[Employee of bestbuy] Dual inverter window AC unit is a lot quieter and more efficient than your standard window unit AC models. Does the job extremely well. Only con is the higher price point but it is well worth the money for the energy saved. These units last a lifetime anyways, don’t sell yourself short.

Kept my house cool on the hottest of days, very quiet compared to traditional units, I really enjoy being able to turn on when I'm on the way home from work and also that it shows me how much electricity it is using. 10/10 would recommend

As best I can tell, this is the only dual-inverter window A/C in the 6000BTU size - Windmill, etc. only offer dual-inverters in 8000BTU and up. I've also had a long history using Goldstar/LG window units and have been happy with their performance and durability. We're using it in our bedroom, so we're pretty sensitive to noise levels while in use. We use the scheduling capability to switch to 'cooling' mode with the fan at high speed in the evening, and 'energy save' mode with a higher temp and lower fan speed in the mornings. First off - this unit is QUIET - significantly quieter than the 'traditional' window air conditioner we used before. One can barely hear it running, and thanks to the inverter design, the compressor doesn't so much 'kick on' as 'ease on' - and it only runs as 'hard' as needed to achieve the desired cooling. This means that once it's maintaining temperature, the unit makes very little noise (and even when cooling the room down, is still substantially quieter than other window units). Second - this thing sips electricity. One-three kWh per day, according to its app, so less than a dollar a day to run it, even in NY. Third - flexible scheduling capability thru the WiFi app - lets you switch cooling mode/temperature/fan speed, and doesn't just limit you to morning/evening. Fourth - this is very large and very heavy for a 6000BTU unit - closer in size/weight to a 10000 BTU unit I had in the past. Make sure to measure your window opening to ensure it'll actually fit, and get someone to help you lift it into the window. Fifth - more a limitation of the phone app than the A/C, but would be great to have geofencing capability, so you didn't have to manually turn the scheduling on/off when you're not home. Sixth - it's substantially more expensive than other 6000BTU A/C units, and while it uses less electricity, the financial case is weak. Energy Guide predicts $32 for a summer, vs $53 for a non-inverter A/C unit, so only a $20/yr savings - giving you a payout of 9-10 years from energy savings (at $0.13/kWh - in NY we pay closer to $0.25, so our payoff is more like 5-6 years).

I bought this for a bedroom window to be used for outages and E. emergencies. It's extremely energy efficient and can be powered by generator or solar generator in a pinch. It has no startup spike at all, so it's perfect for that purpose.

Air conditioner works great, but it’s really big, make sure you have proper window mounts for this one.
