If a Lamborghini or Ferrari were ever reincarnated as a keyboard, it would be the Keychron. The sleek, modern design feels like having a high-performance vehicle right at my fingertips. Every key press is incredibly satisfying, delivering a premium feel that matches the refined craftsmanship of an exotic car. The build quality is top-notch—solid, substantial, and beautifully finished, giving it a luxury appeal that reminds me of stepping into a finely-tuned sports car.
The volume knob is a standout feature. It’s perfectly positioned, smooth as silk, and has that distinct tactile feel that makes you want to reach for it again and again. It’s not just a control but an experience.
Then there’s the sound. Or rather, the lack of it. The dampened sound profile is amazing. Each press is muted just enough, providing a deep, satisfying thock rather than a loud clack, which makes it feel incredibly high-end. In short, this keyboard is the Lamborghini of its kind—sleek, powerful, and engineered to perfection.

Works great, Mac users will appreciate all the features and functions just be sure to use the appropriate browser to utilize keychrons launcher app. This app was easy enough to figure out but it took me some time to explore the features and functionality. This app is a MUST as this keyboard features remappable keys ( note: this model is not a full keyboard). The red keys are very easy to press and have a low/mid level of noise to them when pressed but do not click like a mouse does. The body is plastic but solid and heavy so it stays put. This keyboard doesn’t look or feel cheap and appears to be well made and there is definitely some noise reduction/sound dampening lending to a solid feel. If you need or prefer backlit keys this keyboard has all that, however the key symbols themselves are not backlit, and therefore not as visible in low light conditions.

The Keychron V5 Max is an outstanding wireless mechanical keyboard! The QMK/VIA compatibility makes customization a breeze, and the hot-swappable red switches provide a smooth, responsive typing experience. The RGB lighting is vibrant, and the 96% layout is compact yet functional. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable, customizable keyboard.

This is my first mechanical keyboard, and I have to say I have no idea why I waited so long. This keyboard provides one the most comfortable, and enjoyable typing experiences I have ever had.
Prior to purchasing this Keychron I had only used non-mechanical keyboards, the last being my old Logitech K360. Which up until this one I really enjoyed, but this has been like going from a 60Hz monitor to 120Hz plus. Unbelievably nice.
The design is sleek and appealing, the ability to customize it is new to me but definitely welcome. The typing action is buttery smooth, with a nice thunk noise. It's an overall very enjoyable tactile experience.

I wasn’t planning on falling in love with a keyboard, but here we are.
The Keychron V5 Max checked every box I didn’t even realize I had. First off, the 96% layout is chef’s kiss — you get the number pad, arrow keys, and everything else without taking up a mile of desk space. It’s compact and complete, which is honestly hard to find.
Typing on it? Silky smooth. The red switches are quiet enough for work calls but still have that buttery mechanical feel I was looking for. It’s hot-swappable too, so I can mess around with different switches later if I want — but honestly, I’m loving it as is.
The build quality is solid. No creaks, no cheap plastic vibes. It feels like a tank in the best way. The RGB lighting is vibrant but not obnoxious (unless you want it to be), and it’s fully programmable with QMK/VIA, which was super easy to set up even as someone who’s not deep into keyboard modding.
Battery life’s been great so far, and I love being able to switch between wired and wireless depending on what I’m doing. The tri-mode connection (Bluetooth, 2.4GHz, wired) is a total game changer.
If you're into customizing your setup or just want a killer keyboard that looks good and types even better, this thing is absolutely worth it. Keychron nailed it.

This is an impressive mechanical keyboard that blends style, performance, and customizability, making it an excellent choice for both enthusiasts and casual users.
The keyboard’s build quality feels rock solid, and the overall weight gives it a high-end, durable feel. One standout feature of the V5 Max is its hot-swappable design, which allows you to easily swap out switches. This adds a layer of customization, allowing you to experiment with different switches to find the perfect feel.
The V5 Max supports wired (USB-C) and wireless (Bluetooth 5.1) connectivity. It can pair with up to three devices via Bluetooth and switch between them effortlessly. The wireless connection is stable, and I experienced no significant lag or dropouts during use.
The hot-swappable red switches offer a smooth and quiet typing experience. I use it in an office setting and my coworkers said they do not notice it any more than other keyboards.
The RGB backlighting is vibrant, with various lighting effects and customization options available. Whether you prefer a subtle static color or a dynamic, reactive light show, the Keychron V5 Max looks beautiful.
The keyboard is equipped with a 4000mAh battery, which provides excellent battery life in wireless mode. Under regular usage, you can expect to get a week or two of use without needing to recharge.
This is an exceptional mechanical keyboard that offers an excellent balance of performance, customizability, and build quality. Its hot-swappable design and wireless connectivity make it a versatile option for a wide range of users. The overall experience is hard to beat in this price range. If you’re looking for a solid, customizable mechanical keyboard with a premium feel, the Keychron V5 Max is a fantastic choice.

This keyboard change my work life - LOVE IT

The Keychron V5 Max has quickly become my absolute favorite keyboard, and honestly, it’s been such a joy to use every day. This was my first mechanical keyboard, and I didn’t realize how big of a difference it would make for my workflow and overall typing experience. The loud, satisfying click with every keystroke just makes typing feel fun again. Whether I’m working through emails, writing documents, or doing everyday tasks, it adds this enjoyable rhythm that I didn’t know I was missing.
The 96% layout is the perfect sweet spot too. It gives you almost a full-size keyboard—complete with the number pad—while still keeping the footprint compact and clean. It fits beautifully on my desk without crowding things, and the overall design looks sleek and modern. The wireless connectivity is rock-solid, and switching between devices is smooth, which makes it great for work setups that involve multiple screens or systems.
The RGB lighting adds even more personality. I love being able to customize the colors and effects, especially since Keychron’s lighting always looks sharp and vibrant without being distracting. It gives the keyboard a little flair, which makes my workspace feel more fun and expressive.
One of the best features, though, is the hot-swappable switches. Even though I’m currently using the red switches—and loving the loud, clicky feel—it’s nice knowing I can experiment with different switch types down the line without replacing the entire keyboard. It feels like a device that can grow with you and your preferences.
Overall, the Keychron V5 Max has brought so much joy to my daily work. It’s comfortable, customizable, beautifully built, and makes typing genuinely enjoyable. For a first mechanical keyboard, it’s been an amazing experience—and now I totally understand why people get so passionate about these things.

Excellent keyboard but not for my fingers :(
I loved it and used it for a few weeks but my typing slowed down. I got it for work use. I don't know why I kept making mistakes typing on it...maybe I am not used to typing on mechanical keyboards. I prefer low profile keys. But the typing feel and the quality of the Keychron V5 Max is just perfect for the price. It is a solid keyboard. The volume knob is a nice feature. The click sound, the key travel, backlighting and over all quality of the keyboard is work the money. I will most likely get the full 100% version for home use inthe future.

One of the better budget keyboards with a numpad. It's a good starter keyboard. Build quality is good. Keycaps felt ok. Keychron software is similar to VIA and is very intuitive to use, and you don't have to download/install the software.
I ended up returning it because I wanted to tinker further with keycaps and switches, and this board did not sound like what I expected when I replaced those components. However, the product is still excellent and of good quality, so I'll give it 5 stars

Fantastic keyboard! built solid and has some weight to it. The keys, when pressed have a nice sound, not too loud. You can add accessories, the customer support has been great, they respond quickly, and are very helpful. My only complaint, for me, is the fact that if you want to update the firmware, it's not easy, at least for me, they do walk you through it though. But according to Keychron, it's unnecessary, unless you're having issues, but if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Great keyboard would highly recommend, and it won't drain your bank.

For off-the-shelf keyboards, it doesn't get much better than Keychron. It has great sounding switches, it's lightweight, and it has multiple options for connectivity (wired, 4.2, BT). Keycaps are decent too, but you'll want to swap those out for something shine through if you you want to take advantage of the south facing RGB LEDs.

Very cool keyboard. I wanted something compact but with numpads for Blender use. This replaced my Corsair keyboard. Only problem is I need to use with usb cable once in two weeks to charge it. There are so many shortcuts for windows as well. Loving it.
