Headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall good product, disappointed that the replacement plan was $24.99 on the PlayStation branded headphones, the non-PlayStation headphones have a replacement plan that costs $9.99; unfortunately Best Buy did not have those in stock.... they cost $74.99 and first set only lasted 9 months, we will see how long these last.

Average headset
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These do the job but tend to have issues within a year with moderate use. Not sure why, but I've fone through at least 2 sets and they get placed down and worn gently.

Out of Five Headsets - I Think I'll Stick to These
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My headset recently broke so I started my search for a new pair for my PS4. If this endeavor has taught me anything it is that headsets are incredibly subjective to the person using them. I found headsets that people loved and raved but there was something missing for me and the reverse is true. With all that being said, hopefully I help someone out there but ultimately it is up to you to try and see if it fits your taste. Headset's I have tried before choosing this headset: 1) Hyper X Cloud Alpha 2) Playstation Gold (New Version) 3) Turtle Beach Stealth 700 4) CoolerMaster MH752 5) Hyper X Cloud PS4 Edition 1) Hyper X Cloud Alpha This headset had good sound, a lot of bass and mic quality was satisfactory however I could not hear myself talk to the point where it was distracting. Also the comfort level wasn't there for me, I do not have dumbo ears but it felt crowded and really heated up my ears. Returned. 2) Playstation Gold These headsets had really good sound! In fact if it wasn't for the really disappointing built-in mic and the awkward controls for the sound/mic volume, I would have probably stayed with these. Everyone told me that I sounded incredibly muffled as if I was talking behind a pillow case. Also when I tried to adjust the volume mix for the game and chat it was incredibly awkward and annoying. There is not a separate wheel or independent control for each but instead the buttons either prefers the game audio or the chat audio. I found every time I played that I had to readjust this mic. Such a disappointment. Maybe the platinums would be better but for the price I wasn't going to try. Returned. 3) Turtle Beach Stealth 700 This headset had a very hollow sound for me is the best I can describe. The bass felt off and it was almost if the audio wasn't lined up together? It's hard to describe, it just wasn't there for me. Other than the audio, I liked this headset with its Bluetooth addition where you can use and hear your mobile phone while using the headset. Also the controls were in a good place and I liked that I just had to raise the mic to mute. My team mates said I sounded good as well. 4) Cooler Masters MH752 This headset is one of the lightest and the most comfortable headsets out of any of them including the PS4 Hyper X's. This headset is also superior to all the other headsets if they were being used exclusively on the PC. However on the PS4, the sound was weak and the volume was too low. There also wasn't enough bass for my taste. I found myself trying to find the directional audio since I play a number of FPS games. Even with full volume on the PS4 and "Super Bass" on the Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 options, I still found it disappointing. The mic was fine, my team mates didn't really say it was better or not than the previous headsets. I know this is a new headset and if Cooler Masters ever does a firmware upgrade to fix my above complaints, I would have no hesitation to go back to these. I tried contacting their support to see if this was planned but after 3 business days and no response, I returned. 5) Hyper X Cloud PS4 Version This headset has a great sound with a nice bass feel to it. I can easily distinguish where foot steps are and generally helps me better in FPS games than the previous headsets. While the comfort is not to the level as the MH752's, they are still one of the better ones that i've tried. My team mates also reported that I sounded better with this mic, saying I was more "crisp and clear". Summary - So there it is, my adventures on finding a headset. Please don't take my review verbatim - I hope it guides you to find your next ideal pair. Hearing and audio enjoyment is incredibly subjective so it will take you to put some effort in buying, trying and returning if there is something you are not happy with. Don't just settle. Good luck out there!
