Rosie the Robot has proven to be a winner!

I am writing this review after five months of owning this product. I am extremely happy with the purchase.
To give you a little background, I use my iRobot (Rosie) On the main floor of my house. It runs 3-4 times a week (3-scheduled, 1 random). It’s about 1000 ft.² of dark hardwood floors, tile, area rugs, tables, chairs and sofas. There are three of us that live in the house, one being a teenager with lots of friends in and out. We have one Australian Shepherd with white/gray/brown fur. You can only imagine the hairballs that generate constantly!
I will admit, after the first few cleanings, I became more skeptical. The build up of dog hair would “pill up” on the rugs. After about two weeks there are rarely “pills“ to be found. Rosie gets under the couches, Along the baseboards and in and around all of the chairs. It is rare to find a hairball from the dog - anywhere! I do spot clean and give a deep clean vacuum once ever 4-5 weeks.
I am very consistent on keeping Rosie maintained - I clean the rollers, brush and filter once or twice a week. It only takes a few minutes. In my environment I change the bag in the self-emptying base every 3 1/2 weeks. The bags are a bit pricey, but the base is worth it. It empties 2 to 3 times during its scheduled cleanings. The battery, so far, has been very consistent in that it has to charge once in the middle of cleaning. The time to clean my 1000 square-foot home is about three hours and 10 minutes.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I will be looking to add another upstairs, all carpets, in the near future. I’m waiting for the next version of the mopping unit to come out, hopefully, with a tank base to hold more water. I hope this review helps. Good luck!

Nothing tells gust that you care more than fresh carpet lines. Took four days to map our large house (both floors). After that we were great. I never thought about how much lint/dust could be under our beds and accumulate around the house. We thought we were a clean family but this little guy has stepped up our cleanliness. After the first two full house cleanings, 0 dirt events. Everyone that I talked to about their iRobot’s complained about having to empty the dirt bins multiple times during full house cleanings. Poof, with this setup, I don’t have that problem. To date i’ve only had a issue and a half. First one I can’t really blame the robot. It sucked up loose thread on a rug in my daughters room and unraveled about 4 feet of yarn into its dust bin. The other items was the robot doing its job. One of the kids thought it would be funny to dump 2 cup fulls of their brothers legos on the floor before we left the house ( knowing the robot was about to turn on for a scheduled run). Well we didn’t know till the fill bin indicator came on four cleanings later.
Between cleaning and charging, takes 8 hrs to clean our 4Ksqft 1st floor. That’s why I scheduled separate rooms/areas through the week.
Only thing that would make this item better is being able to climb stairs and clean them on the way up.
We will probably get a second in a few months. Taking the unit to the second floor once a week works for now. Unit activation audio alerts is also great at causing the kids to run upstairs and pick up their toys as Honey Badger doesn’t care. Yes, that is our iRobot's Name.

I can't say enough good stuff about this unit. I've watched it clean up everything from wilted flower petals and pet hair, to pine needles from the Christmas tree. Once it mapped out our entire bottom floor (~1500 sq ft) It no longer runs into stuff unless it's something we've added or moved. I've watched it navigate chords, my teenagers dirty sock, and a full 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper. These are just a few of the things it has avoided. Once mapped, cleaning takes approximately 2.5 hours for the entire bottom floor. Most days now I don't even notice it's going. When I do, you can hear a little bit of noise from it but I work from home and it's not terribly disturbing. The noise level is far less than a regular vacuum. The dust bin holds enough that I don't feel like I'm always emptying it. I really couldn't say one thing that stands out as a negative. We are thoroughly happy. At first I found myself staring at it, watching it do its thing. We have now purchased two more as gifts for our family members. Completely satisfied with our little Sucky McSweepy

I don’t know how we use to clean our house before Roomba became one of our member. Took a week for Roomba to learn and to make a map of our rooms. After that Roomba automatically clean our house without needing to tell him clean. Setup was easy and scheduling Roomba was easy on the iRobot app.
I totally recommend this little helper to anyone who need extra help with their house cleaning.

Love my Roomba!

This is our first Roomba. We spent weeks researching robot vacuums and considered less expensive brands and models but we always came back to the i7+. And I'm glad we did!
It was very easy to get started. I would recommend setting up the Smart Map before having it vacuum for the 1st time...though this isn't necessary.
It took our Roomba 3 passes (a total of 6 hours) to map our 2,000 SF 1 story house. Once the area is mapped, you can add dividers to rooms (where they aren't automatically detected) as well as room labels within the app so you can tell smart devices like Google Home "Have the Roomba vacuum the entryway" and it will make a bee-line for the entryway, vacuum that area, then return home.
--A Few Tips--
1) Pick up electrical cords or hang them on furniture so the Roomba doesn't get stuck on them or attempt to suck them up.
The i7+ includes a Virtual Wall Barrier device. When turned on, it will prevent the Roomba from vacuuming a certain area that you anticipate might cause problems. It can be set to create a halo around the area or a virtual wall to prevent the Roomba from entering a certain room (for example, you might want to keep it out of the kitchen while you're cooking). The app also allows you to set "Keep Out Zones"... more on that later in the App section.
2) From my experience, I've found that it's best to move kitchen and bathroom mats 7 inches away from the very bottom of cabinets (measuring along the floor).
If the mats are too close to the cabinet or flush underneath, sometimes our Roomba gets itself wedged in between and has a hard time getting itself un-stuck. We have 3.5" between the floor and our cabinets and that's almost the exact same height as the Roomba.
--Vacuum Time--
It takes our Roomba a total of 4 hours to clean our house (2.5 hours of actual cleaning time plus 1.5 hours where it needs to pause and re-charge in the middle of the cleaning process).
Even though our home is 2,000 SF, only 1,170 SF is the actual vacuum-able area due to a King Size bed that it cannot fit under as well as couches and other furniture that have less than a 3.5" clearance.
Although 2.5 hours of vacuuming might seem like a long time, hey, at least you're not the one doing it! I find that it motivates me to clean the house while it vacuums. I feel like I have 2 people cleaning the house at the same time instead of just 1 :)
--Cleaning the i7+--
If you're like me and feel a tad overwhelmed by the cleaning instructions in the manual, just watch the approximately 7 minute long video titled "How to clean your Roomba i7/i7+" on YouTube created by RoyYaBoi. He seems to be a teenager and I think he did a GREAT job. His video made cleaning the i7+ seem like a breeze!
I clean my Roomba after every complete job just to remove hair from the rollers and any nerf darts that might get stuck in it. In my case, I have to remove the rollers to find the hair stuck inside of them. It's not evident by just looking at the rollers.
Note: There was a nerf dart stuck in the port on the i7+ where the home base sucks out its contents. I would never have known had I not turned the Roomba upside down and checked it out. So if you have kids, at the very least, you might want to take a look at the underside after it cleans the house.
--iRobot App--
History - I like how the app keeps track of all of the vacuuming and smart mapping jobs. You can look at the map of each job to see exactly where it vacuumed.
Smart Maps - You can set "Keep Out Zones" which is great if you have several areas in your house that you want the Roomba to always avoid but don't want the hassle of running around the house moving the Virtual Wall Barrier from place to place.
--About our Floors--
We have hardwood floors and tile throughout with one large area rug in the living room. We do not have any pets. The Roomba works great on all of our floors!
In summary, I love our i7+ and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a robot vacuum!

I upgraded to this after a refurbished Shark model I tried broke after two weeks. It is night and day how much better the i7+ is compared to its Shark counterpart. From how much better it cleans, the way it maps and allows you the ability to set up cleaning and non cleaning zones, and it doesn’t get stuck or jammed as much. You still have to have a relatively clean and uncluttered floor for this to work properly so if you are a slob this won’t help. You’ll spend more time unjamming the rollers or picking it up from being stuck. But if you keep a relatively clean home but want something to help automate a chore and add an extra level of clean then this is a great buy. We live in a zoned rural area with three school age kids, three cats, two dogs, and all the friends coming and going so there’s a lot of foot traffic but this thing handles cleaning the hardwood and low pile carpet. they i just do a quick mop with hot water and murphy’s oil and the house looks like new. I love my i7+, i call it my baby and named her Death to Dirt, and I don’t allow anyone else in the house to touch her! Also sprung for the two year service plan and have always been satisfied with Best Buy when I’ve had to access a plan for an item that needs repair.
Be careful of fishing line and similar items. They’ll trash the brushes and rollers while getting jammed up in the wheels. Nightmare.
Only down side is the bags are a bit pricey depending on how often you need to change them out, and the actual Roomba brand ones are hard to find consistently. It would be nice if you could use without the bags, which you can, but then you have to pick up the whole base to dump it into the trash and it’s a pain. also wouldn’t want to break the fan/suction system inside because i don’t think the screen would keep it from getting jammed.

It entertains two Rodesian Ridgebacks. We’ve only been a month but I love it!! Working at home and able to be overwhelmed by the mess this has been a godsend. We have LVP and I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the cleaning, mapping and love the emptying feature. It is much louder than I expected (probably louder because we don’t have a lot of carpets). This has reduced my stress and taken a level of ‘I’m a horrible mother’ off my plate.

I love this vacuum cleaner!!!! I have two dogs so I set it up to run on a schedule every other day to keep my floors clean. I love the fact that if it gets stuck it will work it’s way off of whatever by picking up on the center wheel and spinning around until it’s free. Very rarely do I have to go get it because it’s stuck and can’t move. It also does a good job of cleaning under furniture. It will run over electrical cords without damaging them except the phone charger’s fragile end. I have had a couple of phone cord ends get damaged. The other good thing about them is that there is several parts that can be replaced without having to get a whole new vacuum. The parts are reasonably priced and easy to change out. I have had it for over two years and still love it. Don’t waste your time on anything less than this model. I tried and was disappointed in cheaper ones

I love the new technology, this is my 3rd Iroomba purchase , 4th if you count the Braava Jet (2nd gen mop).
Pros: love that it maps my home and I can create boundaries on the app. Older model may have done this but I never used it. Now I’m all about using product to full potential. Love that it empties every time it docks, and it finds docking station with out a problem. Love that if lost somewhere in your house (haven’t had to use this feature yet) you can find its location. This was a pain with older model as it would die somewhere and we all had to hunt for the iroomba in a 3700 sq foot home. LOVE that It links to my Alexa and I can remotely make it clean as well as program it to clean daily by naming the rooms.
Con: I find it doesn’t have the same determination to cover all areas. At times I find left over residual after it’s vacumed floor/rug. Never had this with older models (800 series). Possible I may need to just reset it to pass over flooring/rug more than once. Can be done on app. Yup that’s about it for the cons.

Pretty sweet, dynamic duo I7 and M6...

I got the I7 and M6 price matched as a combo over the holidays and saved quite a bit, pretty much got the m6 free. My 2 story has mostly hard flooring so take that into consideration. Initially my kids and I spent alot if time watching the robots navigate the house. They were seemingly lost, cruising around with no real dedication to any room. The 2nd time they both seemed to be determined to follow walls and borders, still not thoroughly cleaning. So after that, I got notification that the little guys were ready for prime time and asked me to set rooms, which I did. I did this per robot on each story, and was given 2 maps as a result. I was rather skeptical about them at this point because the cleaning left alot to be desired from something so $$$.
So I targeted a specific room and hit clean on the I7 and was amazed at the difference in the results. It went from wandering around aimlessly the 1st 2 episodes to b-lining straight to rooms around couches and chairs, night and day. It took several passes the 3rd clean and really left very little to nothing at all behind cleaning in rows. This actually was the case for both robots. Since then scheduling their routines was a breeze, and they don't seem to miss a beat.
I like them and I guess if I was to judge between them the M6 obviously cleans deeper, fits into tighter spaces, and makes the floor shiny, Yet requires more maintenance from the user.
The tech in the I7 makes it quicker to find rooms and seems slightly more at home navigating I'd say.
Just to see, I let the dog hair pile up for a week at set them loose. The I7 got most of everything and the m6 got the left over dust and brought it to a shine. I'd buy them again, but I'll admit I'm curious of how well a high end hybrid would compete for the $$$
-1 star because hybrids do both for cheaper and I'd imagine that 2 robots would take longer than 1, especially with initial set up. I'm a little surprised that the results of mapping a floor cannot be shared between robots, each have to map the area separately. Also the I7 didn't get all of the hair out of the carpet when it was allowed to pile up, even on the 2nd try. More of a maintenance machine on carpet, suction isn't the strongest, initially use your standard vacuum before relying on the I7.
The M6 has issues with elevation changes between my tile kitchen and my laminated wood floor living area. The M6 treats the transitions like walls and will not cross them.

I LOVE this Roomba i7+. I had no idea this would do such a good job. I had seen demos of robotic vacuums (different models) and they would go right over an area of dirt without picking it up so I was skeptical. But this Roomba really does a great job! With 3 dogs, there is always dog hair to pick up and it may not get it all, but it does leave "tufts" of hair that I can see and easily pick up! Somehow it even knows when it needs to concentrate on a specific area and it will go back and forth over it. The mapping on it is somewhat difficult because what it has mapped looks nothing like my floor plan.... but I will try to figure that out so I can have it just vacuum one room sometimes instead of always doing the entire house. It knows when the battery is getting low, goes back to the base to recharge, then takes back off to finish the job. It also goes back to the base to empty the bin when needed. On the first run it did get stuck under my sofa but since then it hasn't had an issue. It learns. It is quite amazing and I am so happy I purchased this. It is going to be nice to not have to drag my big vacuum out every day.

I have only owned my Roomba 3 days, but I am already a believer. I work from home and have a fairly small, very dusty apartment with a cat. I have been thinking about a robot vacuum for years - but really thought it would be a waste of money. I have had chronic sinusitis and sinus surgery this past summer, I also struggle with fatigue, add to that the my fur ball cat that sheds everywhere, manages to kick litter and I’m not sure how she does it but she is the messiest eater. I read rice after review and settled on the shark self cleaning equivalent and was so excited. That lasted 1 day, their app is so glitchy that the robot wouldn’t connect even after a very long support call, resetting, etc. the batter didn’t charge even after 24 hrs plugged in, I brought it back to Best Buy and just went for it even though I thought even the sale price was ridiculous ($699- worth every penny’s) unlike the shark, it was very easy to set up, the app connected immediately and within 3 hours Rosie did her first run through of my apartment. Here is the best part - my cat, who is terrified of the vacuum and hiss for hours after every use had zero fear of the roomba. (Rosie the roomba). She watched it with a skeptical eye but as she worked her way through the apartment she got braver and followed her. The app shows where the trouble ‘dirtier’ spots are and it will spend more time on those areas I have hard wood floors and is able to easily go on frim the floor to the carpets, even over the high bathroom threshold and the bath mat, she fits under my sectional and the first run there were only a few spots she missed, but she has learned the apartment layout and now gets those spots. The suction strength is good, maybe not as strong as my dyson, but it picked up litter, crumbs, dust, cat hair. I have run it once a day - and I swear last night the cat was waiting for it to start like it is a toy. My apartment has never been cleaner. After 2 runs I was able to label my rooms so I can have Rosie clean a specific room. It is not very loud,y apartment is small and I was watching tv when I started the clean cycle tonight and it didn’t bother me at all. The app is also great, it should how long each cleaning was, and you can look at a map to see where the room a went and where the heavier dirt spot were. And the length of a full cleaning run has gone down by a few minutes each time, so maybe it learns the layout a bit more each time? Or maybe there is less dirt to pick up? It is only day three so time will tell, but so far I’m really impressed, my dyson might collect some dust in the closet!

The Roomba is a very powerful and efficient robot. Prior to running it, I pick up all wires, curtains, or anything hanging on the floor to prevent any jams. It cleans my hardwood floors and porcelain tiles perfectly. It picks up all of the dog hair, dust, or small pieces of garbage. I was surprised to see how well it cleans the corners of my floor. If it gets to a spot that it can not reach, it will try several times and then reroute itself. It’s not loud while it’s running. However, I wouldn’t run it at night while I’m sleeping because I could still hear it and it takes about an hour to clean the floors (about 900 square feet). When It’s done cleaning, it goes back to its stations to get emptied and recharged. It’s really loud when it’s being emptied, but it’s quick to empty and it doesn’t bother me. When I’m done using it, I mop the floor and the mop is completely clean with hardly any dog hairs. This is the perfect floor vacuum for pet hair. I’m also glad that my dog is not afraid of it. I love this roomba it’s an amazing tool. I also like that I can control it and program it from the app which is easy to use. Getting the Roomba setup was also easy to do.

I love this new Roomba. It is not as fussy as my previous 960, which would get stuck easily and had trouble with dark colored rugs. This new one is much more powerful, and while the smaller dust bin may seem a little odd at first, the fact that it will automatically dock to empty itself makes up for it. I used to have to clean off the spinning brush on my old Roomba, but this new one doesn't require it as often. The mapping feature is great, I love being able to send the robot to do a quick clean of a single room on off days. Overall this is a solid improvement in many ways.

Amazing! I settled for an off brand robot vacuum for Christmas last year. Big mistake. It kept going everywhere and constantly had dog hair in the brush that I had to keep cleaned out. I have an almost 1 year old, a golden retriever, and a lab/pit mix to say my floors stay dirty is an understatement. So after a lot of research and had to convince/justify to my husband that we need it, I got my first roomba. It has changed my life. It mapped out my house minus the rooms I don’t want it to vacuum and does a fantastic job. It has a bit of learning curve and there were a few hair balls to start but after a week there isn’t any. Today I decided to vacuum with my upright just to see how much I would pick up. I would have a full canister before with dirt and dog hair. Today was just a little dog hair and dirt. I think I got a few places that the roomba missed. I have cut my vacuuming time down tremendously. I was doing it every day or at least every other, now I might do it once a week. Ohh and the lines it leaves in the carpet are impressive! Waking up after it ran and seeing clean floors and lines makes me so happy and not stressed over cleaning constantly. Also I haven’t changed the bag in the dispenser yet, it is mostly full after a week. I have ran the vacuum once or twice a day since I got it. I think now the bag will last longer cause it’s not having to empty as much on the runs now. I’m completely sold on iRobot products and will be saving for the m6 mop so I can run them both on the tile.

The first one we've ever owned. Keeps our house clean with 3 dogs and one cat. Love the schedule we created for cleaning the litterbox floor every day and vacuuming the house 3 times a week while we work.
