Pros: nice image, looks good, has remote Cons: cannot rotate images that are upside down if the images have been taken with a cell phone, stand does not work and falls out. I bought this frame after I returned another one that did not rotate my images. This frame has a rotate button as well as a menu option, if you press up you can select rotate. However, the image will not be saved after rotating and the photo will display upside down when it comes back to it. There is a program you can download on a computer to manually rotate your pictures before you put them in the frame. However, the last frame I returned had me download this program and when I did, the program failed to run. Apparently, if the photo was not taken with a cell phone then the frame automatically rotates the image. The stand is supposed to click into two positions. From the pictures I attached you can see the stand has two notches protruding from a circle. These notches are guided into two openings, then you are supposed to rotate the stand until it clicks into place (notches align with plastic piece). The other picture shows the two plastic pieces inside the circle behind the frame. These plastic pieces are flush with the circle that the notches protrude out of. It is physically impossible to align them because there is about 1/4 of an inch discrepancy in the tip of the notch and the plastic piece. One review did say if you push it hard enough it clicks in, which makes no sense to me. I think it is important to know that you cannot edit a review on best buys website. I purposely wait to leave reviews because of a previous experience when I couldn't change my review for a product. Maybe this is why these defects are not mentioned in a lot of other reviews. I returned this item.

A simple way to bring your photos out from their digital jails so that you can enjoy them! We have three of of these pictures frames, each with about 4 years worth of memories and the frames are stacked right next to each other in a common area of the house. It has made a dramatic impact on our family as we get to revisit moments from childhood to recent events. We often find ourselves standing in front of them fascinated, as we relive, discuss and laugh. And it has made a positive impact on the teens who now have evidence of how small they were, their antics, the experiences that they were given, and how much love they received. Technically, the picture quality is very good for the viewing distance. Really excellent for the price. It is bright and easily viewable in a brightly lit room. The colors look believable. We have it set on random transition mode, switching photos every 30 seconds, and sequentially showing photos from all folders (called “directories” in the menu.). Photo transitions are equally spaced, smooth and crisp. We have filled the screen with the photos because we felt that it looked better than having black bars on the side, even at the expense of losing some of the image as it is cropped on the top and bottom. Even in that fill mode, we do not detect a loss of image quality nor distortion. Some limitations we encountered: We were unable to get the unit to work with a brand new memory card so we are using USB storage. There is no mention of the maximum USB storage limit supported by the unit, but a follow up with the manufacturer revealed that 32GB is the upper limit. The Random photo display mode is woefully inadequate and will cycle through the same pictures even when there are almost tens of thousands to choose from. It will not automatically rotate portrait mode photos. They must be set that way before loading the picture frame. We are not using the calendar because it limits the image size and resets when there is a power loss. We have many other places for calendar reference so the feature is not missed. An older unit from the same manufacturer tends to freeze and require rebooting but the units being reviewed here have been running for about 3 weeks non stop. Definitely a great buy.

I bought this display to replace an older 7" display based upon reviews, price, and feature set. The TFT LCD display is clear and offers contrast, brightness, and saturation settings. There are the usual calendar, clock, photo display modes alone with various transition effects. You can also set the display to turn on and off at a specific time and, with limitations, specific days. This is one area where the frame is limited to once, everyday, weekdays, or weekends. This is adequate but our older Sony frame allowed the user to turn the unit on or off for any time range for any day of the week. Overkill, perhaps, but it was a nice feature. This frame does not accept CF memory cards which should not be an issue for most users since those cards are mostly used in professional level cameras. SD and Memory Stick work on this frame. One drawback (or feature I have not yet discovered) is the inability to turn the unit off if you manually turn on the slideshow using the remote. There is no "off" button on the remote control so it appears you have to operate the power on/off slide switch on the back of the unit to stop the slideshow. Some reviewers complained about the stand not working correctly allowing the frame to tip over. I suspect they did not turn the support fully until it clicked into place. It takes considerable force to fully engage the stand into the locked position. Since the support is plastic the user may feel they are about to break it before they get it fully engaged. There are more expensive, feature rich frames on the market but so far I think this digital picture frame offers a great display for the money.

I gave this as a gift to my wife as a present as I had given her one many many years ago, and another one more recently. She really likes it!!! The others were a Kodak and a Phillips brand. I decided this time to try the Insignia (Best Buy) brand. The Kodak and Phillips are both still working but the Kodak one is decades old, the LED screen is not very bright, it can only handle up to 2GB, and I had to buy a new line adapter for it since the old one was becoming a fire hazard. The Phillips works well because it is newer. I wasn't looking for one that would be wi-fi, or bluetooth enabled. I just wanted a frame that would either play a flash drive or an sd card, and would have a clock function so it would not run 24 hours a day--just between 7am and 11pm. This fit the bill and was on sale when I bought it. I was also impressed with the wooden frame. It was classy and matched our decor. I noticed someone said they had received one where the wood was damaged, and all the stock in his nearest store was also damaged. I didn't see any problem like this at all. It is attractive, easy to use and we are both very pleased with this.

Got this on recommendation of store employee to replace another electronic photo frame that quit working. It is for a 90+ y.o. to load family pics, many older ones of poor quality or low dpi. The photos are quick to load and the picture displayed is way better than any other frame that I have seen, and I have tried many with my own SD card loaded with our own pics. This photo frame prefers JPG format photo files. The operating system of someone in their nineties is a bit worn and this frame goes a ways to make up for their rummy photo receptors. This frame loads pictures smoothly and without glitches. The included remote is useful. The operating system is straight forward and logical. There are a variety of settings to switch from one photo to the next which should be able to satisfy the most picky user. The housing (frame) this unit is quality made and not an embarrassment to set on a shelf of most homes. The nonagenarian that this was bought for is very happy with it ["I can see it quite well."] I would definitely make this purchase again if I had the choice at a do-over.

Lasted two years then stopped working

I bought the frame Nov 2015 and it stopped working Jan 2018 for no reason. I tried all of the trouble shooting I could find, then contacted Support. Support had me do all of the things I already tried (I get it, they have to make sure all of the trouble-shooting steps have been followed). After some back and forth I was told the one year warranty had expired (which I stated in my initial email to Support) and they couldn't do anything for me. I was expecting an offer of a refurbished model, a discount on a new one, etc. Nothing. Their solution was to provide the model number of their newest frame so that I could purchase a new one. My response was that I was not going to purchase the exact same product that had just failed on me. I would expect a product like this to last quite a long time as there is no wear and tear and it really doesn't do much other than display what's on the SD card. It was a nice frame while it lasted, but I will be looking to Amazon for my next one.

This is not a high end picture photo frame so don't purchase it thinking it is something that it's not. I bought it as a Christmas gift for my grandma. Be aware you are purchasing a wide frame photo frame with a 16:9 ratio so standard 3:2 ratio (i.e. 4x6 photos) will be automatically resized to fit or you will see black on the edges. With that said, I changed the ratio in Adobe Lightroom to 16:9 and loaded a SD card with the images and the frame was great. I found it easy to edit and format the pictures on my computer than the awkward controls of the frame. Don't expect IPad Pro retina quality for this price point; howerver the quality is fine for a mid to lower end frame of this size. Note: I am a professional photographer and all the photos shot to put on the photo frame were with a Nikon d750 with a variety of low aperture lenses... and professionally edited and formatted to fit the frame. Honestly, I am not sure how regular phone photos would turn out on the frame. A lot of the success of this product will be determined on skill.

    Poor Quality Product

I ordered this frame online and received a damaged product. There were pieces of the frame chipped off underneath the glass of the frame. I called Best Buy customer service and they expedited a replacement to me with a prepaid return label. However, this item was also damaged with markings along the wood. I then took both back to a Best Buy store and sifted through about 10-12 boxes in the store to find one in acceptable condition. It is very upsetting that I ordered online for convenience and still had to make a trip to the store. This was specifically requested as a gift otherwise I would not have paid for this product. Very disappointed in the quality control for this product. You'd think that since it is a digital picture frame meant to be looked at, there would be an extra step in place to make sure the frame/glass looks presentable and free of scuffs/gouges/ imperfections. Would not recommend this item and definitely not worth the price.

This thing barely lasted 5 months - running ~8 hours each day - before dying. I should have known this item was suspect when I was completing the setup of the unit and it suddenly went dark for no reason. When that happened, I restarted it and it came on to the proper brightness, but was not always clear with the images. Saturday I come in to the area where it is in use and watched as the screen just slowly dimmed until it was dark. I tried turning it off and back on, but the screen did nothing. Finally after looking at it from a near parallel angle, I could see the images. I spent nearly an hour trying to reset it, change the settings for Brightness, change the contrast, the color, etc. Nothing worked to brighten the screen in any way. I brought it home and tried numerous ways with no avail. Bluntly, it would have been better for me to put up an old fashioned photo album than this piece of junk. Will not be considering Best Buy as a source in the future for such products.

Ive seen bad digi frames. This is not bad. Actually its pretty nice. Resolution of my HD images are good enough. Above average slide show transition effects to choose from. Havent figured out yet if I can rotate image and have it stay rotated. So far keeps reverting back. So you may have to make sure all your pics are properly rotated. Or maybe I just cant figure out how to make it stick within the frame's software. Minor gripe. Good choice of media acceptance. Reads my SD card flawlessly. Nice looking simulated wood finish and the matted effect even nicer. Makes a difference, enhances the beauty of it all, and makes the image seem larger than it really is. Maybe a tad pricey at $70 but relatively fair price considering the nice looking frame and matted effect.

Need to resize photos to display

Can't beat the price of this frame and overall I like it. Problem was it wasn't displaying many of the photos I had loaded onto the USB drive (it just showed a question mark in browse mode). After doing some digging, I figured out I needed to resize the photos. Easiest way to do in Windows that was to right click on the group of photos, select Send To -> Mail Recipient. It then gives you some size options - I chose small. Once it attached the smaller files to an email, I moved them from the draft email to the flash drive and they all display in the frame now. The files were not that big to start with, but it seems to be more about pixels than megabytes. Too much work IMO, but this cheapo is sticking with the frame given the price paid.

I earlier bought 4 of these as gifts for friends and family members and they are working fine. I got this one for myself and it worked fine for couple of days and then one morning i didn't picture and saw vertical white lines on black display. I took it back to best buy to exchange the product and thought of taking some protection plan. But the protection plan is almost 25% of the product price and i thought that's expensive to spend on the product with protection plan. I didn't exchanged the product and i returned the defective one and the representative acted so weird. I not sure of his problem in taking return.

I have been reading the comments on various "strange names" brands originating from China (with a lot of negatives), and I have decided to buy this unit because of known to me brand and good comments. The price was right and the performance of the picture frame was acceptable. The nice touch was a combination of the calendar + picture. The setup was flawless, and I have tested chip and USB ports to run the slide show. The only quirk is that the device does not react to a remote control quickly. Sometimes, you have to press the button twice until the screen switched to a desired option.

So I got this for my parents for Christmas, which is great for giving them lots of photos and you can add new photos several different ways. The internal memory isn't much so I recommend getting an sd card to add more photos. The frame size is kind of odd, so I formatted most my photos in Photoshop to assure quality of the image since the screen can't handle too high of a resolution. Its photo quality isn't great but its decent for its price. The frame at first took a while to listen to commands with its buttons but after a few tries it warmed up and responded quickly, though you might have to be patient with it.

I was looking for a classy looking LCD photo frame and I could not believe how few photo frames were available that looked like a wooden frame. This LCD offered a quality picture and did exactly what I needed it to do. Buyers should beware that mixing portrait and landscape photos may be unhappy when they realize it is difficult to do. Which every way you plan on setting up your LCD Frame, plan to use pictures that were taken in that aspect. You can crop and edit photos to fit that aspect, but it can be time consuming to a new user and may be a sticking point for anyone who is looking to buy a LCD photo frame. All in all I am happy with this frame and love the look of it.

I bought this as a gift for my Grandmother and she loves it. I tried it out and set it up (with memory card) before giving it to her. I found it easy to navigate and the quality of the pictures displayed is great. She loved it and found it easy to use. I like the fact that it came with a remote so she can hang it on the wall and choose to have it stay on a single picture or cycle through all the pictures. My only complaint was that when you choose to have the clock/calendar display on the screen, it displays pretty small on half of the screen and the picture is displayed on on the other half leaving a lot of wasted screen space. Other than that, great purchase.

This was supposed to be a gift for my elderly mother. The plan was pretty basic: 1) pretty wood frame; 2) I load the photos onto the frame for her. BUT: 1) It's not wood; it's just brown plastic; 2) It has no memory; you can't load photos; you have to leave your memory stick attached to the frame permanently. (I don't think these requirements are so unusual. They should consider making what I'm looking for. Why must all the frames be black (and one which is an ugly distressed wood)? Please make one that's a nice wood frame.) I returned this.

Bought this as a gift for my mom, and she loves it. It helped us organize her many loose and scattered photos into a cohesive way for her to see them. Frame is attractive and photos have decent resolution. Limited choices for duration of each photo on slideshow--5 sec, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, and so on. More timing choices especially under 30 seconds would be nice. Also, would be useful if there was option to restart slideshow at a photo other than the first one in the file each and every time. Still, for the price, it is impressive to have a device that does this.

I read reviews which I now agree with. I was looking for substantial size and quality resolution. I worried before I opened the box but all apprehension was removed when I uploaded my dads pics. This was a fathers day gift. I uploaded pics of my first vacation that I took pops on. He was ELATED. I never expected real wood but the frame has a higher quality look than the black or silver frames. High quality pictures and three different displays. Two calendar and clock versions or a picture only display. The display times for the pictures can be adjusted also. Best buy in the place!!

In a sea of these things, good features at a reasonable price without things you don't need. Automatically selects portrait or landscape with position (like a tablet) and automatically sizes image. Plays images in order loaded and includes a remote control. Has time and calendar function (if you like) and pretty intuitive to set up. Viewing angle is pretty good but contrast/brightness interaction can take a little tweaking for good results. I bought for my invalid mom to enjoy and she has.
