Customers enjoy the Roomba 690's excellent cleaning performance, ease of use, and pet hair removal capabilities. The app control and scheduling features are also frequently praised. However, some users find the navigation could be improved, and the noise level is a concern for a few. The small dustbin size and price point are additional drawbacks mentioned by some customers.

I have a large home, 2 stories. I was gifted my 1st one as a bday gift a couple months ago and I love it. I had to get me one for each floor. The expense is so worth it. I bought one as a Christmas gift to my mom as well. I highly recommend this item.

Excellent pick up and edge cleaning. Wish it navigated rooms better. Re-cleans same area too much in my opinion. Doesn’t climb over oval throw rug in living room. It does enter carpeted bedroom and cleans well.

This works as described. It is not for a deep down cleaning but does wonders with everyday cleaning. Picks up food crumbs and pet hairs well.
It is a bit noisy in my opinion and I do not like it to be running when I am trying to watch TV or talking with others, however that is the good thing about controlling it from the IRobot app. You can program it when to run or instant clean all at the touch of a button. The app also assists you in carin for your equipment and to order supplies as needed.

This vacuum is worth the money. It's easy to use and the app is very convenient if you're away and you know you have pets. It's powerful and pics of a lot of dirt in multiple rooms. I would recommend this product.

Does a good job cleaning debris. My apartment is covered with carpets and removed a lot of dust the first time I used it.
The app works great too. However, it can get stuck in small spaces.

Great Robot Vacuum for people new to Robots

This was my first Robot. I find it fascinating this this little gizmo. It is somewhat like the aliens from Batteries Not Included but they don't help you make cheeseburgers. Either way, this one is simple enough to use. It covers a fairly large area and is capable of traversing around alot of objects, tables, computer chairs with the spoke wheels, around corners. And can be used in multi-room application as in my case. Here are a few pointers, keep your wires, socks, towels, shoe laces away from it otherwise it's bound to eat them up. So make sure you pick up a little before sending it off on its journey. I also had some trouble with the home base. I have a hard floor throughout the house so after i tested it and followed it around on its first attempt to sweep the house. It came back to the base and knocked it around a bit. I had to get some strong thick double sided tape to secure it to the floor. otherwise the Roomba might knock its base around. Since this fix no issue have occurred. The other draw back is it will occasionally miss areas but for the most part it cleans well. Another slight draw back is it can be rough when it's bouncing around from wall to wall. So if you have something leaning up against the wall it may knock it down. Like a folding chair, broom, etc... The app is simple enough to use. Allows you to schedule cleanings for each day at specific times up to one time each day for 7 days of the week. One thing I will recommend with this model as it has a brush roller. Make sure you are cleaning out the brush or checking it for stuck debris on a regular basis.

Easy to use, does all the work for me, I just have to empty the dirt collector and charge it up for another round of cleaning, I just sit and read my book and have a cup of tea while my house gets cleaned

This is my second purchase of this product. We love ours so much that we purchased one for my Mother-in-law for Christmas. It has been so helpful! We have wood floors and rugs and it cleans both really well. The patterns it chooses to take can be frustrating so sometimes we trap it in smaller areas depending on what we are trying to accomplish. It is a little louder than I expected, but so is my regular vacuum so that is not a deal breaker.

First robotic vacuum

This was my first robotic vacuum cleaner, so I didn't know what to expect going in. The more advance, top line units were closing in on a thousand dollars, which was more then I wanted to risk on this technology. The 690 was middle of the road from what I could tell. Although it didn't exactly fall into the impressive category for me, it still was a good purchase. The area of the floor it rolls over, it cleans. It randomly bounces around a room, so one cant tell without keeping an eye on it, if 100% of the floor was covered. It's my understanding that the newest units, will map a room, remember where the obstacles are and systematically , with a back and forth movement, cover an entire room. That being said, the 690 does do a good job. It really isn't an activate and forget device. It will, almost every time you use it, get stuck under something, or get into an area, like under a kitchen table where it has a difficult time getting free of all the legs, it will alert you, and you go find it and pull it out and restart it. The battery has a plenty of power, my house is 2400 sqft, and there was never a time the battery has run out. I'v gotten to a point where I may pick the unit up and carry it to a specific room rather then hope it eventually finds it. The app works well, connecting the unit to your wifi was a snap, and connecting it to my Echo Dot 3rd gen, was easy. Overall I am happy I made the investment and may consider a higher end unit after this one dies.

The roomba 690 does a pretty good job on our polished concrete floors, but is constantly getting stuck on our 4 recliner chairs. We have used the sensor that keeps the room a away from certain areas and it seems to work ok, but only around one chair. We would have to buy more sensors and they are not cheap. My only real dislike is the noise. Our roomba is a little noisy and irritating at times.

The roomba picks up well, even better than expected on new pile carpet. The maneuvering leaves something to be desired. If had to purchase again, might spend the extra money to get a version with better navigating or room mapping capabilities. Battery lasts as long as advertised however it is louder than expected. This isnt a defect of of the product but my two dogs hate it.

I really think that the idea here is brilliant, but maybe add a bit more IQ to it. Firstly, I love this Roomba ... now. When I first bought it, I expected too much. I really thought it had a learning disorder. It couldn't find it's Home base, it freaked out about some stairs, it got scared once and hid under some furniture.
I had to coax this Roomba by moving the Home base to other (better?) locations. Once it returned Home once or twice on it's own, it started to relax and do it's job. It really had some anxiety and triggered quickly...now, not so much.
(Seriously) I did expect the Roomba to map it's room. Do I expect too much? If so, it's a male and refuses to ask for directions. If it's female, well, she can't read a map. I've never seen a more confused bot in my life! Blows 3CPO away in stupidity, but not cuteness. It just runs around mindlessly cleaning the floor with ZERO pattern. Bumps into walls, spins, hit it again... dang thing's drunk (or that's a repressed memory, can't decide).
OK, overall: yes, get it. Especially if you're a bachelor(ette). Comes with an app...click "Clean" and it does. I use it only on my wood floor (main level) ... cuz, well, the carpet is upstairs and in the basement. This stupid thing can't even climb stairs. Even 3CPO did that. Sheesh.

Works great, has trouble with large thresholds but all in all great. Nice to be able to leave the vacuuming to the robot in order to focus on other things.
