We feel the microwave looks great. The power is good. What we didn't notice was the handle has an extra step to open it. I would prefer it didn't. When the 30 second rotation is complete, the food item in the microwave ends up in the back. Small inconveniences.

I wanted an inverter microwave and after looking at the reviews for the name brand ones I decided they didn't seem worth the extra money. So far this one works great. Food cooks evenly, it's very quiet, and the popcorn button is working great full time. Happy with purchase.

OVERALL This is a really big boy, be sure to measure your space. From a modern stainless appearance with preset cook options and useful features, this has something most are seeking in a microwave. It arrives with instructions in multiple languages that detail its use functions fairly well. It evenly defrosts and is surprisingly quiet during operation, considering this is 1200w. Slightly more powerful than my previous microwave at 1000w but far more noisy during use. HANDS-ON This model design is a first for me. More specifically, the mechanism to opening the microwave. My previous was a push bar under the keypad. I've also owned pull handle design that releases when force is applied. This one's similar with a slight difference adding a button in the handle that needs to be pressed to release the door. Heating up liquids, such as milk, is a speedy process that takes a few seconds to complete. Ready baked goods cook well and evenly heats the entire dish. It's incredibly spacious; you could likely defrost a turkey in it. Adjustable power levels is something new I haven't seen before, while interesting and semi useful. I haven't seen a huge need for it. Maybe with more testing or a variation of food types. Sensor cooking has been the absolute best feature for me. While, admittedly, I haven't found a product that I can truly leave on it's own to heat to perfection, it gets very close. More specifically, it works as you'd expect applying a variation of power levels which can be heard from the varying audible sounds it produces, I've yet to find a product I can entirely leave it to the sensor to heat to perfection. Products with any type of filling, take out pizza, or leftovers from the previous night dinner, I can't seem to leave it alone as it either dries, the filling bursts or the cheese/toppings harden before it stops. I've found myself staying nearby to listen to any sizzling sounds as that seems to be about a perfect temp. While not an important issue, I do wish this unit came with a 90⁰ angle plug. If your outlet rests right behind it, you'll need to position it further on the countertop to accommodate the space required for that cable run. CONCLUSION The Insignia 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave with Sensor Cooking and Inverter Technology is feature packed and a user-friendly microwave oven. It's ideal for those looking for a reliable and easy-to-use kitchen appliance. This is HUGE! Large dishes can be warmed! Easy to operate and view the control panel.
