App is great plus. Sound quality decent. Found the ear attachments big and bulky. Also heavy in ear.

I bought these for jogging purposes. I read the manual and wore them as suggested (wrapped over my ears). Even with the earpiece and fins fitted to my ear these would not stay in the duration of my jog. The first 15 minutes were good, but after that time I would have to keep pushing them in my ear canal, and fixing the cord around my ear. I gave them 3 jogs before giving up and returning the item to BestBuy.

headphones looks nice and are light weight when i wear them. But the sound crackles in the background sometimes especially when i watch movies or listen music. I asked jaybird customer service about it and they offered to swap for a new one but i declined because the crackle is bearable. It stays in my ears most of the time. I ended up giving these to my buddy after a few months because i got bose heaphones instead.

My first thought not user friendly at all. Also they don't have the bass that I need even after using the companion app. Maybe is just me.

Had to replace my Jaybird X2 buds because the sound started cutting out after about a year of use. Since I had the insurance, I exchanged them for the latest model: X3. Although Jaybird makes a great product (I really loved my X2 set!!), there are two main reasons for my 1-Star rating of X3. First, the cord is shorter than my previous pair, and since I hang them around my neck a lot (I often use them to talk on the phone during the workday), they tend to flip off of my neck because they aren't quite long enough to hang securely. There have been times, when walking in public, that they just fall to the ground. I've been lucky so far..haven't lost them completely yet. Second, and this one is so annoying....when I'm watching video on my phone, such as on Instagram, YouTube, etc., THE SOUND DOES NOT MATCH THE VISUAL. So if I'm watching someone speak, their mouth is not matching what I'm hearing. THIS IS SO ANNOYING. I'm on my second pair of X3s, because after being on tech support with Jaybird, and the troubleshooting steps did not resolve this, they determined that my set was defective. Not so. My new X3s are no better. I do not like this version of Jaybirds...I love the brand but this rendition is NO GOOD.

The ear pieces actually caused my wife's ears to break out. She has pretty sensitive skin, but hasn't had this issue with other earbuds.

These headphones have no bass to them. They are too quiet and you have to turn them up all the way to get any even remotely decent sound

The rubber wire that goes behind your neck didn't slide AT ALL on my skin, so EVERY time I turned my head, it would try to RIP the headphone out of my ear, PAINFULLY! The controls weren't convenient to reach. I gave it one star because the sound quality was fine, and the noise cancelling was fine, as well. I eneded up having to return them.

    Defective Units or Terrible Product?

First off, AWFUL customer service by the Jaybird company. Canned responses on their message board and terrible response time via their only method to contact them (email/ticketing system). The problem with the pair that I got is apparently a common issue for others. 1 week old and they either would not hold their charge, wouldn't turn on and charging light stopped working. BlueTooth is also iffy if you use the "Over the Ear" config (which is great for runners, so kinda stinks). The company's canned message says to "reset" the device and to avoid doing certain things (none of which is included with the included instruction manual). FYI... resetting did nothing. Others are fed up on the Jaybird community site. Getting canned responses or told they should reach back out to the support team via email. I expected better for a $100+ pair of earbuds. If you are thinking of getting these, do two things. 1. Get the Service Plan that BB offers or 2. go with a different brand, because if by chance you get a defective one.... you have very little options after the initial 14 days per BB return policy. Good luck!

Good pricing given the competition of Bluetooth headphones on the market, didn’t satisfy the lows I was looking for however.

      Hello Seismogeek,

We appreciate your positive feedback on the Jaybird X3's sound quality. We are sorry to hear that you cannot get the best fit/seal and we'll be glad to help you out! Just send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of.

For future reference, you can try these suggestions regarding seal and fit (for all models):

      1. Test over-ear/under-ear fit
      2. Test all combinations of eartips and wings, including different sizes in each ear
      3. You may view the instructional video on this link:

      http://www.jaybirdsport.com/support/
      4. The eartips do not have to match---you can use one size on one ear and a different size on another

    One earbud stopped working

The X3 worked fine for about 6-7 months, and suddenly last week one of the earbuds stopped working. No sound comes out of the earbud that is closest to the remote device, while the other earbud still has sound. Tried on another device and still no sound out of one earbud, and also did reset...but still no sound out of the one earbud. Hoping Jaybird, helps to fix or replace because it is still within 1yr warranty.

I really liked these headphones, but they have not held up well. I used them consistently for running once or twice a week. Within a few months of purchase, the LED stopped working but they were otherwise functional. Now, after a little over a year, they have stopped working altogether. I expect more given the price and that these are marketed as “sport” headphones.
