I got this phone since I wanted to take a break from my smartphone. Also mainly because it’s very cute and nostalgic. I love pink and I love the accessories that comes with it. Great for doing just the basic texting and calling. Camera isn’t bad. I actually kinda like it’s retro quality. I like the mirror in the front although it does get dusty very easily. It’s quite hard to open the back case. Battery isn’t the best if you plan on accessing the internet on it. But if you only use it for text and calls - battery lasts for days. I’m a bit clumsy so it did drop a couple of times but it didn’t do any damage so I can say it’s durable even though it seems flimsy. But overall it’s functional. Most importantly pink, cute and nostalgic - one of my main reasons why I got this flip phone. Only gave 4 stars though coz figuring out MMS on this phone was a hassle and isn’t the best.

Fun Barbie accessories for young ones

The Barbie phone comes complete with fun accessories more appropriate for a young girl, or those who are young in mind. It also comes with several interchangeable back plates to change the appearance of the phone. The whole set represents a good value. There are tons of fun goodies like stickers and string beads, which would appeal to Barbie fans. The phone uses its own proprietary OS. So, it’s not running on Android and of course not on iOS. There are several apps to download from the OS store, however, there’s no popular messaging apps available there. The phone as is functions like a normal phone from the 2000s. It can of course make phone calls and send message, and it can even browse the internet. These basic functions actually make it a very appropriate first phone for young people who just start using a mobile phone. Basically, a phone for a child to communicate with the parents. The phone would be great for parents who want to restrict or limit their child from using social media. Also, the battery is replaceable but I’m not sure where to source it from. A parent would need to insert the battery by opening the battery cover as the cover is not easy to open for the very first time. Afterward, the child needs to be taught on how to change the battery cover as the phone comes with several ones. Bottom line is, it’s a great first phone for those who just need basic functionality of a phone, and the accessories would make Barbie fans out there have a good time.

Strange as it may seem, I got this for my husband. He refuses to use anything but a flip phone and they are hard to come by these days. The one he’s been using is dying and he’d rather carry a pink phone than get a smart one. The pink color will also make it easy to find. Except for the color and the Barbie features, it’s almost identical to the phone he’s been using. There are many cool things about this phone that a child would love. It comes in a sturdy box that looks like a jewelry box and has a magnetic closure. Inside are a lanyard, two optional backs, and charms and stickers for customization. Palm trees, flamingos and hearts subtly show under the numbers on the keypad. There is a Barbie button shortcut to change the wallpaper and the sounds. All the menu options (call log, contacts, etc.) are pink. Even the battery and the charger are pink. An FM radio option and some games are pre-installed. The camera feature can take still shots or videos. Both are of marginal quality. There is a section to enter In Case of Emergency information and contacts. The silver button on the side of the phone is an SOS button that when long pressed, calls the first ICE contact. If no answer, it goes to the second contact, etc. Removing the back to insert the SIM card and battery wasn’t easy. The instructions say to use a fingernail, but it broke mine off. I found that a light twist using a flat tip screwdriver did the trick with no damage to the case. The phone requires a nano-SIM card, approximately 9 x 12mm that is not included. I was able to transfer the one from my husband's current phone. There is only 4 GB of internal storage, which is enough for someone who only uses it as a phone. If pictures are stored and apps and music are downloaded, the optional microSD card will be needed. The included printed instructions are minimal and vague, consisting of 4 pictures. I did find the online user manual which was somewhat better. Since the phone is designed for a pre-smart phone child, an adult will need to set up the phone, figure out how it works, and explain it. An initial set up question is whether the user is over 18 years of age. I assume that answering “no” would cancel the set up. The texting instructions are incomplete. Texting is complicated, which is a good thing if a parent wants to limit the amount of texting their child does. Once I accidentally brought up a dictionary that made texting easier, but I haven’t been able to find the right key combination to do it again. I did have a little trouble switching phones because the phone carrier customer service wasn’t available when I started the set up. By the time I got the IMEI number switched, several voicemails got stuck in limbo between the 2 phones. I could see them on the call log, but couldn’t access them. I tried resetting the phone per the owner’s manual instructions, but it didn’t work. I got a prolonged “please wait” message, but nothing happened. It could be that the SIM card has to be removed before a reset can be done. I don’t like the mirrored front. The date/time and notifications are almost impossible to read and reflections off the mirror can be blinding when using the phone outside. It would be nice if there was an optional cover for it. The biggest negative is the fact that the phone has no Bluetooth. The on-line manual has Bluetooth instructions, but Bluetooth does not exist in the phone settings. I found this out when trying to sync it to my husband's truck so that he can take calls while driving. It would also mean that Bluetooth headphones cannot be connected. Some forums say the UK version has Bluetooth, but not the US version. That’s just crazy. Even a 5 year old dinosaur flip phone has Bluetooth. Not having Bluetooth is a big disappointment. Other than that, the phone is a quality flip phone and not a toy. Younger Barbie fans who need a phone for limited use and for safety will love it.

bright pink phone for the tween Barbie fan - KaiOS

I'm the parent of an elementary student who has asked for about a year now, when will they get a phone. But there's a risk/reward - if I got her an iPhone or Android, there's social media and all the risks of cyber bullying. I also have a concern about data overage and not understanding a phone is a privilege. Fortunately, I'm still in the good range - where a basic phone would win parent points, but it still has to be a cool phone. Enter the Barbie Phone by HMD. I didn't know who HMD are, so had to do some research - they're the company that bought all the old Nokia rights. And if you don't know Nokia... well you're younger than me! -= In the Box =- I hope your daughter likes pink! I had to write this review in the middle of their inboxing, so if I miss something - it's because I was making notes while she was excited. - Barbie Phone - Phone Charms/Lanyard - Stickers (Sequins and Barbie stickers) - Pink USB C Charger - 2x Extra Barbie Rainbow Backplates There are no included headphones, but there is a true proper headphone jack! -= First Impressions =- Technically second impressions, as my daughter got it first. This phone is pink, it's a Barbie phone - so you expect pink. It's a bright neon almost glows because it's so bright pink. The phone feels lightweight, but the flip phone hinge is solid. The front is mirror reflective, it does show the time and date behind the mirror when you turn it on... and when you turn it on it says "Hi Barbie". That made me laugh, my daughter thinks it's cute. All of the menus are pink, the buttons are backlit but also have backlit flamingos, hearts, and the stylized Barbie B. It's definitely 100% all Barbie. The screen is bright, rich. I'm not sure of the resolution. -= Setup =- The SIM slot is located behind the battery. It was easy enough to remove the backplate, then the battery (the battery is even pink! attention to detail!) I decided to use a prepaid plan, so picked up a H2O sim. The phone is unlocked - so any SIM should work. I had to setup the SIM on the H2O website, as the software on the Barbie Phone is KaiOS - so mobile apps are limited and without a touchscreen, I am slow to type using T9 (I could do it once!). But once the SIM was setup, put the battery back, backplate on, and ready to go! Oh, beside the SIM slot is room for a microSD card, although not sure my daughter or even other users would need that because, again, KaiOS is limited. TIP: Make sure you hear a click when you push the backplate back on. -= What's Good =- As a first time user of KaiOS, the operating system on the phone - there are some good things. The phone does support WiFi. There are privacy controls and you can actually set a rule that the owner is under 18. It's a nice touch for parents who want to look after their kids. There is an app store, but it's limited - you won't find WhatsApp, TikTok, Snap. There are games (the phone has Snake!) and you don't need an account to download them. There are clones of popular games (Fruit Ninja) that are easy enough to play even without a touch screen. There's also Google, Maps, and weather and news. You can also setup email - although I didn't do that for my daughter. -= What's Not So Good =- I have a very specific use for this phone, my tween daughter. So to me, the phone is just the right mix of a phone she can use in emergencies with some Barbie fun and basic games. If you're an adult, this phone is probably not for you - as KaiOS is limited. If I had to pick something that's not so good, it would be it's not a phone for adults and HMD would need to make a different version for adults i.e. Android, Touchscreen, etc. If you're an adult Barbie fan, get yourself a Barbie case instead for your Android or iPhone. -= Final Thoughts =- The HMD Barbie Phone is a perfect first phone for the tween Barbie fan, where you, as a parent, don't want them exposed to social media and a full app store. It's well built, light, and has a good mix of privacy controls. If you're an adult though, this is not for you.

So, I’m currently a Sales Manager for a widely known wireless carrier, and over the past 2.5 years, I’ve been assisting parents in choosing the ideal phone for their children. One of the most significant challenges we face is finding an affordable, functional, and safe device suitable for younger users. That’s precisely why I was thrilled to try out the Barbie Phone, and I want to give a big shoutout to the Best Buy Tech Insider Network for providing me with the opportunity to review it. The Barbie Phone is the kind of device I’ve long desired—a fun, adorable, and practical option for children, particularly girls under 12. It’s presented in a charming packaging reminiscent of a little jewelry box, it comes bundled with Barbie-themed accessories, including interchangeable back covers, stickers, a lanyard, and a cleaning cloth. The phone itself is straightforward, offering features like calls, texts, a simple camera with Barbie-themed frames, and even a nostalgic game called “Malibu Snake.” It’s light on apps, lacks social media, and focuses on the essentials, making it an ideal starter phone for children. Now, I must admit that texting on a traditional flip phone like this may not be as quick as on a smartphone. Kids accustomed to smartphones might find it frustrating how long it takes to send a message. However, this could actually be the intended purpose of the Barbie Phone. It’s designed to minimize distractions and promote simple communication rather than endless scrolling or texting marathons. For parents, this could actually be a desirable feature rather than a flaw. The design has a super retro and enjoyable aesthetic, with a reflective front cover that doubles as a mirror. Inside, there’s a backlit keypad and a compact color display that’s easy to navigate. While the camera and call quality may not be exceptional, they serve their purpose adequately for a device that doesn’t aspire to compete with smartphones. At just $130, it offers a safe and affordable way for parents to introduce their children to technology without the concerns of costly repairs or the influence of social media. Overall, I can confidently say that the Barbie Phone effectively fills a crucial gap in the pre-teen tech market. It’s a thoughtful, enjoyable, yet basic and cost-effective option for Barbie enthusiasts and a wise choice for parents seeking a suitable device for their daughters. A definite recommend! I saw alot of negative reviews but I don't think people understand what or who this product is for. This phone was perfect for my 5 year old daughter. The functions are very limited, don't expect an iphone here. There are apps missing, the bluetooth missing, etc etc. Yes, those are all true, but my 5 year will not be using those anyway. This was a very simple objective for me; she sees me using my phone, she wanted to play with something that's similar to my phone, here you go. As she gets older, and/or when there's a need for it, I plan to get a plan for her so I can actually call her. We currently have a Gizmodo watch for her that I can actually call and talk to her, eventually I'll migrate her off that and onto this phone. For now, the music, the radio, the camera, the double screen/clock in the front, is more than enough for her. She loves the pink, she loves the functionality, and the accessories she was able to customize the phone as hers. That's it! I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for an iphone, I need a simple functional phone for her that she can grow into! I don't need google store or youtube on this phone, that's not what it's for, and I don't think we should be judging it based on that. For what it is, a functional, cute, playful phone, with some camera features (daughter loves this, recommend adding your microsd card), this is perfect. If she breaks it or loses it, not the end of the world. It's a little slow, and lacks some modern apps/functions, but it's for your child, not for you. Daughter loves it, she gave it a 10/10. I give it a 8/10 because the one feature I need that's on the Gizmodo watch that I couldn't find on this phone is gps location. If it's for a child, I need it to be able to be tracked. I know it's advertised as it has a GPS, I'm not sure if it's linked to a data plan or not, but I couldn't get it to work, so I'm unable to track her for now. Otherwise if my daughter loves it, I love it.

Fun, Retro Flip-Style Phone for Barbie Fans

To begin with, presentation was lovely. Pink, pink, and even more pink! Opening the velvet lined box and exploring what all was inside, was so much fun! Like getting a present. That being said, this throwback retro-style Barbie flip-phone would make an awesome gift for your pre-teen as a first "starter" phone, especially since it's basic limited features don't include all the usual 'social media' apps you may not want your daughter/granddaughter/niece to be introduced to at a young age. Fortunately, I have a physical (not digital) SIM card installed in my backup mobile phone, so was able to use that to test out this Barbie phone. Getting the back cover off was a bit tricky, as I was trying not to inadvertently break or scratch the plastic surface. Finally, I was able to carefully 'pry' open the back cover using the small "flat head screwdriver" from my Swiss Army Knife. I also decided to buy a 32gb micro-SD card to install in the Barbie phone, just to have some extra storage room for photos and videos. Both the SIM and micro-SD card are located beneath the battery (which is also pink). Even the charging cord is pink! Picture quality of the 5MP camera (with LED flash) was very much lacking. Like, not great. But then again, as this is meant to simulate the old flip-style phone we used to have before the advent of "smart phones," the photo quality is true to what pics looked like back then. Call quality was mediocre, not as crisp or clear as we've become accustomed to. But this is to be expected. Again, this is not a modern smart phone. Battery life was minimal, so plan on charging this phone more than once a day if you use it often. The external screen's mirror feature on the lid of the phone, is a nice touch. It also shows the time. Be aware, you will see every fingerprint. But they've already thought of that and provided a cleaning cloth to remove those smudges off the mirror's shiny surface. All of the included accessories were fun to explore and personalize my new Barbie phone with. There are two extra back covers that you can switch out (which snap on easily), a beaded lanyard wristlet that attaches to the top of the phone which you can add the five charms to, along with some stickers and "gemstone" stickers to further customize the Barbie themed covers. If you are "young at heart," a fan of the new movie, or of Barbie in general, this phone could be just for you. Not only is it inexpensive, but with it being an actual working phone, you can use it as a 'backup' or simply to play around with for fun, or give as a cool gift.

    Barbie calling!

HMD has partnered with Mattel to bring you one of the most interesting Barbie product: The Barbie Flip Phone. I should probably start by mentioning that this is an actual, functional phone. It's not a toy, but it should appeal to "tweens" who loved the movie or, well, just about anyone who's a Barbie fan. The packaging is very, very nice. It contains the phone, several replaceable covers, a bead bracelet to attach to the phone and some other knick-knacks to make it your own. Frankly, I was stunned at how much was in this box, considering the price. The phone itself is full plastic and the feel is just what you might expect: it doesn't feel very sturdy. Let's have a look-see at what it can do. Being a *real* phone, running on a home brew OS, it can do what all other flip phones can. Placing calls, texting and it has a nice little suite of built-in apps as well. The call quality is good and I haven't had any dropped calls. The battery is a bit on the light side for a flip phone, but if you ever need to replace it, it can be done easy. I would say that the worst part of the HMD Barbie Phone is its camera which is not great. Actually, it's really bad. I didn't expect miracles, but the CMOS sensor is what you'd be getting from an old web cam from the early 2000's. Otherwise, everything is quite positive. The charging port is a Type C, there is an audio jack (!!!). But what really got to me was the mirror on the back of the screen which acts also as a small screen which shows the charging level and other neat little things. Overall, I would recommend this phone for the obvious fun factor and the fact that it works quite well. The build quality is not great but it's within a price range that doesn't really allow for more expensive components. Note that the phone is NOT locked. You can pick your own provider which is a welcome option as well. It will make a great first phone. So come on Barbie, let's go party!

    Cute Pink Barbie phone

This is the absolute cutest flip phone I have ever seen. I love all of the pink that comes with it to accessorize your already pink phone. A SIM card is needed to make calls even if connected to wifi. The phone came with 3 different pink cases that were so cute. It also included a colorful beaded phone chain holder with cute little charms to add to it, gems/stickers to decorate your phone, a pink cloth to wipe your phone, and a cute pink charger. Also, there is no need to carry a compact mirror anymore because the front of the phone is an actual mirror. Super cute. The phone has some old-school games and a gem game similar to Bejeweled, which I found pretty fun. My daughter loves the Barbie phone and all the little things that came with it to personalize it to her own taste. It also has a camera that works great and with the digital cameras coming back into style, this is a cute little bonus. There are many features for a flip phone, such as the ability to search on Google, even though it is not as simple as the newer phones because moving the mouse is not as easy on a flip phone as a touch screen. Really loving this phone and would def recommend it to others.

You get what you pay for

There is a reason the comment is often used, “you get what you pay for” and this is a good example of it. It’s not like you are out there dropping a grand on a state of the art cell phone that can do the latest and greatest. No, this is literally like the bare minimum, borderline feeling like one of those items you might win out of an arcade crane machine. This feels like a toddler toy, but I would not trust it with a child under 10. Sadly, I feel if you have ever let your child use a touch screen device before then, they aren’t going to enjoy getting this one. This is a flashback to the early years of cell phones. Where you have to hit the number keys multiple times to get to the letter you need, over and over. Where you weren’t just touching a screen to do everything, but managing a directional pad through the basic menus. However, for those that remember the “simple times”, this might be right up your alley. Just go back to flipping the phone open and making calls. Forget all those other messenger apps and send a basic SMS that is as short as possible because you don’t want to type all that. As mentioned above, this feels like a toddler toy in the all plastic design, even the mirror on the front warping like a kids plastic mirror. However, it is a fully functioning phone, where even the pre-installed games have misleading spam ads like so many other smart phone applications. It runs on KaiOS and it is slow to do practically everything. Even the time showing minutes delayed on the screen compared to the time in the corner. But, it functions, it is a phone and has the Barbie fair to go with it. You can stay with the default pink or swap out the back for two other designs and put any of the included stickers to make it your own. As an added bonus, unlike so many other phones these days, it actually comes with a standard charger with USB-C end. The wire is built into the charger, but since most things are USB-C now, that doesn't matter much. Overall, it’s got all the retro vibe and Barbie design, but I would not trust this with a young child as it does not feel very durable. It’s along the value of other “burner” style phones, but you're also getting a brand on it too. So, it is a hard to place device for me.

TL;DR: 1. SETUP: Overall, it was easy (more below). 2. USE: Works great - just as expected…and with a “Welcome Barbie” tune when you power it on. 3. USABILITY: It works well. It actually had service in an area where smartphones struggle. 4. OVERALL: It is a solid basic, flip phone. It works well, is cute and comes with some fun accessories. Unboxing the phone, it’s all about Barbie-style. The “jewelry” style box with fun accessories, like a wrist strap, 3 back covers, charms and stickers. The box is felt-lined and is actually a cool little jewelry box that can be used as one. It even has a magnetic closure! If you like pink and are a Barbie fan, this is your phone! When you power it on, it even says, “Hello Barbie!” Very cute! In regards to the setup, taking the original back off to put your SIM card and the included pink colored battery in, was a little difficult. I used the edge of a flathead screwdriver to pop it off. Also, when putting your SIM card in, I used the same screwdriver tip and gently slid the metal frame of the SIM card holder to pop it up, and then slide in the card and secure it. You can put a MicroSD card in for added memory storage, but I didn’t. I then put the battery in and powered it on. I was happily surprised but the “Hello Barbie” audio. Once powered on, it asked if I wanted to connect to WiFi - I didn’t and clicked cancel. We didn’t have any saved contacts, so we added a few. It automatically connected to the network - we have AT&T on that line. We made some test calls and it worked great. There are several apps. We tested the preloaded game, Snake. It was fun. Also, we searched Google Maps (preinstalled) for a phone number of a local pizza shop. Everything worked well. We are very happy with our Barbie phone. It’s well made, seems durable, is really cute for a Barbie fan of any age!

Unboxing was straightforward. I like the detail that was spent on the packaging. Included is the phone in a jewelry box. Also included was the battery, 3 covers, USBC cable, bead bracelet, stickers and jewels. It seems like a good amount of stuff for the price point. I also like that the included charger does not have an option to not connect the cable or lose it. It is a 1-piece charger which is easier for a younger person to use. The setup was pretty simple. Adding the wireless network and installing a sim card was all that was needed. Ther is also a Micro SD slot for more storage. Use: I like the old school feel of the flip phone. It really simplifies the calling for younger kids since they can only call and text. I feel at this age is where most parents are hesitant to give out a phone. I like that this phone has everything besides the internet and app store functions of modern smart phones. It does actually have an app store but they are limited and since there is not a full keyboard the amount of things you can pull up is limited. However, I do worry when the app store has recommended slot games. I wonder as a parent if I want my kids playing Christmas Slots. I felt like the camera was fairly responsive and there is a flash and video option. The mirror on the cover seems nice but quickly filled with my fingerprints and lost its appeal. The call quality was good, and I found equal reception to my current smart phone. I was able to carry the phone all day without losing a charge. I was only calling and Texting. This included a physical battery which is pink. The only concern I had is when the phone has issues in 2024 how can I find parts since this is specific to this model. In all I feel like this is a fun phone for a younger child from 8-12 that likes the pink Barbie color. The phone works and seems to be good value for the price. There is very little to manage as a parent other than installing a sim card.

If your kid is a Barbie fan then they will love this device. It is unique in its own way and very detailed and fun for Barbie enthusiasts. This phone was nicely packed in the box, it was my first impression. The build quality is pretty good, is not what you'd expect like those $1000 products, but it's more than adequate for a child. What impresses me is the details and fun extras they added to truly enhance the experience. This is a flip phone, a fun memory of the past. It is pink with Barbie themed logo and colors, it is very girly. The front of the phone has a reflective cover that doubles as a mirror. Beneath this mirror lies a small display showing notifications, date/time, battery life, and caller ID. On the front it also has a built-in 5MP camera and a flash. Inside it has a larger color display and a backlit number keypad with other functionality buttons. It also features a removable battery, micro SD card slot, and interchangeable back covers. Using this phone cannot be any simpler, despite having KaiOS, an operating system I never heard of. Sympli insert a sim card, turn the phone on and start making phone calls. That's about it. This OS has a menu which is very simple to navigate. This phone's main purpose is to make phone calls. It worked with T-Mobile service and connected to the 4G LTE network without any issues. It has good signal reception and good call quality. This phone does have GPS, Wi-Fi and access to the web version of Google map. Something interesting about this phone is that it is practically disconnected from social media. It does have some apps installed and a web base app store, however, most of the apps are mostly educational and some to keep you entertained. Nothing like the stuff you will find in iOS or Google Play, they are much simpler. Overall I find this phone to be a great first phone gift for a child who loves or enjoys Barbie. While the build quality isn't premium, it offers plenty of kid-friendly features like a mirror-like front cover, dual displays, a camera, and interchangeable back covers and other barbies theme accessories. It may not be the smartest phone but it has all the necessary technology to make it useful especially for the young ones. In the box you get the Barbie themed flip phone, 2 extra back covers, beaded lanyard, gem stickers, regular stickers, cleaning cloth, battery, USB-C charger, and quick setup guide.

Never thought I'd own anything Barbie in my life but, here I am with a Barbie themed phone. In a world dominated with state-of-the-art smart phones, bit of a different change using this dumb phone. To start, if you're one of those looking for the latest and greatest in phone technology...this ain't it. This is your typical dumb, flip phone plastered with everything Barbie from the interchangeable back plates to the mirror chrome front. This is for the Barbie fanatic in your life as well as a nice change from gawking at your smart phone all day. Included with the phone are a bunch of stickers, a couple different back plates as well as a beaded lanyard. This is on top of the normal charger (USB-C) cable and a wall charger. Again, everything is very pink and Barbie-ish. The phone itself has, by todays standards, very basic specs; Display: 2.8 in. display 4 GB internal storage (MicroSD expandable to 32GB RAM 512 MB 5 MP camera w/ Flashlight Quad-core Cortex-A53 Fairly basic but, for this phone, it works just fine. Again, if you're in the market for a snazzy high tech phone, you need to look elsewhere. But, that said, it's still a great little phone to use since it comes unlocked so you can use it with just about any provider. It has really big buttons so it's user friendly for kids or older folks.

My niece has talked about a flip phone for a little while now and finding an affordable one that’s stylish and actually works was challenging. I came across this unlocked HMD Barbie phone and figured why not. It had all the features she wanted and being that it’s unlocked she could use it with any service provider. So, why not. I was pleasantly surprised to see the surprise and joy on her face upon opening this phone on Christmas morning. At 17 years old I was taking a chance with this one, but to my absolute surprise she loved it and didn’t put it down. Needless to say, it was the highlight of her Christmas morning. Setting up the Barbie phone, just like all others, was seamless. Went to a big box store picked up a SIM and memory card and went through the set-up process. I would say that the entire process took less than an hour, although it was a 17-year-old setting it up and the younger generation these days are much more tech savvy. What you get in the box is the Barbie Phone. The phone and components are well packaged. You also get a charger and the battery comes uninstalled. You also get two extra back covers and stickers. There is gem stickers included and a beaded lanyard. The lanyard has attachable charms included. I watched her for I’d say over at an hour and a half putting this all together and setting it up to her liking. I definitely recommend this phone to someone looking to smile on their child’s face. You see then light up once they get their hands on this little gym. It makes flawless phone calls and their interaction with it will last for hours. This phone is not a gimmick and works as good as any phone out there. Just pick on up and you won’t be disappointed.

I was excited to get this phone because it reminded me of my old flip phone back in the early 2000s and I want to “go back” to a non-touchscreen phone. I love Barbie also back in the days so this is a perfect choice for me. Inside the box are the phone itself, the battery and all the cute accessories - 2 extra back plates, beaded wrist loop, stickers and a pink cloth to wipe the face. The front of the phone can also be used as a mirror if you’d like because it is shiny. It is indeed an unlocked phone. I was able to use a Lyca mobile sim which worked perfectly. Calls are clear and signal is strong. As for texting, I would have to say, expect a “re-learning” curve. As we are now very used to touchscreens, going back to using buttons to type the text can be somewhat exhausting. Navigating through the menus also was a “new” feeling. Needless to say this is nostalgic phone that would truly bring you back to the early days of mobile phones. I plan on using this as a burner phone for travelling.

I purchased this for my 11 year old daughter as her first phone. I was wanting this for the purposes of being able to call and text her. The phone doesnt have social media or any other nonsense that kids need to be exposed to at this age. She loves the phone and it works perfect. I paired it with Mint mobile phone service from Best Buy and the service is actually better than mine and cheaper. I would definitely buy this again and would recommend this for parents who dont want their kids into social media at this youg age.

Phone is literally iconic. It is so cute. It has a lot of crucial features, like Google maps, some phone games, etc. The only draw backs are that you can’t receive texts unless you switch to a basic phone plan, so if you’re buying this phone to ditch your smart phone only temporarily; it might not be the best fit.

This phone is surprisingly rich in features that allow you to set aside your smartphone and better disconnect. It has Google maps, WiFi, and a very basic browser. The camera, to be expected is poor for today’s smart phones but that’s not why you buy this phone.

Absolutely adorable. So stylish, and definitely functional. It only supports a 4G sim card, though, and neither Verizon nor AT&T support 4G, so I had to switch mobile providers to T-Mobile. Honestly, worked out. Without all the fancy apps, there almost no data usage, so a cheap plan with just talk/text works fine. The classic 2048 and snake and other games are a nice bonus. Camera is better than expected (but of course not perfect). So much fun with all the little accessories. The app icons are also a charming detail, and I wish I could set the startup "Hi Barbie" as my text tone. Major downside: the speed dial doesn't work, I keep getting error codes. There's zero water resistance. It doesn't seem like it would survive a drop very well. The long list of obscure russian-labeled "radio stations" in the music app make me think the device is full of spyware, but I'm not using it for anything important. Definitely not a work phone.
