Really easy to set up, and amazing what it will do. Listen to music...yep. Pull up your calendar....yep. Answer trivial questions....you bet!! Also, syncs with thermostat in the house. Wasn't sure we would use it....now, don't know how we got along before we had it!!!

I was hesitant to buy Google Home until I first tried the Echo. Google Home is great at answering questions and it keeps getting smarter (much better than Alexa). I also love the recipe functionality that will guide you step by step and actually waits for you to complete a step before going onto the next one. When I had the Echo, 3/5 questions I asked would be responded with "I'm sorry I do not know that." Google Home will sometimes give me that response but much less frequently and it has more to do about how I asked the question. However, there is a lot of room for improvement: for example being able to output to my surround sound. The echo is enabled to output via blutooth so I'm sure Google could do the same. I bought a Home in anticipation of the updates that are coming such as calling and texting to any number in the US - this will be my home phone. Overall it's a good product - better than the Echo in asking it questions but lacks the music capabilities that the Echo has.

I bought my first Google Home as part of a BestBuy Promotion. Wasn't sure if I would have liked it, but I was wrong. I just bought my 3rd Google Home (playing the high-tech Santa this year). Everyone comments on how easy it is to stream music from Spotify and Google Play. Next up is Chromecast, so I can stream even higher quality audio on my 7.1 receiver. Recommended for streaming audio, podcasts, etc.

I finally got a Google Home a few weeks back, and I was a little apprehensive at first with how much I would use it. Over time, I discovered more uses for it, added a few smart home lights that could be controlled by it, and introduced my roommates to asking Google to play music, and we all really enjoy having it! The sound quality is surprisingly good, and the mic will hear you from across a large room.

The Google home is great! I'm definitely enjoying it. If you want to play your pandora, spotify, google play music it's great. If you get two of them you can create a home group and ask Google to play on both. I have one in the kitchen to answer questions, play music, add items to my shopping list while my hands are messy doing dishes or cooking. I've had the Amazon Echo Dot as well. Right now, Alexa has the upper hand on Google. It has more functionality then Google. It can be used with more smart home products. And as of 2017 Alexa's software is showing up in a ton of new gadgets (cars, lights, refrigerators, robots, and more). Overall I went with Google because I use android and am hoping to see more built-in functionality that works with my phone. I'm playing the long game. Google is taking it's time adding features. If you don't care which one you get, go with Alexa, she has more features right now. Otherwise, both are great options.

I have used this over the course of the last 2 weeks and have used it a lot more than I originally thought I would. I placed the device in my kitchen and use it quite often. I frequently have it play music for me when I do the dishes and ask it for measurement conversions while cooking. The speaker actually sounds remarkably good for how little it is. I also use it to cast music to my other Chromecasts. You can tell it to cast music to Chromecast Audio devices or YouTube videos to your Chromecast TVs. I was also able to connect it to my Harmony Hub to control my other IoT devices via its IFTTT integration, which is a really great feature. It was also great for setting timers and alarms and answering questions you would normally ask Google. I was, however, surprised that it did not support a few features, such as setting reminders and adding events to your Google calendar. I know Google is working on adding features such as these in the future, and I have to say I can't wait for them to.

The ease of setting this product up with my smart phone was too easy. And the functionality is also outstanding. It does exactly what it says it does. I cannot wait to add items to it, like amazon shopping, door locks, etc. etc. I especially love the hands free....I do a lot of cooking and cannot mess with my phone all the time to find answers or check my recipe ingredients. I love it love it love it

Great SmartHome Speaker That's Only Getting Better

I've owned the Amazon Echo and also the Google Home. The Google Home is better in my opinion. When you ask the Home things it answers. It gives you responses from websites or sends info to your phone. It can also set timers, turn on and off smart lights, play music straight from Google Play Music, and add things directly to a calendar (+So much more). My only down point would be that sometimes it doesn't hear me as well as id like it to. Saying "Okay Google" a few times before it gets it. However, though the Amazon Echo can do a lot of things well, the Echo feels to me like more of a developer's smart speaker. But if you are like me and live in a Google world, maybe you use Google Play Music, Google Calendar, A Android phone, Maybe a Chromecast or two... The Google Home is a no-brainer. But even if you don't have all those things. If you just want a tool to make your life just a bit easier, the Google Home is only getting better with time and trust me, you won't regret it.

It was a really easy decision for me to pick this over the Amazon Echo line. I am a avid Google user (Pixel XL phone) and I am definitely happy with this little device. Setting up multiple smart home devices could not be easier and I love the voice controlled options for them. The speakers are probably not the best sounding speaker you'll ever hear, but I didn't really buy it for that primary purpose.

Set-up real easy and properly documented. Lots of guidance via mail and also on YouTube to be found. Haven't come around trying out all ways of using it at home, yet already my family loves it for the ease of interfacing, e.g. we're now starting with Spotify as well. Our son (10) is happy learning new things and along the way develops numerious skills that he needs growing up in this digital era.

I'm just now getting into the whole smart home thing and decided on the Google ecosystem. So far I am thoroughly enjoying it. I bought the Home for my main living space and 3 mini's for the rest of the house. The Home has great sound and picks up my voice well even across the room. They are always adding new features to the google assistant so the Home device is more and more helpful every week.

We bought Google Home after trying Amazon Echo. We love having it at home. The speaker is great for listening to Spotify or Pandora, good sound and plenty of volume. It's very convenient to ask questions you'd normally have to type into your computer or phone. The shopping list that we can share with everyone in the family is an amazing feature. Love the timer and alarm also. Highly recommend.

Google Home is a good device but I wish it had better music play back with Apple products. I subscribe to Apple Music and am awaiting apples release of a similar product. I get frustrated when I ask google to play a specific song and it plays a pandora station based on that song. It does well with knowing what you’re asking ( I.e google searches or play a specific podcast ) but needs a way to use Apple Music.

So I love our Google Home; in fact we have two of them and on cleaning days, we can pump stereo music all over the house and that's super cool. It controls lights, and TVs and now you can even use it as a speakerphone which is great. I'll probably get a mini or two just to round out the collection and intercom between rooms. If you're in the Google/Android ecosystem, it's hard to go wrong here.

Love my google home. It is a great product that just keeps getting better with lots of updates from Google. It produces a nice loud, clear sound that fills my living room with music. It doesn't offer deep base, but it works very well given it's size. I use it to control my Nest Thermostat and hue lights without any problems. Only issue I have with it is that it can't always hear me very well.

We bought this to compare to our Alexa. Both connect easily and work well with our smart home devices... nest, TV, etc. however, Google gives better responses to general questions or trivia, etc. while Alexa says she’s “still learning” or “doesn’t understand”... Google answers the same questions Alexa can’t. ...I wish I could get Alexa to ask Google when she is not sure how to reply... hehe.

I received this for Christmas. It came out of the box and set in minutes. It is connected to other smart devices and controls them by voice. The speakers work well and it is nice to just tell it what you want to hear. I hope they continue to developers additional programming.
