i got this about 2 weeks ago and so far I am loving it. Nothing is wrong with the headset. very easy to set up. it has every thing you need in order to play vr. I can play for long periods of time (8hr+) without it getting too hot. The controllers have a long battery life perfect for long play sessions. Love playing beat saber with it. 10/10

So a bit of background, my only experience prior to getting this was the Gear VR, Oculus Go and PlayStation VR. I just got my gaming PC and grabbed this a few weeks after. I went with this for a few reasons. High resolution, availability (Valve Index is backordered for months), modularity. To start the resolution is really good, and for me is a huge step up from my previous VR experiences. Setting up the base stations and scaling the room was a pretty simple process. I had them stations mounted to the walls and they were immediately able to communicate with each other. The tracking coming from those base stations is excellent. Long story short, here are some of the pros and cons based on my experiences. I played Half Life Alyx, No Man's Sky Beyond, Beat Sabre and VR Chat Pros: -Super sharp display -Excellent tracking -Really good audio from inbuilt headphones -Easy setup -Tons of games and apps available on Steam -Flip-up visor Cons: -Pretty small "sweet spot" to get a clear vision -Takes some time to get a comfortable fit -Controllers aren't the greatest (though I do have the Valve Index controllers on backorder) All in all I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Yes the Valve Index may offer a better value, but this does benefit with a slightly higher resolution screen. This is a really good kit to get everything you need right out of the gate.

The Vive Elite Cosmos is not a terrible VR, it’s just not worth the current price tag. With controllers that first came out over 4 years ago, they work but can be frustrating. Their design makes quite a few games difficult to play without smashing the large sensor ring into each other. This also comes with version 1 of the tracking stations. I’d suggest buying stands for these otherwise you will be placing two large screws into your wall for each unit. Overall, you aren’t paying for anything innovative. You’d be far better off either paying less and going with the Oculus Quest with (or without) the link cable or simply paying an additional $100 for the Valve Index, which is widely considered the best VR kit available and bests this headset in literally every way.

I only give it 4 stars because the controllers are the same. The Index has the better controllers. People talk poorly about the comfort, but I think it fits perfect. A little bit heavy in the front, but nothing that bothers me much. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase, and would highly recommend it. The reason I choose the Vive is for quality. I've read about the Index not being the best quality, and having problems (breaking) after the first 6 months of use. For a thousand dollars I expect it to last (at the very least) until the next gen comes out.

Very easy to set up, headset is very comfortable. As for the controls and the interface, they work at real time. There is no perceivable delay between a movement in the real world, and motion in the game.

I like it. Really don't care for the controllers. And the halo headband really needs to be stronger. Other than that I like it better than the Oculus Rift S....

I like how well it fits and how well it runs on my laptop. Really no issues with it, other than it gets really sweaty! But we just have individual handkerchiefs we use, so that works!

Very good VR set. I did alot of research before buying, and got this for my son. This is the basic package, and I would recommend getting the additional body sensors, and wireless adapter for it. (I haven't bought it yet, due to the $. My son gets tangled in the cord when playing). He enjoys it, and it appears that the graphics are good.

2 years ago I bought the vibe for older boy 14 and other then a camera is sushi he was iced under warranty and an specific cord that breaks after 6 months and costs $79 to replace It was a good game that he loved and plays a lot. So recently bought this newer version as the one I bought 2 years ago isn’t available. Right away the glitches .. hands just disappear every 30 Seconds while playing a game and if your a gamer you know that makes game play terrible! So I’m 2 years they have doubled the price and the quality has gone down. I would recommend buying a used older version over this one. He rarely plays it because it’s to frustrating he has looked up and tried everything to fix it but so far it’s about as good quality as the $15 headsets that you buy for your cell phone. Not worth the price at all!!!!!!!

Probably one of the best VR systems on the market. You will need a pretty powerful computer for it to run good.

Honestly I think the Cosmos Elite is a step down in a lot of ways from the previous Vive/Vive Pro. Sure, the resolution is higher but because of the more aggressive Fresnel lenses they use on the Cosmos, you lose a lot of clarity in the periphery which shrinks the "sweet spot" significantly and they have pretty severe ring reflections and ghosting making for an overall worse experience. Doing the popular Gear VR lens swap makes it much better, but that's another $100 that has to be added to the already too high price, requires warranty voiding modification and depending on the lenses, may require software modification to avoid barrel distortion. Not something the more casual user should undertake as you can destroy your headset if you are not careful. Another small nitpick is the other components that come with it. The "lighthouse" sensors are the older v1 model and the controllers are the same basic wand that came with the old model, not the newer, more accurate design. For the higher price tag, these could have at least been the newer versions. My biggest gripe is the new headstrap design. In order to make the front panel able to swing upwards, which is admittedly useful, they changed the strap design to one which isn't as sturdy. The side effect being that with rapid head movements, the headset will slide around and you have to take an extra second to reposition it every time to get the very small sweet spot back where you want it. There are user modifications to improve this, but like the lenses, it shouldn't be up to the user to fix something that wasn't broken last time around. I really can't think of any truly redeeming improvements over the older Vive Pro. In my opinion, if you are looking to go the Vive route, save some money and get the older Vive Pro model, the slightly higher resolution is not worth the downsides and definitely not the higher price tag. Out of the box, my $250 Odyssey Plus had a better view.

Product defective out of the box. Hasn't worked since Xmas day. Can never get anyone on the phone. They keep putting responsibility on us. Geek Squad protection plan and Best Buy Total Care are both a complete joke and waste of money. Will never purchase from Best Buy again!!!
