I purchased this product for a road trip and it was a great help. It gave my shoulders some relief during the trip.

Better than expected. Great massage without leaving home, plus heat.

This thing really massages your neck. Almost to the point of being too hard. To each their own

This product is easy to use and very helpful on those painful muscles.

I was having some neck and shoulder aching. I used the Shiatsu setting and was amazed how good it felt. I used it several times a day and after a few days, I felt relief in my neck. I switched the position of the unit and put it over my shoulder, it felt great on my trapezius muscle. I actually showed it to several people, I was so impressed.

For years I've had neck problems and thought "What the heck!" and purchased the HoMedics - Shiatsu Neck and Shoulder Massager. I am so glad I did! The shiatsu type massager helps loosen my stiff neck. Turn on the heat and it helps even more. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I would like to see the electrical chord made longer. Other than that, it's something that gives me neck relief when I really need it.

This has been a very relaxing product to reduce stress. Been enjoying it!

A really good massager for a reasonable price. I've had it for little over a month and my shoulders have never felt better.

Purchased this because it was 1/2 off and I suffer from chronic neck pain. I find that it works well to provide some relief. It seems to stretch things out and the heat feature is nice. Would be nice if there was a power light so you know if it's on or not. This is not a problem for shiatsu or vibrate mode, but it wouldn't be hard to leave the heat function on, That's why you should never leave it plugged in if you're not using it. Would recommend if you can get it for the right price

TL;DR: I really wouldn't buy this: other products with much better value exist out in the wild of the market. Only exception I'd really give is if you can't afford a pricier device, and this is in stock at your local Best Buy. Even then, be careful with it, as it could (not will, but could) eventually do more harm than good. I don't really write reviews often, but the poor quality of this device prompted me to make an exception for that general rule, as I want to warn others of the device's issues. Now, onto my wall of text: I've been having a lot of neck pain for at least a year straight, and I decided it was time I do something about it. And so, I ordered one of these from here, and it came here today...unfortunately, it looks like I'm gonna be returning it today, as well. Reasons, here we come! Firstly, the vibration function...just doesn't feel very effective to me. I feel like it could either be that the motor's a bit weak, or for some reason, it just doesn't seem to transfer the motor's own vibration very well to your neck. I have an old corded handheld massager that feels significantly more effective. I was hoping this product could provide me an even better experience, but quite sadly it does not. I also felt like it the vibration could be be a bit unbalanced as well. It felt more like it was on the left side than the right, but that just might be me, though. Now, onto the kneading mode: while the kneading mode would be a great thing for me to have if it was done well...that's the thing, it isn't. But if it indeed were done well, I'd really appreciate having it, because it would most likely help me a lot. It is most unfortunately quite tight and rough, to the point of very noticeable discomfort. This thing's probably gonna hurt my neck if I keep using it (which I won't), making me even worse off than I already was. I'm a pretty small guy too, so it's not just me. If you're a literal stick figure, you may be fine...but I'm warning you: if you think you are one, this device will make you think twice about that. All I can really say on the heating mode, is that it seems it takes a good while to heat up. In the short time I tried it (as the poorly-done kneading mode disappointed me significantly), I felt nothing. I'm not knocking this device for my impatience alone, because that would be very silly of me. What you should be aware most aware of in regards to this feature however, is that Miyataro here in this review section said it can give you a low-degree burn if you're not careful with it. Ouch...not exactly comforting! I'll also mention that this is a corded device that must be plugged into the wall, as opposed to being cordless. This isn't truly a big ol' deal in my case, but I believe that cordless in a device of this nature is definitely a good perk that would be very appreciated if it were present. Keep that carefully in mind, as depending on your scenario (and any possible future ones), this could (now or eventually) break the deal for you. The control buttons are, as you can tell from the picture, placed on the device itself. Since this device obviously goes on your neck, the buttons are right to the side of your head, making them very difficult to see. You'd need to memorize what button is where, or take the device off to see. I would have appreciated if they were along the cord, which I do understand would take more engineering effort, but that would've been worth it, in my humble opinion. Wrapping this long and hopefully-well-detailed review up, it technically does what it's supposed to, but not very well at all in my opinion. Two out of five, because you'd be much better off getting another massaging device. Even if it's a cheap device and meant to be such, there are far better value products out n' about. And always remember: value is the ratio of how much you get for what you spend. You can do much better than this product for only a little more, so despite being a little more expensive, it's much better value overall. I hope this review helps someone. I really love the massage feature with heat but the Shiatsu is a bit too rough for me.

Kinda awkward to use but still works really well if you don't mind having to hold it.
