Customers enjoy the Roomba 690's excellent cleaning performance, ease of use, and pet hair removal capabilities. The app control and scheduling features are also frequently praised. However, some users find the navigation could be improved, and the noise level is a concern for a few. The small dustbin size and price point are additional drawbacks mentioned by some customers.

It gets stuck around area rugs and sliding glass doors sometimes, but it does a pretty good job.

We have parrots, they are messy little creatures. We bought a Roomba to try and keep up with them, and prevent out dogs from eating birdseed off the floors. This thing has surpassed my expectations, especially in combination with Alexa, highly recommended for houses with Pets and Kids, its a life saver.

I would give it 5 stars but have had some technical issues. Straight out of the box, worked like a charm and set up was easy. I have tried to start it remotely using the app but it has not worked yet and I will have to go through the setup process again. The device does not properly dock itself properly and I have to give it an alignment. The vacuum works great and does a good job navigating around the floor.

I have an indoor husky and 4 indoor cats. I am also a vet tech and come home with fur all over me. We would steam clean our floors once weekly and they would still be gross just 2-3 days later. We run this roomba 1-2 times daily and it has been a god-send. I have disc disease in my neck and have had disc surgery on my back so I can't sweep and mop for long without pain so hubby got this for me at my request and it has made live so much easier!!

Be aware of the maintenance

It is a great idea. The execution still lacks some points. Namely it is the hair that makes it a high maintenance unit. The rotating brush at the front stopped working and then we found out hair is building up even under the brush. I have to pretty much unscrew the brush every other day to clean the hair. Also, be aware the front wheel collects hair, so do the two rotating brushes on the back. I am hoping the two main wheels are protected better, as I haven't seen way to service those yet. In other words - be prepared for a clean floor-level, where the Roomba works, - it goes in places that otherwise is hard to clean like under couches and other furniture. It cleans pretty good, but it gets stuck (most days) on our IKEA chairs and I feel all the hair on the floors gets not in the dust bin, but tangles in the brushes. :)

My wife loves it (she hates vacuuming). This was fairly easy to set up. Wouldn't charge at first, but removing the battery and then re-installing battery fixed that. Seems to cover all areas pretty well. Can repeat same areas a little too much, but that's a minor quibble. Does a very good job of detecting things in the way and going around them. Detects the stairs and has not fallen down them. Does a fair job cleaning, but I didn't expect flawless cleaning on such a small device, especially since this is not a top of the line model. The heavy soil button is a nice feature for deeper cleaning in one area. The dust bin fills up after one use, so be prepared to empty after each use. I used the laser detection tower in front of a china hutch the Roomba unit tended to get stuck under, and that stopped that from re-occuring. On sale for $75 off is always a good thing.

I purchased this unit after reviewing other similar products and more expensive ones. All in all, it performs very well. It picks up quite a bit and covers my entire 3 bedroom, 2 bath floor plan well. I have 2 small pets that shed hair moderately and it has been great in keeping the hair to a minimum. The app functionality is great and very convenient to adjust scheduling times. It comes with one small barrier that can be adjusted in 2 ways to keep the vacuum from disturbing sensitive areas like a pets food and water area. It does tend to get stuck from time to time under softer furniture that does not have much clearance off the ground. I usually remedy this by putting my recliner in the reclined position so it does not get hung up. Thats if I remember to do so before i leave for the day.

I purchased this for my wife for our anniversary. She needed to relax from chasing our two year old around and I thought this would allow her to check one task off her list. The Roomba was very easy to set up and it works flawlessly with the app. It does a pretty good job, but is not a powerful vacuum. Don't expect it to clean up really heavy messes and I wouldn't recommend it if you have carpet. We have all hardwoods and mostly open spaces so it does well. It doesn't seem to follow any type of organized pattern, which makes it take forever to clean, but heck it's better than doing it yourself. I couldn't justify five stars because of the limited suction power and random patterns, but I think if you are looking for a light daily cleaning and you have open spaces and hardwoods or tile I would recommend you get one of these.

This Roomba works as advertised, but isn't the end-all solution for keeping a household clean. It's at its best when used every day to keep small amounts of dirt and pet hair from becoming a larger mess. However, I wouldn't describe it as a replacement for a traditional vacuum cleaner. For low traffic households, this works very well. This was purchased for my grandparents, so it fits their needs (note that this also means that we haven't bothered with any of the features such as voice control and the app). It's also worth noting that it has a tendency to get itself stuck under furniture quite often. Perhaps future models could detect potentially hazardous furniture from a distance, rather than just going until it bumps into something (at which point it's too late and the Roomba is already stuck).

I’ve had my iRobot for almost a year. I use it once or twice a week, between deep cleaning days. I recommend buying parts from amazon to have on hand and swap them out as needed. I’ve replaced all the brushes once, the filter twice. It picks up quite well and fits under most of my furniture. It has gotten stuck a few times under my kitchen cabinets. I use it on my brick floors and solid wood floors. I block off bedrooms and my carpeted living room. I would not recommend it for carpet, maybe it would be ok with a very low tight carpet. I like that I can set a weekly schedule on the app and turn it on from anywhere using my app. I have to let it run when I’m not home because the randomness of vacuum pattern drives me crazy. But I know if I turn it on when I’m gone it will do the job and I don’t have to think about it.

I love this thing! I can run it in a room that I thought it was clean and it still can put a lot of dust, dirt, dog hair, and any other debris in the trash compartment. We have two Pitbull mixed dogs and it takes care of pet dander too. Nothing better than a clean home. Judging by the recent videos I saw with babies riding them, I know they have a strong drive system. Thanks Roomba!

I bought the Roomba 690 for my parents' house to be used in their living, dining, and family rooms (approx 1600 sq ft). Was fairly straightforward to set up, doesn't take too much space to dock, and has a good battery life.
I was most impressed by how smoothly it runs about the room. We do a cursory pick up before running, but the Roomba hasn't sucked up anything that gets stuck, and it navigates furniture very well. Can be left unattended for hours without issue. It does make a noticeable amount of noise, so you couldn't run it while a baby was sleeping, near a pet frightened by the vacuum, or while watching tv.
Bottom line, would definitely reccommend for anyone who is looking for an autonomous, low maintenance smart vac.

Roomba 690 does a great job picking up all my husky’s hair but the random vacuum pattern/ path usually leaves large areas uncleaned. After a session is done, I let the Roomba charge and then carry it to the next desired area and start a new cleaning session. It’s great for general sweeping and keeps the dog hair and kid crumbs to a manageable level.

I think this product worked ok. It moves along from carpet to hard floors well and it won't fall over the steps. But, it vacuumed in a crazy patternless manner and understandably got stuck now and then. I see it as a possible time saver but, I just don't see the financial value.

I had this up and running in a matter of minutes. I was so amazed it returned to the base to recharge after cleaning. I checked the canister to see what it had picked up and was amazed at what I found. Does a very good job.

Ruby (that’s what I named it) has been a dream come true! Living in a household with three dogs while having an unrealistic expectation of home cleanliness can be stressful, but Ruby has been on the frontline with me helping fight the good fight if you will. The Roomba was easy to use right out of the box. The app is pretty straightforward and it took me maybe 5 minutes to register the device and put the vacuum to work. It takes about two charges to vacuum my entire home (2000 sq ft). I have one cabinet that it likes to get stuck under and it sometimes fights with my kitchen rugs, but otherwise, it is able to maneuver around pretty much everything else. I would highly recommend this product to everyone.
