I held off a couple years as didnt believe would work well. I was wrong as my wife wanted one so i gave in. It is fantastic for vacuuming and moping. Also very easy to use. Love my robot vacuum

Wish I bought one sooner. My floors have never been cleaner and it gets under the couch and bed. I just got the combo mop vac without the bin, the person that helped at Best Buy said I wouldn’t be able to buy the bin separately and was very sure of themselves to the point of being unhelpful and almost convincing me not to buy it. So I looked it up and in 2 seconds all my doubts were erased and I bought it and would do it again.

I just want to start off by saying i have 3 dogs. They shed alot. This roomba is a life saver. My partner has mild allergies and ever since buying this roomba and being able to set it on a schedule with just my phone, those mild allergies are doing much better. The app is super helpful and even tells me when i need to change a part, the specific part and where to buy the part. Dog parents would all benefit with a roomva if you struggle with a pet that sheds.

I had trouble connecting the iRobot to my account. It took me almost a week to get it working. I'm testing it by mapping the areas. I think the battery doesn't last long.

Purchased this product and was quite surprised on how it functions. Mapped area was change due to Christmas tree and it found its way around when the barrier was aced in front of the tree. Still dicovering its capabilities. Easy set up and recommend emptying after each use.

Took a few times to get the clean route done to my satisfaction but after that its all good to go. Had my tech savvy nephew assit. Now it is easy peasy.

Loved it for about a week, after that it kept having problems, it would send me notifications that it was stuck and it would be in the middle of my living room with nothing around it and it kept telling me that it was offline and I would need to reconnect it to the WiFi, none of my other smart devices have any problems with the WiFi, or it would run out of battery before it would make it to the self charging station.

This thing does an amazing job! The mapping took a little bit to learn but now I have it all down pat and I just send it out to do my dirty work

Much better than I expected I mainly use it for the vacuum not the mop but it sucks out a lot of dirt!!!

I love the iRobot vacuum but best buy costumer service horrible. Be aware they will never answer and never help with any issue

I bout this for my wife for a Christmas present and she absolutely loves it. She uses it everyday and there has been 0 issues with it. It works fabulous and does everything it’s supposed to do. We recommend it to all our friends and family.

The wheels are not replacble, my window blinds rope got caught up in the roomba. There is no way to untangle tag, except to cut off the rope

The iRobot Roomba Combo i5 is a robot vacuum that offers a little extra (as one might surmise from the "combo" in its name) - it has the capability of mopping. Whether this translates to a truly upgraded robot vacuum or not, though, is difficult to say. On the positive side, the setup process is very similar to the i3, meaning it is fairly straightforward - of course, with the exception of having to set up the mopping bin. Unboxing was similarly straightforward and pleasant; I appreciated the lack of excessive plastic packaging. The woven top is a nice aesthetic touch and makes it look slightly less cheap and toy-like compared to the i3. I find that Roombas and other robot vacuums (my main experience is with Roombas and Ecovacs) are best for maintenance cleaning but struggle to deep clean, and the Combo i5 is no exception here. It does a good job of keeping my place generally clean, but since it struggles to navigate the edges and corners of rooms and can have difficulty picking up larger messes, it's hard to recommend it as a replacement for a decent manual vacuum. That said, I was pretty pleasantly surprised to see how well it handled pet hair given that certain robot vacuums can suck (hah) at it. I have two cats and both are hairy little monsters, so I consider this no small feat. The app is just okay, I find that it's a bit clunky but being able to start and stop the Roomba with Google Assistant or Alexa is convenient. The battery life is similar to the i3 and it is ample enough for cleaning my entire downstairs (downstairs bathroom, living room, kitchen, and entryway) with battery to spare. Emptying the bin isn't a massive pain and it can usually do one or two cycles before needing to be emptied. All of that aside, there are some big drawbacks. I had these issues with the i3 and my previous Ecovacs, so I have come to accept these as a part of robot vacuum life. They are still worth noting though, especially if any of these are dealbreakers for you. One is that it needs to be babysit quite a bit. The i5 and i3 tend to get stuck on furniture legs - both get stuck on my laptop table, for instance, which has legs that are about 1.5" tall. You need to move all objects out of the way lest they get stuck on them, too - so wires, toys, and so on all must be off the floor. Essentially, you have to babyproof the room; even things like blinds strings will be an issue if they are within the Roomba's reach. For my home, because the i5 consistently gets stuck on the same furniture, I have to handhold it and watch it to make sure it doesn't end up stuck in the living room with a dead battery and a half-done job. This leads me to my next point... It can be inconvenient. The mopping feature is nice, but it won't replace a real mop and you must switch the dry bin out for the mopping bin to mop. The mop can't be used on carpet and has no way to lower or raise the mop part. If you, like me, have parts of your area that are carpeted, you have to somehow block the Roomba off from the carpeted areas, let it vacuum and mop, and then swap out the bins. It's more work than just using a Swiffer or similar mopping solution. The Roomba also cleans decently, but not well, especially along walls and corners. It tends to bump into objects, which is frustrating to watch (and if you, like me, have issues where the Roomba needs to be micromanaged...you will spend a good chunk of the time spent running it being mildly annoyed). The smart mapping isn't perfect and if it fails, you'll need to restart from the beginning. It also is fairly loud, so if you have nearby neighbors you will not want to be running this at 4 am. Overall, the Combo i5 is somewhat gimmicky but useful for light and maintenance cleaning. I would hesitate to recommend it to anyone hoping for a convenient one-stop-shop for cleaning their floors, but it's not a bad buy for someone who is familiar with the limitations of robot vacuums and is okay with having to swap out the dry and wet bins, or simply has no carpet. There is certainly room for improvement, but the Combo i5 isn't offensively bad in any way.

The Roomba iRobot 5i (Robot Floor Sweeper and Mopper) i received the Floor Roomba iRobot 5i connected and was anxious to try it out. We have six rooms in our downstairs. The living room, dining room and a bedroom have hardwood floors. The bathroom, kitchen and the pantry all have vinyl flooring. I have not tried the Roomba upstairs which has two bedrooms with hardwood floors and a bathroom. The first thing I did was to download the app from the App Store. The IRobot connected easily through the iRobot app and it was ready to go to work. The iRobot comes with a charging station to charge its battery. Setting up the charging station with the iRobot was easy and convenient. Mine is tucked away under an end table and out of the walk ways. The phone app controls the settings on the iRobot including starting the machine. The iRobot mapped out the room as it swept. It even fit under the couch and chairs and picked up the dust underneath them. It is an extremely efficient machine that runs quietly and the lasts for a long time. A great addition to the package is the mop attachment. I couldn’t find in the app or papers that were with it about the mop attachment but figured out how to attach it when I emptied the housing compartment for the dirt it picked up. It was easy to connect it and I used it to damp mop the kitchen. It did not make everything wet and swept as it went. While the mopping function performed adequately, I would not recommend it for deep cleaning but it was good for a quick spot cleaning. I would give the Roomba iRobot 5i a five-star review and recommend it for general cleaning.
