just installed 3 of these, motion detection range is somewhat narrow as others have mentioned. otherwise, works great as a smart switch, can disable motion sensing as needed to work just a a smart dimmer only. not able to use motion capability as trigger for IFTTT.

Peripheral detection in need of correction

The peripheral detection feature does not have the 180 degree field of detection that TP-Link Kasa advertises. I replaced a Lutron motion activated switch in my bathroom with the Kasa Motion Activated Dimmer Switch and was greatly disappointed by the limited peripheral motion sensitivity. It does, however, work well with Google Assistant. I now have only 2 options when a guest wants to use my bathroom either command Google Assistant to turn on the bathroom light or have the guest try to locate the switch in the dark. I am seriously considering re-installing the Lutron switch.

simple and easy setup, works great with the kasa/tp-link setup. Able to setup, dim, control, just make sure you follow the steps to turn on the motion detection. Once I did that it worked amazingly well!

Did not take long to install and program, it dose what I need. I like when using bathroom at 4 am dimmer is set to come on with motion " I REALLY LIKE THAT ". Will be getting more when they go on sale!

Put this in our bathroom and works perfectly. I set it to the lowest light level for the middle of the night so those late night bathroom visits, it does not wake my spouse.

I have plenty of Kasa switches and plugs. I honestly love their products, but sad to say this one turned out to be their worst product so far in my opinion has a mind of its own, works sometimes or doesn’t. I think the motion sensor sucks. Kasa, please improve. Returning this switch.

Pros: - Easy device setup. - User-friendly Kasa mobile app. Cons: - Motion sensor range is far too narrow. Just about half the range of competing motion sensor switches that have been available for a few years. - Manual dimmer controls suffer from a lengthy lag that is likely to impact practical use.
