My hearing has impacted by way of attending hundreds of rock concerts throughout my life. In particular, when I was in my 20s and 30s in a time where nobody wore earplugs at loud concerts. I'm finding it more difficult to hear what people are saying in a normal conversational tone as well as when I'm out in a restaurant or social event. I'm not sure I'm ready to go to a hearing aid so a hearing enhancement device seemed like a good fit for me. Now that hearing enhancement devices are being sold over-the-counter I was interested in trying out a pair. I liked the Jabra hearing device since they are more unobtrusive than many of the others on the market. I suppose a positive takeaway is that it looks like you are wearing earbuds and not a hearing aid. I've also enjoyed other Jabra products and believe they manufacture quality products. I downloaded the Jabra app and found the setup process was good. I did encounter a bit of trouble trying to pair the earbuds to my phone. The app said to look for the flashing blue lights on the earbuds, then "click next" on the app. The "click next" button didn't appear despite both earbuds were blinking with a blue light. Fortunately, the app automatically took me into a manual pairing process that went quite smoothly and I was able to pair the device successfully. The app then walked me through a hearing test that was simple and intuitive. Based on the hearing test, the app automatically customized the settings on my earbuds. I like the fact that Jabra includes different sized ear gels to get a custom fit for the earbuds. For me, the standard size worked great. I've only been able to use the earbuds for a day or so. I find that my hearing is definitely enhanced when wearing the earbuds. I was able to hear conversations, TV and sounds around my home better when I have them in. The downside for me is when I have them in when I'm eating or drinking. The sound I hear is similar to when you put your hands over your ears. Everything is internalized and enhanced inside my head. Perhaps I will get used to this, but a better solution for me is to take them out when I'm eating/drinking. When I'm on the phone or listening to music through the earbuds, I find the sound quality to be quite good. I'd say the sound quality is equal to my Apple Ear Pods and maybe better. I believe this device is a great intermediary step before you need to get a full-blown hearing aid. They are expensive, but a lot less than a decent set of hearing aids.

First, you literally cannot set up the app.An entire Reddit page dedicated to this fact including their reresentative several months ago saying they were aware of the problem and were working on it. In ear, they sound like if you stuck two straws into your ears. a continual low whistling sound even when quiet. Finally, when you reach to take them out, a loud distortion pierces your brain. Ugh.

They were too large for me as I have very small ears. I have ordered a different kind of Lucid Hearing Aids but they haven’t arrived yet.

I have had endless issues with the Enhance Plus hearing aids. I am 1 year into owning them and have had to get them replaced 4 times now. The worst part is that each time they need work, I have to ship them out to Jabra, then wait a week or more until they ship me replacements meaning that I have no hearing aid for 2 weeks or more. Unfortunately, the issues didn't start until after the 45-day mark so there was no way to return them, just stuck dealing with them until my FSA was renewed. When they worked, they were fine, the setup is brutal. Breathe too loud and you have to restart the whole process, and each time I got sent new ones I had to redo the entire setup, there was no way to transfer the profile from the old one to the new one.
