Customers are saying
Customers enjoy the Roomba 690's excellent cleaning performance, ease of use, and pet hair removal capabilities. The app control and scheduling features are also frequently praised. However, some users find the navigation could be improved, and the noise level is a concern for a few. The small dustbin size and price point are additional drawbacks mentioned by some customers.

Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a friend that owns this model and loves it, but when I purchased this model for my wife, she wanted the iRobot i7 for its mapping and other features. Thus I returned this model and purchased/upgraded to the i7, which we are very pleased with.

Great for the "I hate to vacuum" person
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does a good job of keeping the floor clean. Dogs don't seem to mind it as is moves around - they are terrified of regular vacuum. It is relatively quiet. The down side is the small capacity dust bucket that needs to be emptied often.

Works great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our entire first floor is hardwood and we have two cats so there’s always fur floating around. Now with our Roomba we have it scheduled to run every morning and now our entire first floor stays clean. I wish we would have bought one of these years ago!

Love this vaccum
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum can pick up a lot. So nice to be able to turn it on and let go. Cleans under beds and furniture where traditional vaccines cannot go. Recommend for anyone but especially for elderly or people who have issues pushing a vaccine.

Good but doesnt do what I thought it would.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product does not vacuum as well as I thought it would for the money. It also gets trapped a lot, and cannot clean my area rug. It just goes around the rug. I feel that it should come with two barriers since most rooms have two exits.

So far so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had the iRobot a few weeks and so far so good. The only issue we have had is that every once in a while it doesn't find its way back to the charger. But for the most part this is a good product and it seems to work well.

Perfect for multi-flooring home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have hardwood floors with rugs and carpet in our home and the iRobot roomba is able to transition with ease from surface to surface. The only down aide is that ours turns on randomly which can be a blessing in disguise.

My Roomba Rocks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love my new Roomba and regret not buying it earlier. It does a very thorough job picking up dust and fur from my 3 dogs. I can't believe we have been living with so much fur on our floors. Do not hesitate buying one if you are considering it.

Roomba Rocks!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd Roomba. It was purchased for the 2nd floor of a condo and does a great job of maintaining the floors in between major cleanings. It can get tangled up in cords so keep those phone chargers up high.

Hard worker, easy to program and maintain
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works hard and comes with the virtual wall to keep it away from stairs or fireplace. Does not have a camera like the more expensive robots so basically drives around randomly for an hour then sometimes returns to base

Great sweeper
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this sweeper. I haven’t ran my canister sweeper since I got this. It picks up all dust and hair. I wish it could see where it has been, but I don’t mind it going over the same place a few times, as long as I’m not having to do it!

Better than shark robot
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had 2 different shark robots and both broke within a few months. So I decided to spend the extra money on this robot and the difference is incredible. Not only is this one faster and smarter but also made with better material.

Ok for smaller spaces
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I exchanged this model for the 960 because the 690 would not dock itself for recharge in order to finish the house. For larger houses, I highly recommend the 960 instead.

Robbie the Roomba
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Roomba named Robbie. Each morning he spruces up the kitchen and removes kitty litter from my laundry room floor. Then I turn him loose to gently vacuum the rest of my house. This is my first but definitely not my last Roomba!

Not as good for tile
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This works as good as all my previous roomba’s on flat floor...but does not work on my grout lines near as well. I like the wi-fi.....it was easy to set up. My only complaint would be the brushes that are brushless.

Excellent vacuum
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very happy with my Roomba 690, I set up a daily schedule on my iPhone and it cleans when I am gone! I do have to pick up toys and stray items daily so if forces me to pick up daily. The sand and dog hair the vacuum picks up is amazing!

Awesome helper!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Roomba (a.k.a. Prescott). It is a tremedious help during the week while I am working. I would consider buying another to run on opposite side of house to keep the wear and tear down on my first one.

A product thats improved over time
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to look it up to verify, but I was surprised to see it's actually been 15 years since the first Roomba hit the market. We had one of those first Roombas, actually bought it as a Christmas present for my elderly live alone dad, as he was not big on vacuuming. The thrill didn't last long. It would get stuck, get clogged, fall down stairs, and when it did work, it didn't do much more than pick up visible crumbs on the floor. The $300 toy was relegated to the storage closet. Since then, I've pretty much ignored these devices thinking there wouldn't be much improvement in subsequent models. So now, 15 years later, you can buy one of the newer models at about the same price, considering inflation, I guess it's about 30% or so cheaper, and it's quite a different machine. I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements they've integrated. First thing i noticed is the power. I imagine that battery improvements over the years have made a lot of this possible, but it's much better at picking up embedded pet hair. It's not going to replace your canister or upright for deep cleanings, but it certainly reduces the need to use it as frequently. It's also able to swallow objects that the earlier models would choke on. Actually had to empty it when it went for an excursion under the bed! As far as cleaning the unit itself, that's much improved as well. It disassembles easily and logically, and comes with its own cleaning tool. Spare parts (brushes, filters, wheels, etc.) are readily available. Speaking of the wheels, that's another way the newer models are improved - there's enough clearance built in that transitioning from hardwood to rugs is handled easily - and it refuses to fall down stairs! The inclusion of an invisible gate is a nice feature. While it's mentioned to gate off a room or area you don't want it wandering into, I found it best used to avoid the tangle of wires underneath the computer desk. Or, if you're not a great wire bundler as i am not, you might choose to direct it away from under your tv/stereo equipment. While i'm not a big on wifi appliances (the thermostat is probably the most useful to me), it is useful to get a message that your Roomba is clogged because you forgot to empty it last time! I don't think i'll be using it because i just jetted off to Paris and want my condo vacuumed, but if that's your lifestyle, the feature is there. If i had to knock the Roomba, living in a bilevel, it would have been nice to have two charging stations, and at $59, the price of an additional charger is a bit high. But all in all, i think they've done a good job at improving this product over the years to the point where i wouldn't have any qualms about recommending it to a friend/relative.

I named him Steve
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Steve came to my house on a Thursday afternoon. On Friday, I set him up to go clean before I left for work. I even left him a treat on the floor to eat (some parmesan cheese). When I got home on Friday, he had eaten his treat, and as far as I could tell, had cleaned the whole house and made it back to his home dock. Monday, the next time he ran, I got a notification on my phone that said that he was finished. But when I got home, he was nowhere to be found! Turns out he got lost by the back door, and spun in circles until his battery ran out. He also missed the tortilla chip snack I left directly in front of the dock. Wednesday and Thursday were much the same. By Thursday, I was already sick of his crap, so I just left him on the floor and didn't take him home to charge. By Friday, Steve went back home to Best Buy, and I came home with a new TV instead.
