I really like this charger. It's a larger than others. But with arthritis in hands, easier to grab to plug & unplug. Also has room for 2 devices to charge at same time. Price is compatible to others plugs.

The product is an Adapter from Electrical Outlet to USB-C fitting / cord usually for Cell phone charging. This Adapter would be much more useful and cost effective w/ also a Std. USB Port as well.

This is a great USB -C charger. It works very well and Im impressed on how fast it charges my phone. Its sturdy on the wall, which is good because I’ve own several wall charge block that are very lose. This one has a good grip. I like that the plug are foldable. Make’s it easier to store. Not as bulky are other brands. Doesn’t seem to get overheated. I do wish it would’ve come with the cable as well. That would of been a plus. Now a days everything is sold separate. In my opinion this wall charger seems to do the job just right. I could definitely say better than the original charger for my iphone. I also charged my earpods and within a few minutes they were completely charged. I can’t complain. If you need a wall charger this is the ONE! Its definitely worth every single penny. Give this charger a try and you won’t regret it. I absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade/ change their wall charger. My family and I are constantly on our devices and this Insignia wall charger helps us keep our devices well charged. Very Impressed.

Amazing and powerful charging brick. Compared to other chargers (and even the stock ones) its way smaller, very compact. It has a USB type C port (only one). I like that the metal prongs that go into the wall are foldable, it definitely saves spaces when on the go and does not go poking your stuff around if you keep it inside your device's case i.e. It's a 30w brick and I use it to charge my iPad 9th gen and also my iPhone 13 and it charges them super fast and never gets hot. It will also charge a Macbook Air no problem. A cable was not included but I have tons of Lightning cables to USB type C lying around. Don't get fooled, it says it can charge most Apple devices, but you can use it to practically charge any device that needs up to those 30w of power via regular USB Type C cables. I have used it to charge headphones and other stuff around my house with no problem at all, super convenient. I highly recommend this little power brick, its priced very well and its super powerful and so convenient to carry around too!

I was at my daughter’s house, where her two kids both have well protected iPads. I was pleased to see how well the kids treat the iPads. Their only frustration is when the get low batteries, and or they die. With the supplied apple charger (she has one 5w and one 10w, that came with the iPads). Some time the 5w charger won’t have fully charged the iPad in 8 hrs. Needless to say, the kids are impatient, and will use their iPads while charging, which means with a 5w charger it’s tough to catch up. The 10w is a bit better. Since Apple finally started shipping iPads with 12w chargers, to better compete with Samsung's faster power delivery system (USB-C). Now their newest ship with 20w, but they have been slow to supply better/faster chargers (and their faster chargers are much bigger). On the up side this is so easy to fix, with third party modern chargers like this Insignia 30w charger (they have others that are more powerful with multiple charging ports). The iPad air was the first apple product to ship with a USB-C charging port, but earlier products with lightning connectors can still take advantage of more powerful chargers. Chargers with higher wattages can deliver more power faster, USB-C chargers all also offer power delivery/fast charging, where the charging product can request that the charger send a higher voltage than the default 5v (7.5,10,15,20v…) these higher voltages allow the charging device to charge much more quickly (up to 4-5x faster) especially with smart batteries that charge the first 80% as fast as possible, and then trickle charge the last 20%, which helps preserve battery life and prevents over charging. Smart lithium-ion batteries are a far cry from the nicad batteries from the 90’s. These new batteries in combination with smart chargers like this 30w Insignia charger are not only faster, but they are batter for the batteries than dumb constant voltage chargers. As an experiment I completely de-charged my iPad and my iPad Air to see how long it would take each to reach 80% with this charger. The iPad took 95 minutes, but my iPad Air only took 52 minutes (I know the iPad Air uses later/better higher power charging (and has a larger battery). Both took over 60 minutes to get to a full 100%. I de-charged the iPad and repeated the test with apples 12w charger, and it took 280 minutes to get to 80%, almost 3 times longer, and 100 more to get to 100%. You need to think of the wire from the charger as being a straw, if the charger has a lower wattage the straw is smaller, you can only get so much thought. A smarter charger with more wattage provides a bigger straw that can expand as requested by the device to be charged to get wider, to charge faster (a combination of Ohm’s law and Watts law if you are really interested in why). In any case this higher wattage fast charges will charge you smart devices faster and more efficiently. And it smaller and lighter than most others with a fold in plug as a nice safer bonus. An all-around winner (hope the grand kids appreciate it).

    Compact And Easy To Transport

Like the description says, this Insignia USB-C compact wall charger is designed for the MacBook Air or the iPad. But in reality it can be used with many other USB-C devices. Not only does it easily charge smartphones, but It can even trickle charge some laptops. The small size and retractable prongs make this charger easy to transport in a small bag. In addition, the 30W power rating will allow it to do double duty as a smartphone and iPad or MacBook Air charger. I tested how long it would take to top off my Ipad battery from nearly depleted, and it took about 1.75 hours, which is a big improvement over the charger that came with my Ipad. I have included pictures contrasting it with a typical 5W adapter to show how compact it is for being 30W. The prongs feel tight but are easy to operate. They open and close with a satisfying click. They sna enough open and close with a satisfying movement that feels like they won’t move unl;ess you move it.level of operation. I tested this adapter with a few of my UCS-C equipped laptops with mixed results. My Lenovo Chromebook recognized and accepted a charge, but with the warning that discharge will occur in excess of the charge it was getting. So in other words it uses more power than it is receiving. But the discharge rate will be slower than it normally would on battery power alone. I left my Lenovo laptop charging overnight and this adapter was able to fully charge it over about 8 hours. Other laptops do not accept a charge from low power adapters So when using it with a laptop, your mileage will vary. For a MacBook Air or iPad, this wall charger is an excellent choice! It works well, is easy to transport, and even works with some laptops.

So far I have been pleasantly happy with the performance of this USB C charging block. The block itself is heavy, in fact it’s noticeably heavier than its competition. The prongs that plug into the wall are spring loaded too which makes storing it in a drawer or travel case easy too. If the prongs are in the out position they lock into place. I find this as a neat feature as my other charging blocks do not have this. The unboxing was nothing special as it does not come with a USB C cable or anything outside of the charging block it self. The color of the charging block is comparable to all other wall plugs but the inner ring of the usb c cavity is actually blue which is a nice touch. All in all I have yet to find any issues with this charging block. Its spring loaded prongs click into place, it fits all usb C plugs that I have tried and it’s provided ample charge to its receiving devices. I use it for my laptop but the box indicates that it is suited for all usb c devices. Good price point for this device.

I think it's impressive how much smaller wall chargers have become over time. I am attaching a photo to compare to Apple's 30W charger. The Insignia charger is about 50% or less of the size. I also have a few 12W apple chargers that are the size of my 30W apple one. It's beneficial that the plugs can retract on this Insignia charger as well, further reducing the size. Compared to the 5W apple charger it is slightly larger, however with the pins contracted it is smaller. I used to charge an old MacBook Air with a 12W charger and a USB cable. Even that was decent. I can only imagine the increase it would be if I got a MacBook again. I've also been thinking of getting a new Apple Watch. I know chargers are not included in the box but the USB-C cable is. That faster charging watch, paired with this charging plug would be awesome! I have been using this instead of my 12W charger to charge my iPad and iPhone. My devices have been charging quicker! If you're looking for a small and fast portable charger, this Insignia charger is the one.

Good size charging brick for 30w. I use this for my Mackbook Air and it charges just as well if not faster than the brick that came with my computer. I also appreciate that it takes up less space on an outlet and that the prongs are fodlable.

Outstanding value for a quality USB-C charger

These days you can never have enough USB-C charging blocks around. USB-C is here, and it's going to be here for a while - and the Insignia 30W Compact Wall Charger works great at charging all of my tech. To be frank, I selected this to have in my kitchen on the counter where we tend to have devices piling up and needing to charge. It's typically always got a USB-C to Lightning cable attached, ready for anyone to plug in their phone conveniently. Lets get to the charging performance. Being the techie I am, I have a USB Current tester. In all cases, I could get at least 30 watts out of this charger as advertised. When charging the 16" M1 MacBook Pro, it delivered 20V at 1.5 amps. When charging my iPhone 12 Pro Max from a battery percentage in the teens, it delivered almost 10 volts at 2.5A. Doing the math on those numbers shows a full 30W output. A couple of features I like about this charger are the fact that it does not get overly warm when delivering full 30W charging - which tells me its either well insulated or is working efficiently. Another cool feature that not a lot of folks may notice - is the plug is not polarized, so you can plug it into an outlet in either orientation. If I had to say one negative thing about this charger, it is a bit thick - and if you have certain types of outlets or power strips, the size of this unit may interfere with plugging in something to an adjacent outlet. Overall though, I see adding a few of these around the house for general charging needs.

    Powerful Little Charging Cube

I feel like in the last five years companies have been phasing out their USB cords for the USB-C option, it creates a faster charge and it is becoming more and more universal. I’m glad that Insignia rolled out their line of charging blocks because there hasn’t been a company that I’ve seen that has done this. I actually really want the dual charging block so that I can charge my phone and my laptop. The construction and build doesn’t feel cheap either. I’ve had some charging cubes that pick up when I’m traveling and in a bind that I later regret ever purchasing. This isn’t going to charge a laptop faster than you charging cables that came with the laptop but it will help to add to an arsenal of cubes for other small tech devices. I’m traveling internationally soon so having this cube with my laptop is going to be helpful to save space in my backpack. It’s also not an eyesore on the wall and blends in really well so it isn’t a distraction that sits on the outlet. So far it’s charged various devices and it doesn’t heat up or get hot which I also really concerned me.

    Excellent charger for Apple products

This is a very solid-feeling and well-performing AC charger for all my Apple devices up to and including Mac computers, as well as other brands of devices. It is also dual voltage (100-240v, 50/60 Hz) so you can travel overseas with it. It works with cords which have USB-C connection to the charger and then your required connector to your Apple device. The only drawback is that it only has one port for a single cable. Also note that this is only the charger - no cable is included. This wall charger is rated at 30 watts. This compares very favorably to most chargers out there like the ones that come with iPhones that are typically only 5 wats or maybe 18 watts if you are lucky. Newer iPhones and iPads require at least 20 watts for "fast charging." My experience is that I can charge up my iPhone, for example, from 50% battery level to nearly 100% in about 20 minutes. The prongs/blades flip up and tuck inside the compact body, thus taking up lass space when traveling with the charger.

    Great build quality, questionable design

TLDR - Great build quality but design is a bit on the questionable side - It does what it is intended, charges my iPad, Phone, and accessories I will keep my review short since there is not much to say about a wall charger. I have always been a fan of insignia accessories and their electronics but I feel they took a big risk on this charger. The charger does what it is intended if you are on a pinch, which is great. You get a 30w output through the type C port which can charge you mac book, iPad, Phone etc. just fin, but when it comes to the design it is a bit unpractical. Sure it looks a bit interesting from far away, and it is something different but when you need it to fit somewhere it just doesn't cut it. The casing in general is just bulkier and oddly shaped compared to the competition. If you don't have many devices or use a power strip/hub then this wall charger will be just fine for you. But if you are someone that has several things plugged in a tight area or you are just trying to make it fit like behind your desk or bed, I would recommend getting something a little more practical.
