Great Ultrabook with some minor quirks

This is a great laptop. It's powerful, the screen is brilliant and clear, the SSD loads everything you need in an instant, and I'm a personal fan of Windows 8.1 (even on my desktop) so the touchscreen is a good compliment. I use it for word processing, the usual internet/email stuff and minor gaming (Hearthstone is wonderful on it in Stand mode while sitting on the couch). The hinges seem well built and I have confidence in them even months after my purchase and constantly flipping it about and poking at the screen in the various modes. It's a pleasure to hold and touch as the thinness combined with the material texture really adds to the tactile user experience.
The minor issues that I have with this machine are as follows:
Heat - With great power and thinness comes a decent amount of warmth. I was hoping the new-gen i7 mitigated this a bit more. It's still cooler than many other laptops (especially older ones) but I wouldn't call it "cool" by any means. If you play any games beyond Hearthstone type stuff be prepared for a very hot experience (use a table / laptop cooler).
Keyboard - It's not a typical ThinkPad keyboard, but it's still a Lenovo. What this means is that the keys feel fine and provide good feedback 90% of the time. There are a few places on mine (left edge of spacebar, home key, backspace key, delete key) where it somewhat sticks / has a more jarring bounceback. It's not bad by any means, but just different than the other keys' responses.
Trackpad - I experienced 0 issues with the usability of the trackpad itself. I have just noticed that the left side (the left-click side) has sunk in just a tiny bit and is no longer flush with the body. OCD buyers beware.
Battery life - Not as advertised, but still decent. I get 6+ hours on mine with light use, or a couple hours if doing the light gaming at low resolution.
All in all it's a wonderful machine and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful, thin, light, ultra high resolution laptop that's a joy to handle and use. The minor complaints listed above are the only things keeping it from being a perfect 5* machine.
It's also worthwhile to note that I did not experience any of the yellow cast screen issues, the WiFi issues, or the trackpad issues. All of that seems to have been resolved. There is, however, still the low-brightness flicker once in a while. I just tick it up one more brightness level (this usually happens around 20%-30% brightness) and the issue is gone.
Buy it, and enjoy.

I've had the computer for about a month and half
The computer right out of the box is great for setup. But it forces you to create and use an Outlook.com email instead of allowing you to use your own. You then can add your other emails. Most applications like Pandora, OkCupid or Plenty of Fish are only available through a 3rd Party version, are under different names and mostly do not work(confirmed by other users). The craigslist application does not give you the same amount of search results as their main website. Very frustrating. Other application issues between using the app mode and regular computers is internet explorer. When using the App mode the controls are frustrating to use and you "can't print from an app" when going to devices to print. As of right now if I add favorites they are communicated between the two... It's like the two programs are completely separate from each other. I would like to see an App for Mozilla/Firefox. The reason we use non-apple computers is to have the open free source programs. It feels like Lenovo (formerly IBM) is trying to push their programs on us like apple does. Might be an issue with licensing issues between different computer brands?!?....
Last the lack of a Startup button is beyond frustrating. Be careful when looking for a startup replacement button and all the licensing talk that goes with it.
What I do like is that it's thin, light weight, touch screen, quick, great resolution. Basically it workers great on the hardware side but need to seriously brush up on the software side. I've even had issues converting word files to .pdf versions through their alternative trial program. It works for some files and not others.

This is my second Yoga 2 Pro. Sadly, I lost my first one to a spill. I had a chance to get the Yoga 2 Pro or the new Yoga 3 Pro to replace it. Although the new Yoga 3 Pro was thinner and lighter, I didn't notice a big difference in size. I really wanted the HP of the I7 processor on the Yoga 2 Pro. It performs very close to my desktop and the SSD drive flies. The screen is gorgeous, though the scaling can be a challenge for some apps. I've learned to just decrease the screen resolution if I end up with screen problems with legacy programs. The Yoga 2 Pro also boots up super fast. Ironically, I haven't used it as a tablet much. I mainly use it as a laptop. A great overall ultrabook that's worth the price!

Overall I am happy with my purchase. I bought this computer for personal use after having a relatively new HP Envy 17.3 model for business use. The resolution is excellent and comparable to the HP Envy. I love the lightweight compact design that allows me to take the unit anywhere and do work, i.e. I can sit on the couch and browse the internet etc. However if you tend to use the touchscreen method vs a mouse, you need to touch or tap lightly due to the computer being so light it moves easily. The one thing I am having trouble adapting to is the feel of the keys. I have been typing for over 35 years and like to press firmly. The keys don't have much travel distance and it has taken me some time to get used to it.

I love this computer. The screen resolution is outstanding, allowing multitasking through side by side programs. The computer boots up in roughly 8 seconds and boots from sleep in a few seconds. The casing appears well built and durable.
I hope that Lenovo can correct the poor yellow color, as it is annoying and a challenge for photo editing. I also wanted a dedicated graphics card but that is not yet available on otherwise comparable light ultrabooks.
Note that large hard drives are no longer necessary for most users due to high capacity and high speed flash memory and the availability of free web storage.

Bought the Lenovo for my son. Light weight, keyboard flips back and very fast. Besides his school work my son plays games on it. Powerful! I also bought the Geek Squad protection and they installed webrootand software on it. Excellent service too!

This computer is very fast, light, and the graphic is superb. I am very happy with it. I had to exchange the first one because the fan, for some reason, was a little bit noisy for my ear, but the second one was just perfect. The processor i7 is very fast and 8GB of RAM and the Solid State Drive make it exceptionally fast. I have owned many computers so far, different brands, but I could say this is the fastest I have had to date.
Sometimes internet explorer may have compatibility issues with the high resolution graphic, but that is a browser issue and goes away by refreshing the page. I use chrome most of the time anyway.
In conclusion, this computer has almost everything I need. The only thing for improvement that I would highly recommend it would be to have an active pen digitizer, as writing with an active pen would be more accurate and easier. Sometimes writing with the finger or regular tablet pens is not as accurate and would not be compared in quality with an active pen digitizer. I dont know if any user has managed to find a way to get an active pen that would work on this computer.
All in all, it is a superb computer (minus lack of an active pen). I highly recommend it for a busy professional who is on the go, who needs a touch screen to edit or comment on PDF files and who needs an exceptionally fast portable computer.

Even if this didn't turn into a huge tablet it's still the coolest laptop I've owned. It's fast, has a great display and is super light weight. The fact that you can convert it into a tablet and a A stand just makes it cooler. A great buy.

I bought this Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 on the suggestion of the Best Buy salesperson. I had been looking at the HP Spectre X360. The salesperson suggested that if it were his decision he would stick with the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 because they have been doing this type of convertible laptop for a long time. HP is just breaking into this market and he did not feel like they had all the bugs worked out of their new product yet. I took his suggestion and am glad that I did. I really like working with this machine. It is light, flexible and fast. It fires up super quick just like my Chromebook. That is probably the biggest plus to this machine. I don't need to leave it on all the time as it only takes a minute to fire up. I would trust Lenovo and buy another product in this category again if I needed a new one.

This laptop has a great battery life, is extremely light, and has excellent screen resolution. Unfortunately, it has a few issues. The laptop gets very hot very quickly. If I browse the internet for an hour, I can start feeling it get hot. The bluetooth volume is very low and I have yet to find a fix for this. Sometimes it also lags even with such a powerful processor. For the price, it shouldn't have any of these problems. I would have given if 5 stars if it was cheaper considering these issues.

I love the lenovo Yoga 2 Pro 2. It is super fast. Starts up in seconds. Love everything about it but one thing. It gets very hot on my lap. This is not good for someone that gets hot flashes. I thought about a fan, but than that defeats the purpose of having a light weight and portable computer. I have to send it back. I went ahead and bought another lenovo today. It is being shipped. Best Buy in Anchorage Ak on Dimond is wonderful. I have to do everything over the phone as I live 3 hours away.

This was a gift for my teenage son , he had initially wanted the surface Pro laptop by microsoft, but the price was too steep for me and it did not include a keyboard(that is separate), and its made by microsoft... The lenova has more of everything the surface pro had , it is amazingly fast and the graphics are awesome, but the best part was it was slightly less expensive. I feel he got the best of everything he was looking for and it is a great laptop that should last for a long time. No plastic blue keyboard like the one you get with the microsoft lap top oh thats right you don't get one you have to buy it seperately.

This is a great option for those seeking a lightweight, ultraportable laptop. Taking out the weight means sacrificing the DVD player/recorder, a large hard drive and some USB plugs. The biggest negative is Windows 8, which does not work like previous versions of Windows and requires a relearning process. The best feature may be the tablet functions which runs apps like a tablet or smartphone.

So when my other brand laptop failed, I had no choice but to go out and purchase a new computer which I use mostly for my business, but also for a little personal stuff too. There's a plethora of choices out there on the retail market, but the Lenovo 2-in-1, being extremely light-weight, fast, and easy to setup was a no brainer! Yep, it's a little pricey than others, but to get a laptop and tablet in one was advantageous. Again, instead of traveling with my 5+ lb old laptop, the Lenovo is under 2 lbs (I think) and doesn't break the back! The battery charges fast, and the battery life on the Lenovo is very good. I was a little worried about getting a 256 GB SSD, since I'm used to having more physical disk space on-board, but it has forced me to migrate my documents to the cloud, which means I have become used to working a little differently. After a couple of weeks getting used to Windows 8/8.1, I'm zipping along on the Lenovo, working with cloud storage for my documents, etc. The Lenovo is a great computing experience!

The computer is a really nice piece of hardware and the display is downright gorgeous. The keyboard is comfortable and the USB (2) and media card port gives the flexibility of add-on hardware that may be needed for business and other uses. The Intel core i7 processor is lightning fast although more costly than the option of the i5 processor. Not too heavy to carry around all the time. Been really pleased except for the 8.1 OS and Internet Explorer 11 that don't get along well with some programs and web applications. That's obviously not a flaw with the computer, just an inconvenience while the world catches up with the latest technology.

This is an awesome 2 in 1 laptop, tablet etc. The i7 hasswell processor does the job pretty well. The 4 modes for me work flawlessly - Laptop, Tent, Tablet and full flat. The screen is Quad HD + , and is the best to work with for a windows laptop. I have got to buy a stylus, and would update the review then. One negative is that the scaling is not good at times, but since this is something that is a WINDOWS issue. Hopefully this gets resolved in Windows 10. The issue is that at times the font in any message box is really small.
A must have for any home user, students. I use it for all my personal applications - like managing finance, movies, songs, microsoft office applications etc. Photoshop is something i have not tried on the laptop yet.
Enjoy!
