More Powerful Than 92% Of Systems Tested
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this Open Box Excellent for basically half price. Received the laptop in one day and in perfect condition. Couldn't even tell it had been powered on. Ran benchmarks right out of the box, and this is a powerful machine with a beautiful screen! If the somewhat underpowered GPU bothers you, then you should probably skip this laptop. Alternatively, you could purchase it, try it out in some games, and see how you like it within the return period. I was amazed that this HP scored in the 92nd percentile of all PassMark systems tested, and higher than 92% of all Novabench systems tested (see screenshots). That includes desktop PCs and multi-CPU servers that have been tested by those benchmarking programs. The 32GB of RAM is soldered in, so no upgrade is possible there, unless you know what you're doing. There is a possibility of vbios swapping in the near future that could increase the maximum GPU wattage from 75 to possibly 90-100 watts. Online videos discuss vbios swapping. A 16-core Intel chip, 32GB of RAM, RTX 5070, an all-metal case inside and out, a 3K OLED screen — there's a lot to like about this laptop, especially if you can find it for a significant discount on Black Friday or through Open Box.

Best computer
|Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great computer with a compact and lightweight design, perfect for students like me who want to study and game on the go. The OLED display is my favorite feature, offering vibrant colors and sharp image quality. Performance is excellent for both school work and gaming, though it can be a little pricey for some budgets.

Excellent mix of form factor and performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent performance considering the form factor in unleashed or performance mode. Eco mode for media consumption, browsing etc. can get around 9 hours of usage. Using dlss, ray tracing and frame gen delivers surprising results from this 5070 that is on the lower wattage side (75 watts max for gpu) but shows really good efficiency. The vapor chamber cooling is top notch. The Oled display is gorgeous and does have vrr and one of the key reasons for considering this model. The open item price was an amazing deal on this one.

Great Portable Gaming PC
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Currently moving, my desktop setup is currently packed up. Been using this for a couple of months while im back and forth before the move. Love how light and portable this machine is. Runs games good, obv desktop power is unmatched compared to laptops. But it stays cool, quiet, crushes everything i throw at it. OLED screen is a plus. Been loving this laptop, opened it up had no issues, swaped the 1TB with a 4TB. Been absolutely killer. My first laptop. I dont think ill get rid of it when we moved in fully either, was thinking about docking it to a projector in the game room since its so small to tuck away! Almost bought the G14 but i got this for under 1700 no tax either, awesome device!

A Laptop that stays cool at top performance.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never been a huge fan of anything HP especially many Years Ago. While this Laptop isnt perfect, it almost is especially coming from previous HP Laptops. But this one not only performs great but stays cool even under heavy loads. While tasks like Ableton Live with many CPU Heavy VSTs, the Laptops stays cool, but struggles a tiny bit. But with Gaming, the Laptop handles temps great and does not overheat. The Battery life is also not the worst, but you will probably get around at most 2 hours without needing to charge. The Speed of the Laptop is pretty efficient and great. It is able to hold its own under heavy tasks. And will not slow down when under idle or normal use. The Display is Great, but not the Best for certain tasks. For Videos and Gaming the display seems to be great without any issues. But for certain tasks like VST UI, it can show up a bit lower quality or pixelated. Overall I recommend purchasing the Intel Ultra 9 and Nvidia RTX 5070 For the Best Performance. And that Laptop GPU Performs better than a Desktop 3060.

Perfect balance of portability and power
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Go in with the expectation that this is a powerful creator's laptop (rather than a heavy duty gaming laptop) and you won't be disappointed. For heavy duty gaming laptops, go look at ones that have a full power GPU (100W+) and are 16+ inches/5+ pounds in size. 14" chassis just can't support removal of that much heat without running hot the entire time. And higher wattage GPUs also require a specialized power connector due to requiring much more power than what a 140w usb-c power source can provide. That said, this one runs pretty cool. Keyboard is great, trackpad is solid/functional although not as nice feeling as some of the other laptops out there. Love the 140W usb-c charging too so you can carry a battery for extended full power gaming on the go although it can be very picky about which chargers work/don't work (using an EcoFlow 25000mah 170W output/140W single port output one that works, Anker 737 didn't work for me here). OLED screen is beautiful although reflective. Latest bios update fixed the Eco mode w/ integrated graphics option so Eco Mode w/ integrated graphics only lasts like 9+ hours with light work/browsing. Upgraded mine with a 4TB Samsung 990 Evo Plus SSD (make sure you upgrade with a single sided SSD, double sided might fit super well) and its been perfect so far. This is probably also the only thing you can upgrade on this laptop. RAM is soldered so can't change that. And WiFi card is under the heatsink so can be a pain to change/much more involved than it really should be. Temps have been cool while gaming, around 70-75ish for CPU and 70ish for GPU in Borderlands 4 although you also have to fiddle with settings a bit to achieve the best balance between power to the GPU and power to the CPU. System only has around 105W to feed both simultaneously so I usually set CPU settings to minimum power in unleashed mode (PL1 25W/PL2 26W/PL3 135W) so the GPU can get most of the power with Smart Performance Gain off. Also helps to keep temps reasonable as a full 45W to the CPU will get it running at 95C and keeping more power to the GPU is probably better for higher frame rates than feeding more power to the CPU. Overall, loving it. Great, very portable machine that can last a long time on battery for office work while also handling gaming from time to time. If you can catch it on a good sale, its probably the best deal of all the 14" creator laptops (Razer 14, Asus Zephyrus G14, Acer Predator Triton 14 AI).

Coolest laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP OMEN Transcend 14 is hands down one of the best gaming laptops I've ever used. The combination of the Intel Core Ultra 9-285H and the powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 makes this machine a true performance beast. Whether you're gaming, streaming, or running demanding creative applications, everything runs smoothly and without lag. The 14” 3K OLED 120Hz display is absolutely stunning — colors are vivid, blacks are deep, and the high refresh rate makes gameplay incredibly fluid. It's also a joy to use for content consumption, from editing photos and videos to watching movies in ultra-high resolution. With 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, multitasking is seamless and load times are practically nonexistent. The build quality feels premium, with a sleek Shadow Black design that looks professional and cool at the same time — perfect for both work and play. Battery life is surprisingly solid for such a powerful laptop, and the cooling system is efficient without being too loud. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the overall portability of the device makes it great for on-the-go productivity or gaming. In short, the HP OMEN Transcend 14 delivers desktop-level power in a lightweight, stylish package. Highly recommended for gamers, creators, and power users alike. Worth it !

Good Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop! I've done some light gaming on it, mainly Baulders Gate 3 and some 4X games. Battery life is SO-SO if you're gaming, but if you're just browsing the web it lasts me maybe 3 hours. I recommend removing the HP applications, I had issues with them slowing down the system. This was particularly evident when you open the volume/sound menu from the bottom right of the screen. There's an HP icon that's placed in it, and every time you'd try to adjust volume or brightness the laptop would slow down and pause temporarily. After removing the HP app, this issue was fixed entirely. The screen is great, and the build quality is pretty good. I like this laptop. The keyboard is a little squishy, but I've learned to be fine with it.

Very good for the right use case
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a niche product. It's a portable capable gaming laptop that fulfills a somewhat narrow interest. The specs are fantastic...except the gpu being a 75w 5070. You just need to know what you're getting. The HUGE plus for me is that you can get full power over USB-C only. No huge power brick necessary. It works great with a 140w power bank (I use an Anker) which gives it about an extra hour of super portable gaming on a gorgeous screen. The negative reviews about the underpowered gpu are just dumb...you should already know what you're getting before buying. The major negative is the battery. Even after upgrading the bios, it's not good in hybrid mode. It drains the battery doing normal light tasks in 4-6 hours. You have to switch to the igpu mode which requires a reset to get 8-10 hours which shouldn't be the case for a laptop with advanced optimus. Hopefully it will be fixed via update.

Good option for model development, matlab, coding
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lightweight, less heating, and quiet. Battery life was good in the beginning (at least up to 5hrs). seems to drain faster with heavy work unless plugged in. performance is good for light work and heavy work when plugged in.

Great, light, laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this computer! I’m replacing an iPad Pro 12.9 with it, and it’s about the same size and weight. The only thing it doesn’t have is touchscreen, everything I gain makes it well worth it. It’s super fast, the fans are relatively quiet, and the screen has great color, death, and brightness.

HP OMEN = Pure Power
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently picked up the HP OMEN from Best Buy, and it’s been an absolute powerhouse. For gaming, the performance is unreal , high FPS, smooth graphics, and zero lag even in demanding titles. The cooling system keeps it running quietly, so I can stay in the zone without worrying about overheating. For app development, this laptop is a dream. Compiling code, running virtual machines, and multitasking with heavy programs is effortless thanks to its lightning-fast processor and ample RAM. The display is vibrant and sharp, making both game visuals and design work look incredible. Best Buy made the buying process smooth, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The HP OMEN is easily the best investment I’ve made for both work and play. Highly recommended!

10 Bit Video Editors Rejoice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally, we have a thin and light laptop that can edit 10 bit 422 video on a gaming laptop. I've been waiting a long time for this! It works great, and it allows me to game when I want, but also video edit and do work when I need to on a great screen! It's a great option for video editors

Trying out a new brand.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent computer, fast and with a graphics card that meets the needs of 3D CAD projects. Good portability, lightweight, and with good battery life. I've always had Dell computers and decided to switch brands due to recurring hardware issues. So far, I'm very happy with the change.

1st non 5 start review
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is sleek, has a solid metal build, and doesn't weigh much. It's small enough to slide in a small bag. It has a 5070 and 32 GB ram so it's fast and plays games on high settings for 1080 or 1440p. The reason for 3 stars is, the bottom has a mesh cover over the fans. Depending how you pick it up or whats underneath, you easily bend and crease that mesh. Also, for mine, 2 of the 4 screws holding the bottom cover were either stripped, or inserted wrong at the factory. They won't come out, that is, the cover won't come off.

transcend 14
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Transcend 14 for a while now, and overall, I really like it. The screen is bright, sharp, and has great color accuracy — perfect for both work and watching videos. It’s also surprisingly lightweight for a laptop with this level of performance, so it’s easy to carry around. The keyboard feels excellent too — responsive, comfortable, and satisfying to type on. I haven’t had any major issues so far, and it’s been a great daily driver for both productivity and light gaming.

So much potential ruined :-(
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high expectations for this device. Unfortunately, I ended up returning it. PROS: Sleek, thin, light and stealthy chassis. Doesn't scream gamer at all and can blend in professional environments. Great Keyboard. Pudding caps, nice travel and tactile feel. OLED screen is great. No PWM flicker and colors are crisp and response time is FAST. Speakers are surprisingly decent despite insufficient bass. System was stable. No lockups. freezing or BSODs. CONS: Battery Life is atrocious. 4 hours MAX. Plus after a single discharge, the batt capacity is reduced 2.7% of its total capacity. 71 wHr is insufficient for an Intel system. Insufficient cooling solution for the CPU. So high Temps. Bloated System Control Panel. No MUX switch. dGPU is limited to 75W max. The CONS for me were too overwhelming hence why I returned it.
