Customers are saying

Customers love the OfficeJet Pro 8720's exceptional print quality and ease of use, frequently praising its straightforward setup and reliable performance. While some find it larger than expected and a bit noisy, the convenience of wireless printing and scanning capabilities are also frequently highlighted. The printer's occasional paper jams are a noted drawback for some users.

This printer does what it says adequately. Occasionally, you see some stripes in large blocks of color, but for the most part it gets the job done. There's nothing really special about the printer. I just hope it lives longer than 2.5 years which would be special

I had an HP 8600 Pro 3-in-1 and loved it. My niece needed a printer for grad school and work from home, so I gave it to her and went searching for a new one. Thought the 8710 was going to be the newer version, but it's far from it. More like a scaled down version. It's missing even basic features like retaining a folder address when scanning and saving multiple documents to the same folder. Now I have to go to 'Clients, Client Name, Invoices, Year' before saving each piece of paper. I checked with HP Support for instructions without success. I'm also not able to compress the document size for multiple page documents with this model. I was given instructions by HP Support, but they didn't work for this model. I'm frustrated daily with this model.

I have been an HP customer for decades. This was a replacement printer. It is the worst printer from any company I have ever had. It will not print even the lightest of cover stock or cardstock. It is the noisiest printer since the days of dot matrix. Sadly, I recycled the packing material or I would be returning it. It is the last HP I will buy. I should have gone with the Brother.

    Junk

I had told myself to never buy another HP printer. Well it has been some years since my last poor experience ,so I went against better judgement and bought this thing. Now that we have had it a year, along with their ink cartridge deal, I guarantee I'll never buy another HP. This piece of garbage won't print about a quarter of the time, it just sits there idle. Other times it will all on it's own, print a page with one character on it for absolutely no reason. This is great for their ink program as the printer counts prints and then you get charged extra if you go over your allotment. It requires restarts fairly often. However, restarting usually requires unplugging it as it will show its shutting down for literally hours, but never does. I should have sent it back months ago. Looks like I own this lock, stock and barrel, for better or worse. Problem is it's usually worse and the divorce will be throwing it out the door and stomping on it. Two hundred fifty dollars out in the street. Thanks HP for another piece of junk. How do you stay in business?

      Hi,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with this printer, though I am terribly sorry to hear that it isn't working as well as you'd like.

Performance of the printer is often greatly improved by upgrading the firmware and using the full-featured software. The downloads for those can be found at:
      support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8720-all-in-one-printer-series/7902032

Many customers love the Instant Ink subscription, but if it is not for you, you can cancel. If you do though, please be aware that the programs are giving you the cartridges and you are only paying for pages printed. Once a subscription runs out, the Instant Ink cartridges will not print and you will need to replace them with regular ones.

Since you've had the printer for over a year, you won't be able to get customer support for free, but you could still contact us with other issues, or you could seek help for any problems at the HP forums: hp.com/supportforum

HP had the worst customer service possible. Printer will not stay connected to WiFi on Ethernet. It has to be reset every day. HP could not fix. Said it is the fault of Apple OS security. That's BS!!!

This printer is well-reviewed, but not worth it. The first one was dead out of the box and HP wasn't much help. The replacement works most of the time. A surprising number of times the printer prints the same thing twice on the page, offset by about an 1/8th of an inch. Printing the same thing again works fine. This is probably why it goes through ink much more than I expect, even with printing in draft mode and XL cartridges. And instant ink is a scam.

Works well but hate the fact that HP try to hold you hostage using their cartridges! It asks all kind of crazy like blocking the wireless capabilities.

The printer/scanner has all the functions I need but the HP interface doesn't allow for 2 sided scanning. If HP fixes this issue with an update I would give the Printer 5 stars
