I looked for a while at the generic boxes from China, but after you consider shipping and wait time, I decided to buy this in case it didn't work out and I could return it. (Having a gift card helped, too) Pros: Compact (about credit card sized, but 0.5" thick), high res and speed (60 fps, USB 3.0), uses freeware (OBS, or paid s/w). No drivers to manually load in MS Win10. Cons: Support exists, but the rep I got didn't know much about it, and couldn't help, only one HDMI port (a splitter may be needed for your application, such as streaming stick, TV monitoring, etc.) I think they may have an JVA04 model that has 2 HDMI, but not at BB. I bought a $15 powered splitter on the big online retailer's site, and it worked great. I initially had trouble getting audio from the HDMI input. It was only supporting mic input via OBS. I ended up updating firmware, and staring everything over (power cycle+ reboot). Then, I was able to get OBS to receive audio. At one point, there was an echo/feedback because of duplicate audio. There are a lot of settings in OBS to play with. Great tool if you update firmware, and can get the 3rd party s/w configured properly.

This product worked so well... I now have two of them... easy to use and is a great video capture card at a very good price... I wanted a different brand which was about 50 dollars higher but had good ratings... problem... everyone on earth was out of stock!... So I took a chance on this capture device and it works even better because I can charge at the same time,,, use headphones to monitor audio and plug in an external mic!... what a deal... if you are in the market for a video capture device... I highly recommend this product...

I got this so I could stream on YouTube using the HDMI out of a video camera on a Mac and for that it works great. However, it does use a bit more power than my laptop was providing via the USB-C port. I resolved this with an external powered USB hub and a separate USB-A to USB-C cable (a USB charger should work as well). With the external power, it works great. It needs the right software for good results. Initially I tried using VLC to test the capture and got jerky and unreliable motion. However, using QuickTime Player the capture was smooth. Also, YouTube and Skype streaming is smooth so the issue appears to be with VLC than the device.

This product did exactly as it advertised, while the targer audience is more for mobile phones, I use this with my laptop and older camcorder to use as a webcam. Work great with no additional software needed. Now I just need to win the 5,000 BBY Gift Card to buy a new camcorder to make my streaming looking better. 480P is okay for a small screen, but 1080p is needed in the end.

Good capture card for dslr! My only issue with this device is that I'm having trouble everytime I connect my Canon C100. It always gives me the narrow skinny footage from my c100 but when I use my gh5 it works properly. I think if you have an older camera you may have an issue with it. But so far that's the only issue I'm having with it.

Works well with OBS and Facebook Live! Very inexpensive way to make your hdmi capable camera a streamable webcam.

One of the lower priced devices. Was in stock at local store so I had it same day to use the next day. Worked great right out of the box. Has a separate audio input if you want a different microphone from the one on the camera. Documentation is thin. No need to download drivers.

Bought this in a rush for church livestream. I connected the USB C to A cable to my iMac and brought the video from Panasonic G85 into Wirecast and streamed to Facebook. Quality was really good and stable. i7 Computer was running at 30% processing so it was not too taxing. Overall I am very happy this was available in store and at a good price.

The Church realize that they needed a device such as the j5create-Live Capture HDMI-to-USB-C Video Adapter - Black; This particular device enabled the ministry to 'Live-Stream" regular Church Services throughout this COVID-19 Pandemic. Thanks Best Buy for selling and delivering at a very economical price point. Lloyds Computer Business & IST (SDVOSB)

Given the recent run of webcams being in short supply during this pandemic, this was a fantastic alternative to converting my Sony RX100 Mach IV point and shoot camera to a webcam without paying a crazy amount. Initially, I tried purchasing the ElGato HD60s at first, but it was likely overkill and could not get the game capture to recognize on my Mac, even with OBS and drivers installed. The ElGato CamLink device, which is what LiveCapture device compares to was out of stock everywhere and eBay prices were too high. This LiveCapture device worked right out of the box. So simple. Faster delivery than Amazon as well.

I used this to attach my digital SLR with HDMI out to my computer so I could use it with video conferences. It works perfectly, zero configuration necessary. Picture is sharp and it has close to zero lag. I'm not using the mic/headphone plugs but I'm sure they also work fine.

Very useful for capture videos from cameras. Plus and play

Honestly it's not that bad, does what it says it will. Only compliant is that it would have been nice to have better instructions on getting it set up, and details of what each connection is for.

I was able to get video from my camera into my computer, however no matter what I tried, it would not capture at 1920x1080. I went a few rounds with J5 tech support, to no avail. I ended up returning it.

Purchased this so we could use a camcorder to live stream church services. No driver required, plug and play. OBS Studio saw it immediately as a video source.

Works just as stated. Basically plug and play. The added audio options is a plus. No loss of video quality.
