Like me, you probably read every review on every dishwasher out there. I have to say, as a mom of 3 kids under 3 (crazy I know) this dishwasher meets everything on my checklist that I was looking for. 1-Stainless steel interior 2-Finger print resistant 3- A Quick wash option. 4- Not Expensive. I have been using this dishwasher daily since March 2018. Using mainly the Express wash with extended heat. I am very happy with the results. It's about 1hr wash. As a mom, that's great! The number of bottles and sippy cups I use daily, 1 hour wait is nothing. I have used the Normal wash and it's about 2hr wash with the extended dry cuz face it, there's not a dishwasher out there that will dry everything completely so any extra bit helps. Some people's expectations on drying I have read is crazy. The 3rd rack on the model is a bonus. Yes, like most people gripe about, the height is tight. My baby bottle nipples don't fit, not a big deal. I put them on the top rack. What does fit are all my sippy cup tops and parts, large knifes and spatulas. If you don't like the 3rd rack, remove it. It's Removable people! It's super quite. I have a few times opened it cause I couldn't hear it. So sound quility is great. It has a LED screen on the front to let you know what it is doing so an added bonus that Kitchen aid never mentioned. I am not one who has to have all the bells and whisles. I am a working mom and wife that needs a dishwasher to clean, clean quick and well. By the way, I still rinse my dishes before I load them just out of habit. I did leave a few dishes & silverware caked with stuff a few times to test. Well, it passed with flying colors. Since I do rinse my dishes, I hardly ever clean the manual filter that it has. One more thing to add. With 3 sets of little hands running around, the PrintShield finish on the dishwasher is Amazing. Just a simple wipe down, that's it. So what more can you ask for. Great Dishwasher and I would recommend this model to anyone, especially ones with kids :)

Bought it on Black Friday with a 300 discount, but I would pay regular price for it, very quiet, clean and dry very well, looks very nice in my kitchen, and it has a LED screen by the handle to let you know what is doing....

I bought this dishwasher September 2018, and it worked great up until mid August 2019. It was extremely quiet, got the dishes cleaner than I thought any dishwasher possibly could, and looked great in my kitchen while doing it. One day in mid-August 2019 the dishes started smelling like dog stink. I did not think much of it, but my wife persisted. Then she noticed there was standing water in the bottom of the dishwasher. I did not contact BestBuy, because it was under factory warranty, I instead contacted KitchenAid's website and it walked me through setting up a service call. This is when the problems really started. The service shop in my area is Diamond Factory Service, an authorized repair shop for KitchenAid . First off, they arrived a day early. Strange, and we told them to come back at the scheduled time and day. The day they were supposed to come, they were late. They finally showed up, ran some codes, and said the control board was bad. They set up an appointment, came late again to swap the board, and the problem persisted. I set up another appointment, they came late again, ran some codes, and this time said the drain level switch was bad. They set up a date about a week later to change it, and the morning of they called to at least tell me they will be late. Then about an hour before they are scheduled to arrive, they call again saying they forgot to order the part and it will be another week. I am nearing the end of my warranty at this point and am quite frustrated, understandably so considering that I am having these problems with a supposedly high end, $750 dishwasher. Not just with the dishwasher, but the fact that KitchenAid works with and sent me to a seemingly incompetent "authorized" service shop, who cannot even arrive on time yet alone diagnose and fix the problem. To wrap this up, they come late again to replace the level sensor, and it still does not work. I am out of warranty and am letting anyone considering this product know the full story of how KitchenAid will treat you after spending a lot of money on one of their premium products. I just wrote to KitchenAid's support center to voice my displeasure, and hopefully get a new dishwasher that actually works. I will update this review based on their actions.

The KitchenAid is a replacement for my failed dishwasher. I picked up at Best Buy warehouse, installed myself. Dishwasher is very quiet compared to the one it replaced. It gets the dishes clean and dishes are dryer. I purchased this model for the third rack. I find that I do not use the third rack as much as I was thinking. I am happy with the purchase.

Remarkable machine but word of advice...

Really have nothing to add that hasn't already been mentioned in the many thoughts others have posted here but I did want to share a thought. I had my machine delivered and installed yesterday. Because of my curious nature, I couldn't help but want to check the filter at the bottom of the tub (namely because today's machines have these easily accessible compared to my last machine which was 11 years old). I was surprised to see gunk (including a small piece of blue plastic) already spread across the filter and some sitting at the bottom beneath it! My next thought was whether this was a previously used machine , or somehow this was overlooked from the manufacturer or if the installation kit used from Best Buy has these components in the draining tubes and made it's way to the filter after the first test run by the installation team. So my advice would be to have the installation team observe the content and cleanliness of the installation kit and filter before leaving your property. I ran a full cycle to clean the washer and it and the subsequent dish washer yielded no additional clutter in the filters or elsewhere so all is good as of this review. I'll update if that changes.

I've waited 4 months before posting this review. After a VERY long life, our old maytag stopped working well. It made grinding noises, smelled hot and finally stopped cleaning the dishes. It was time for a new dishwasher. I researched and researched dishwashers and narrowed it down between the Bosch and the Kitchenaid. I went to Bestbuy and looked at both the models and I liked the layout of the Kichenaid over the Bosch model. So, I pulled the trigger and bought the Kitchenaid model. I had BestBuy install the dishwasher for me. I was very glad that I did. I consider myself a very handy guy but they guys ran into some issues with the install. I live in a very old house and sometimes it makes life complicated! In this case, there was barely enough electrical line to get the dishwasher hooked up. As I remember it, the old maytag had the electrical connection on the left side but the new Kitchenaid is on the right. There were millimeters to spare but the guys pulled it off! Another installer might have said nope can't do it and to call an electrician. They were great, professional and very knowledgeable. There are several different wash settings. Heavy, normal, express etc. I will complement the low noise of this unit. It is so quite! After dealing with old boat motor of the Maytag for so many years, this one is so nice and quiet! I have used all the settings and in my home, my city water, my use, my experience the dishes never come clean. Sometimes I pull out a dish and I have to double check to see if I even ran the dishwasher. The dishes are still that dirty! I have attached some pictures, I have ran this load 3 times on the "heavy" setting and they look just as dirty after the 3rd load as they did after the first! I am very disappointed. It does a better job of getting the silverware clean. That puzzles me that the dishes stay dirty but the silverware get 90% clean. There will be a fork and spoon in every load that still is dirty but the rest are spotless. Also, it gets all the debris loose, all the dishes in the pictures just wiped clean by hand. It definitely softens and loosens but doesn't clean the debris away. I know the smoothy cup looks gross but after 3 "Heavy" washes, I expect it too look better than that! I would not recommend buying this model. Maybe the Bosch was the better buy. It seems wasteful to replace this one so soon but what's the point of having a dishwasher that doesn't work.

This dishwasher cleans well, is quiet, and easy to load. I really like the third rack for small measuring cups and large utensils. We are still getting used to having the power buttons on top of the door-- we Inadvertently hit them sometimes. The wash cycle does take a long time but this model does have a quick wash if we wanted to wash glasses or lightly dirty dishes. Manufacturer recommends using gelpacs instead of liquid detergent. The filter is easy to remove and clean!! Overall very pleased with dishwasher!

When we moved into our new house over a year ago, we weren't expecting the included GE dishwasher to die off quite so soon; in hindsight, we should have known better, since the dishwasher was as old as the house: 10 years old. The D/W refused to recognize that it latched, and dishes never got cleaned. Thankfully there were some great deals on this KitchenAid that included free installation, so we decided to invest in it. After having it for a couple of weeks, I can say we love our new D/W! A lot of this review will be comparing it to our old one. The layout of the racks is very efficient, and I love that the top rack and be raised and lowered as needed to fit items. The third rack, while not a requirement for us, was a nice touch and it is nice to have somewhere to put the chopsticks (which always fell through) and the knives (so they didn't stab us). The dishwasher is quiet--almost too quiet! The first time I ran it I had to lean down next to it to verify that there was, in fact, something going on in there. The only loud things that happened were when the water rushed into the garbage disposal during the cycle. It's wonderful, I can start a load of dishes and watch TV from across the room while continuing to clean the kitchen and still hear it. The dishwasher cleans exquisitely. Have had several loads with baking pans and sheets with burnt-on gunk, and the dishes have all come out looking spotless. I don't really consider it a con, per se, but something to note is the length of the cycle. Compared to the relatively short washes of my first dishwasher, it has taken a bit to get used to, especially with the Heavy wash/dry setting, which takes about 3 hours. Obviously it works and it's quiet so it's not necessarily anything negative. Again, just something to adjust to (fairly easily). The unit itself is beautiful. I like the display on the front that shows you how far in the cycle--and in what part of the cycle--the wash is. The touch controls are fairly responsive and easy to use. A word about the install: I had two encounters w/ Geek Squad with this purchase. The initial installers were great and efficient, and gave me a nice tutorial on the machine. They also pointed out something--that the corner of the display was cracked during delivery. They immediately let me know about it, and scheduled a follow-up appointment so that another GS person could install a new control board. It took a week for the part to come in and the person to come out and fix it, and it was done quickly and efficiently as well. Bang up job all around. Bottom line, I'm very pleased.

Super roomy-- holds way more stuff than our old one-- and super quiet! Only noise is when the water drains out, and even that is quieter than before. We can actually have a conversation while it's running. First tried the Express, but didn't add a Drying option, so everything was clean but still damp. Then tried the full run with drying, and it was perfect-- sparkling clean and totally dry. Used Finish rinse aid and the Cascade detergent that was provided. It's also beautiful-- very elegant looking machine. And I love the third rack for flatware!

Wow. What a difference between my 18-year-old perfectly working great GE and this new one. Plus points - I bought this after going through so many reviews. As said in the reviews, in the first load, I wanted to do a load test, stress test, cleaning test etc. I loaded it, to the maximum capacity it can hold. Plates were with cheese, Idly-sambar dried up, bowls with all cereals, scoops with all dried rice, dirty spoons etc. I was sceptical it would clean all of it (for my previous GE , dishes required pre-cleaning and post-cleaning). Once the cycle completed, after 3 hours, I opened the door to find all dishes very very clean. I was really amazed. What a difference. Worth every penny. Little scrap left at the bottom, it can be cleaned manually. I do it once in a month. During the heat cycle, water evaporated through the side vent. My dish washer sits exactly exposing the side vent, so my cabinet wood is not spoilt. The controls are touch sensitive, just what I wanted, but my wife dislikes it, as it is too sensitive. Now I load, 3 full diswashers in a week compared to one, every two weeks. With this, I was thinking, I would get a big electricity bill, but again, this is so economic, my bills are clocking less than my previous bills. If anyone has not upgraded their dishwasher, I would strongly recommend to upgrade to the latest one. Whether you buy this, or any other dishwasher, it will be always great, with such ECO models. Also my previous GE, when it is running, the sound was like a grinder, but this one, is so quiet, I can hardly make out, even if I am standing in the Kitchen. Only time you can make out that the dishwasher is running, is when it vents the used water. Minus - The sensitive touch, for some of them, may be annoying. Else, I would recommend it to anyone.

Our 8 year old dishwasher was not really performing that well and very loud. Neighbor Ryan who works at Pacific sales recommended the KitchenAide dishwasher, because it was all stainless and very, very quiet. We were also given free installation and disposal of the the old model. We also have an open great room to the kitchen, believe me when I say this thing is quiet. Price was right and we couldn't be happier with the look (no handle) sticking out either! Thanks Ryan!
