JBL’s new soundbar system looks good and sounds even better. The system supports Dolby Atmos and DTS. It even has two detachable speakers. The BAR1300MK2 is an 11.1.4 channel system. The sub is large and can generate a lot of base for theatre like feel and the soundbar does a good job of reproducing mids and highs. The physical size of the sub is big, but JBL engineered it to be taller than most so it ends up taking up about the same amount of floor space as other manufacturer’s subs. The soundbar is very long compared to most other manufacturers’ soundbars. It also has a lot of weight to it. Though, JBL does include hardware for mounting it. The soundbar has two detachable speakers. With those two detached, it isn’t quite so long. The feature of detachable speakers is nice. It enables me to have a stereo setup by detaching the speakers and setting them to the right and left behind where I sit. Unfortunately, the way the stereo setting in that setup works is that I have to enable it in the app and if I turn it off or need to recharge the two detachable speakers, it will turn off the stereo setting. This causes me to have to go back into the app and turn that on again. This can be changed by JBL in the future with an update to the app so that it doesn’t reset when I need to recharge the two detachable speakers. JBL includes end caps for the soundbar that I use when I detach the two speakers. They also include magnetic covers for the bottom of each of the detachable speakers. The end caps/covers are easy for me to attach and remove. They also protect the charging contacts of each of the two speakers and the contacts on each end of the soundbar. It has support for ARC and has multiple HDMI inputs, a LAN port, USB-A port, and an optical port. The JBL One app is where I control and set the settings for the soundbar system. There is also an included remote that I use. The app is where I can set the stereo setting when I want to detach the speakers and use the system in stereo. It also has an EQ and multiple EQ presets I can select from. It’s also where I can do firmware updates. The app is easy to use and is well designed. I do like and utilize the detachable speakers. I’m glad JBL added that feature. I have no doubt that JBL will update the JBL One app over time. Adding features and making adjustments from user feedback. Overall, I like it and I’m happy with the sound quality and clarity. If you are looking for a new soundbar and also would like the detachable speaker feature, then I would recommend considering the JBL BAR1300MK2 11.1.4 channel soundbar system. I think people will be happy with it.

I recently purchased this JBL soundbar system and have been very impressed with the overall performance. The sound quality is crisp and powerful, with deep bass that adds a true theater feel to movies and music. Dialogue comes through clearly, even at lower volumes, and the wireless subwoofer gives the system a rich, immersive sound. Setup was quick and simple, and the sleek design looks great in the room. Overall, JBL delivered a soundbar system that offers excellent value, premium sound, and a great home entertainment experience.

This bar sounds great when playing a movie. The detachable rear speakers are convenient. I was hopeful they would also be great for music and give us the opportunity to move a speaker outside and to another room so we could enjoy throughout our home. The rear speakers don’t get very loud even when turning their volume to max. That feature is meh. Overall sound quality for music is fine, nothing to brag about, but movies sound great!

With the space in our home, I wanted to be able to have a premium surround sound without having cords showing. This is one of the only true wireless rear speaker surround systems I could find. It is a decent chunk of change, but you definitely get what you pay for. The sound is powerful, and the quality is pure. The tech used changes the playback based on what you are watching or listening to. The ability to play music over airplay changes the audio to Spatial Audio which makes the sound quality of the music even better. It truly is an immersive experience. When watching tv or action movies, the system recognizes and adjusts to make speech audible rather than being drowned out by all of the background noise. The rear speakers dock onto the main bar for charging and the charge lasts for several hrs before needing to “dock” them for charging. The sub is powerful and gives you a theater-like feel to action movies. I could go on, but after waiting for about a month to review, I am very pleased with my purchase and would 100% purchase if faced with the decision again.

Just picked this up on sale to replace my Bar1000mk1. I have a huge living room with high ceilings and wasn't getting the Atmos effects I expected. While the Bar1300mk2 was noticeably louder, the Atmos was still underwhelming. That is until I found a tip on Reddit.....don't calibrate!! I reset to factory settings and put it in manual movie mode and WHOA this baby came to life. All of a sudden the rears were so involved in the room that I would get startled from various affects coming from them. Made all the difference in the world. Calibration is probably fine for smaller rooms or low ceilings but keep this tip in mind if you are less than impressed after calibrating. As for music, this thing has the raw power to blow you away. Detach the rears and create a concert hall. Have only streamed Apple Music so far but it was VERY impressive in a large space. I dont find the bass overwhelming like some reviews. Seems perfectly fine at 4 or even 5. Walls aren't shaking but it isn't missing from the mix either.

I went back and forth on which soundbar to get and very happy that I went with JBL, Dialogue is very clear, unlike some reviews. Maybe it was a previous generation model, but EQ lets you tailor key frequencies individually. Sub is awesome for home experience and you have to have volume at least on level 8 to get the full theater experience. The louder, the more you get out of it.

I was looking for something to add to our vacation. I have much larger componet sorround sound system at my primary home that I spent a lot of money on and hardly ever use so I reasearched sound bas for a month. What I really liked about the JBL was the wireless battery powered removable speakers thand can be used for rear surround. Teh sound bar makes just watching tv an experoiece. Watching a movie that has Dolbly Atmos sound just setting the rears on a toile top behind the couch and i swear it sound as good as my system at home that I have too much money in. Amazing for what it is. High build quality, did not disappoint me at all. I high recommend them

The soud bar looks and sounds great. Not a fan of the look or size of the sub, though. Would prefer to have two eights (one passive) design. The wireless surrounds work great. Had originally bought the sennheiser ambeo plus, but like the jbl system better. I had wanted the Sennheiser becasue i coild add my own sub and it had analog RCA input. The JBL switches inputs easier than the sennheiser

Coming from the Bar 9.1 I had attempted to upgrade to some other systems over the years but nothing compared. This has all the improvements you could ask for. It has better separation and detail. The rears are fuller sounding and blend in better. The sub blends better with everything. Not as in your face as the 9.1 but actually has more power when you need it. The detail though is what i really noticed. Small things like drop keys or quite scenes with far off noises are audible and catch your attention.

A sound system that shakes the room. This guy carries a nice punch even flow of sound pleasant to the ear. No issues thus far aside a couple of times of a signal drop between the wireless speakers and the bar, but that’s the only critic I could offer. The targetted calibration feature is nice to ensure the correct balance of sound from all speakers in relation to where you are specifically seated if you choose to calibrate it in such a way.

I had an LG sky9 and upgraded to this sound bar. The detachable a speaker are wondeful for surround and the atmos of them makes top gun maverick a different movie. We watched cars last night and the racing scenes where amazing with the detachable speakers. It connects nicely to my tv just had to add 132ms of delay but overall nicely packaged and great sound for our movies and tv enjoyment

Purchased as a christmas gift for my parents and they absolutely love it. The bass shakes our 2600sqft house and when properly set up the Dolby Atmos Surround sound is great for a soundbar. Good buy.

I selected this sound bar because of its great reviews for large rooms. It did not disappoint!

Get this soundbar. Its worth every penny over the lower models. Huge difference upgrading from the Bar 500. I never knew what I was missing. It definitely helps power through my open Livingroom with vaulted ceilings. The Bar 1000 I think would have just gotten lost due my Livingroom setup. If you are using this in a small bedroom, you could save some with 1000 instead. Nut hands down this is a get soundbar that outperforms the competition.

This is a great sound bar system. I really like the wireless rear speakers which can be moved around the house as regular bluetooth speakers

Love this sound bar after trying 3 different sound bars and returning them i gave this jbl 1300mk2 a try and it did not disappoint the bass hits hard and the removable rear speakers are great no wires to deal with. If you are debating on witch one to buy try the jbl1300 mk2 first you won't regret it.

LOVE this system! Fills my large family room with clear sound! Love the detachable rechargeable surround speakers… we set them on the back of the couch for movies, or way back in opposite corner during parties when just playing music for background.
