The remote is simple to operate and, unlike a number of remotes you find, it's easy to replace the batteries. I originally purchased a cheaper LG model, It was small but the remote was atrocious and some of the functions, like the slideshow feature, were either rudimentary or didn't operate as I wanted. The Sony does everything I want and the picture quality is excellent. I'm happy with the purchase so far.

Great DVD player
