Customers enjoy the Roomba 690's excellent cleaning performance, ease of use, and pet hair removal capabilities. The app control and scheduling features are also frequently praised. However, some users find the navigation could be improved, and the noise level is a concern for a few. The small dustbin size and price point are additional drawbacks mentioned by some customers.

I was hesitant about getting an iRobot. Seemed like a gimmick to me. Boy was I wrong. The Roomba 690 is a great wifi enabled vacuum that gets the job done. It's a bit noisy running at about 65 decibels but If you set it to clean while you're away that won't be an issue. Set up is fairly straight forward. Download the app and follow the instructions and you should be good to go in a few minutes. Pros- Easy set up, Alexa enabled, self docking when the job is complete, kids love it. Also, an extra filter is included. Cons- have to fully charge when you get it (3 hrs), a bit noisy, doesn't always respond to the app. Overall the Roomba is very nice to have. You will still need to pick up a bit before letting him run loose. Basically anything you don't want to run over with an upright you don't want the Roomba going over. Very cool gadget that helps you around the house. If you're in the market for a Roomba you will be pleased with the 690.

Spent a ton of money on a shotty automated vacuum. Only works sometimes. Battery currently won’t charge and customer service is equally as unhelpful.

I unit is too big to ceal spaces in between chairs and dining table and in living room. Also need a more powerful cleaner with lay out memory, so i will buy a more efficient unit in the summer

The 690 is a good Roomba for a small apartment or single room. Coming from a higher 900 series device my opinion might be a bit skewed but the new 600-series does have all of the improved optics and cleaning accuracy that come with the higher end units but seems to be better suited to carpet than hard floors. Again, if you're looking for multi-room, multi-floor capabilities, seek out an 800 or 900 series Roomba. On carpets, in a single room, the 690 has become a keeper in our carpeted master bedroom. It's about the same noise level as comparable robot vacs, but only has one suction level, and is quiet enough to still enjoy TV or Music in nearby rooms when it's running. The battery life is MUCH improved over previous 6XX models I've used, and this one has adopted the accessories and body style of the last-gen higher end units. All in all Roomba seems like a more aligned product line. The line and area sensors work well to keep the vac out of a room or space, or away from the Christmas Tree/dog bowls/other unvaccumables. Definitely a well-made, easy to maintain product that takes away one more chore!!

This is an amazing Vacuum although I do have some complaints. I will start with all of the pros. It keeps your house vacuumed all the time and you do not have to do it yourself. Before I got the vacuumed I was worried the battery would die before it cleaned the whole house but what I found out is that it has a dock that it will return to and charge itself. As far as the cleaning it did a pretty good job cleaning my carpeted floor. My complaints are as follows. I consider myself to be a very techy guy and usually do not have to read instructions to figure something out. This is not the case for this vacuum you must read the instructions in order to operate it and take advantage of all its features. I had trouble connecting the app to control the robot and at this time I still have not figure out how to connect it for some reason. I think this is a great product and probably works fantastic but it does not seem very user friendly at least to the average use who would use it. In the following weeks after messing around with it i am sure I will figure it out and be able to use it to its full advantage.

    Very Good

This is a very good unit. It vacuums well and really works well getting the things from the side with it's spinning brush that knocks things in front of it. Honestly, my biggest problem is that it keeps getting stuck and complete a job cycle. It's very well designed to avoid most situations where it would get stuck, but my couches are apparently just the perfect height that if it approaches at the just the right angle that it gets itself wedged enough that it cannot get out. I still rate it 4 stars because when it's going, it maneuvers around well from room to room and gets back to it's base when it does not get stuck. It gets mostly everything that comes near. So it does it's job and I consider my furniture partially to blame for the problems. I would recommend it. One tip, if you know someone who has one, see if you can borrow it and test with your furniture.

I live in a house that has older style radiators. On the first run, the robot got stuck on one of them and it scratched the top of the device pretty badly... all because it couldnt detect it.

Setup was easy, just download the app and in about 90 seconds you are ready to go (after a 3 hour charge that is). The first time I let my Roomba loose it was a bit of a disaster. My home has a fair amount of clutter and it kept getting stuck under / in between the coffee table and recliner. But after rescuing it a few times I did notice it was going nicely under chairs and other objects which are quite difficult to get to manually. With just a few tweaks to my furniture layout and a little bit of decluttering, subsequent runs have been very successful. After running around it has successfully found its way back to the docking station ready to go again. I have a dog and this device is great at picking up her hair that seems to get everywhere. The floor is noticeably cleaner with regular runs and when I empty the bin, it is literally packed with dust and hair which tells me it is working. It may be a little pricy for this convenience but I am very glad to have it in my house.

I had been considering purchasing one of these as my brother has had one for awhile and really likes his. So when an opportunity to test this model came up I had to try it and I have to say I am impressed. It was very easy to setup but has, to me anyway, a strange process to connect it to your wifi. Once that is done there is an app you can download which you can use to monitor the Roomba, set up the days/times you want it to run, etc. Its a pretty good app but it seems to only work when the device you donwloaded it to is connected to your wifi, You cant do it remotely, say from another town - at least that I could determine. It seems very well built with a lot of thought going into its design. We have a single level house with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living, dining and family rooms with kitchen. These have 2 different tile patterns, low and mid length carpets with a few area and smaller rugs thrown in. The robot handled all of this with no issues. My wife and I are retired with no kids or pets living with us now - so our house probably isnt as active as some, and we like to think we keep it pretty clean. So we were really surprised at how much dirt it picked up the first few times we ran it. Our story is and we are sticking to it - it picked up most of the dirt from under the beds and furniture! It is interesting to watch how it weaves it way thru your house using its built in sensors and "bumpers". To me it seems rather random and I cant speak as to if it actually "learns" your houses layout. I did wind up picking it up a couple of times (it stops automatically) and moving it to another room - where you just press the clean button after setting it down and it is off again. To keep it out of rooms we just closed the door(s) but it does come with a "virtual barrier" that has 2 modes. One mode is the "wall" which electronically blocks your Roomba from entering a room, or passing a certain point of a room. The other mode is "halo" which sets up an area half moon shaped, to keep it out of a dogs food and water bowls, etc. This particular model runs about 60 minutes and it will dock itself before that time runs out (kind of neat to watch itself line up and "back" into its dock). We have been running it twice every day - manually starting it when we leave in the morning and then run it again about 4 hours later (seems to charge in about 2 hrs) with that time having been set using the app. We will probably wind up running it twice a day every few days or so - TBD. We are running it twice a day as to doesn't seem able to clean the whole house in 60 minutes. I have not noticed any marks on any of the trim, etc. but the unit itself does get a tad dusty and marked up. It does have suggested maintenance; 1) replace filter every 2 months (sure this depends on how much you run it). It does come with an extra. 2) replace Main Brush every 6 - 12 months. 3) front caster wheel every 6 - 12 months 4) replace side brush as needed These are not that expensive but something to be aware of. These can easily be ordered thru the website and/or the app. Overall very impressed and would definitely recommend. But I dont think it totally replaces the need to manually vacuum every once in awhile...

Always wanted a roomba. When I got the Roomba 690 I was not sure what to expect. The setup was a breeze, the initial use was comical :) . German Shepard/lab mix at first was scared and would come in and out of doggy door. As far as the cleaning the roomba came at around 1/4 charge out of the box and was doing an excellent job scouting/cleaning the large room. It never got stuck, and probably the worst damage that it did was pull some wires with it behind the tv while cleaning under the cabinet (no issue or harm done, just some zipties for next time. Afterwards it found its way back to charge up by itself. Second time I used it WAS AMAZED at how clean it made everything, used it with Alexa app and it found its way to pretty much all the rooms without any issue. The water bowl was not disturbed thanks to the little sensor that comes with it telling it not to get too close. ROOMBA is awesome! wow.
