I purchased this in store for 60$ about 6 months ago. It is connected to a Insignia 50" LED TV. The sound is much better than the TV and the TV is DTS certified. The TV sound isn't horrible but just not loud enough like most TVs with 5 or 8 watts of sound. I have it connected through the RCA though the best way to connect this would be through optical. This would also be ideal for a PC speaker at 60$. It produces good bass with decent mids. The highs are not that great. It's a cheap product like most Insignia products are intended for. The 50" Insignia TV I have produces a very great image. It is a VA 1080p 60 hertz TV and I have to say it does produce an image comparable to other brands for the price.

I had no problem until now , it's been more than a month I've been using it.
It took a bit of time to set up initially but I don't think it'll usually take a long time to set up. And the sound quality is simply awesome. You couldn't expect that nice sound quality with an equalizer for that price.
( I bought it for $39 only )

I purchased this as an open box item for $199.00
Wasnt really sure what to expect but on the box it said alexa compatible which i wanted and the brand similar on display was very good sound. So after a week of using it i happy to say i got a very good deal . Using this for tv or listening to music on amazon through alexa is great .turning it up load with base for music was stunning . I didnt think you could get this bar that loud although it has a sub it is very surprising Knowing this , i think it is worth the 100 $ more it usually sells for.

Great Soundbar for the money

The Soundbar arrived earlier than expected and was easy to set up. We've used it about a month now
and it's made a great improvement in our TV viewing experience... no more constant adjustment up and down.
There's a slight lag/latency if you use the bluetooth connection for TV sound, but connecting an optical audio cable from the TV took care of the latency problem. It'll also has RCA input connectors, so is compatible with older TVs.
Connecting your phone to the soundbar via bluetooth is quite easy and the sound is pretty good, especially with the DSP filter settings; I'd like more control, but good for this price point.
An unexpected plus is that our TV controllers had Insignia audio programming available, so we can disable the TV audio and adjust the soundbar volume with TV controllers without having to hunt for a separate clicker.
Happy with the purchase.

I have a Samsung soundbar with bluetooth subwoofer that keeps losing the connection and is a pain to pair up again. The TV speakers on my 52" LG is terrible so I just needed something that would provide decent sounds at reasonable volumes.
I've had good experiences with the Best Buy Insignia house brand products before and this soundbar is no exception. The sound is good and the volume range high enough for others to yell "turn it down" on occasion. The sound range is fairly limited as would be expected, so don't expect much bass, though it's fine for dialog and doesn't sound 'tinny'. I didn't notice much difference with the included sound effects. Overall for the money it's tough to beat and I have no regrets.

This sound bar is really great for the price, especially when it is on sale. I haven’t found a cheaper sound bar anywhere that is a “real” sound bar. Most are those very small cheap ones with a volume knob on the side. This bar gets very loud and has great highs and lows. There’s nothing better for 39.99

If you can get this on sale, it's a steal. I got it as a Deal of the Day to replace a no-name brand that was actually itself a replacement for a Vizio. It cost less than the no-name brand and works dramatically better.
Sound is pretty good and the remote works properly. Can't ask for much more at this price. I personally feed the audio out from my TV via optical cable to this speaker. It's certainly not comparable to a full system, but it outshines most any TV speakers.

Nice sound, definitely better than tv speakers, as far as the issues other purchasers noted:
1) You MUST use an optical digital cable, and you MUST set TV output to “PCM”, or all you’ll hear is a screeching sound!
2) When using, I press the power button 10 times before expecting response.
3) To change volume or any other settings, I press whichever button continuously until getting the desired result.
4) ONLY purchase it if it’s on sale, it’s NOT worth more than $50.00, that way you’ll only be SLIGHTLY disappointed.
As far as 2 & 3, sure they’re slightly annoying, but it’s a minor inconvenience when you consider the price.
I have a VIZIO 42” soundbar on my living room TV, and this one sounds JUST as good!

I paired this soundbar up with a cheap LCD TV. TV sound was abysmal, but typical for low-end LCD TV's. Was a little skeptical about purchasing this soundbar because it was cheap, but didn't want to spend a bunch of money for a family member that wouldn't probably notice the difference.
I can't tell you that the sound bar is the best thing ever, but when we did an A/B comparison between the 2, it was like a night & day difference. Sound was full & clear, with different sounds modes to improve dialog or dimensionality. Again, look at the price point & judge based on that. It dramatically improved the sound at a decent price for a non-discerning family member, so it fit the bill exactly.

I got it for fifty bucks to "enhance my 4k experience." The speakers on my Insignia 4k Roku TV are pretty wimpy. Certain apps like Hulu and Netflix are barely audible when streaming shows. Dunno why this is, but the soundbar makes it much louder. It comes with its own remote, but I can operate it with the Roku TV remote if aimed properly. I think that you have to connect an optical cable and turn the TV speakers off to do so. The Roku app on my phone won't control it either, for some reason. All in all, it is definitely worth fifty bucks.

I purchased this soundbar while it was on sale over the holidays for $40. I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised at how powerful it is! The sound is crisp and clear & It's loud and effective. My surround sound system is 100 times better. I ran out and bought one for every TV in my house. I also like that it's discreet. It doesn't have the Logo pasted on the front face like some other soundbars. The only complaint I have is it didn't come with an optical cable. I had to buy them separately. The cables that came with the system were useless. Other than that, it"s a great investment.

Bought this to enhance the sound quality of my Samsung 6 series TV in my bedroom. After reading reviews I purchased the optic connector as well which was very easy to setup. I was able to program my Directv remote easily, however I am not able to control the volume with my Samsung remote (used for apps, Netflix, prime). For the price and quality of sound, I am willing to sacrifice the inconvenience of the Samsung remote not adjusting the sound, but would be a plus, which is the reason for 4 and not 5 stars.

I think the sound quality is very decent especially for the price. The only issue I found with this item is that after a while, you have to press the remote a couple of times before the item reconnects. Say you finished watching tv, or using the sound bar then turned it off or just let it idle. Next time (say after 10 hours) if you press the power button on the remote of the soundbar, it won't come on. You need to press it like say 5 or 6 times, then it comes on and starts responding as normal. Might be an intentional setting but I did not border reading the manual, so wouldn't know

I was looking for affordable speakers to set up a turntable in my bedroom when I stumbled across this soundbar. For my purposes, you really can't beat Insignia quality coupled with the price. I use the optical input with my tv as well now, so the bluray player, cable, and chromecast audio is all available thru the soundbar too. It's bluetooth is also a great feature. The remote is compact and comes with a battery, although that only lasted a few months. Easy enough to replace that, will see if the remote just chews through batteries, or perhaps the one that came with the unit was just older.

It’s a decent soundbar for price. I purchased two of them on sale to add to TVs in an exercise room. They definitely help with the sound while on exercise equipment. They aren’t going to blow your socks off but they definitely help with sound. Only thing I wish was different was 1) wish it came with an optical cable, but not the end of the world and 2) had an auto detect function so it comes on/shuts off with cable tv remote. I was able to get cable tv remote to control the volume, but not turn the soundbar on and off.

The Insignia 2.0 was the perfect solution for my elderly mom's TV, a great-looking Samsung with a blown left speaker. I attached the soundbar to her TV with a separate bracket and connected the wires in mere moments. The sound it produces is now superior by far to what the TV ever achieved, even when it was new. This is not a device for audiophiles, by any means, but it was a perfect workaround for my mom. As a bonus, you can use it as a Bluetooth speaker (though that is a technological step too far for her, alas). Recommended.

Good sound quality. The cords that come with it are oddly shaped so they are bent when they are sitting there plugged in. So hopefully they don’t short out or anything. In order to use this sound bar with another one of my tv’s, I had to buy a different cord. The instructions did mention that you may need a certain cord if you don’t have a certain hookup. I bought a different cord and hooked it right up. The set up isn’t too confusing and the instructions were very informative. I’d recommend this.
