Good sound quality, but has it's flaws

Let's be honest, if you are buying headphones strictly for obtaining the best sound, you probably would not buy wireless headphones. Maybe you would, but in my opinion you are buying wireless headphones for the convenience factor. Nowadays no one wants wires getting in the way. Whether it's casually relaxing and listening to music, or during a workout, you just don't want to get tangled up in cords in wires.
These headphones actually have decent sound for music quality. Like others have stated tho, during phone calls only the left side produces audio which is kind of odd.
These headphones are also NOT good for exercising or quick movements, as they will fall out of your ears. I know the size of people's eardrums vary, and im sure perhaps maybe someone with small ears would have different results, but i do not have small ears, and these did not stay in my ears at all. I gave these a shot during a brisk walk, and while moving my head around they would fall out.
The neck band is nice, and easy to quickly connect the ear buds too for a quick charge. Speaking of charge, it only lasts about 3 hours, which is not that great. Im sure most activities you would use these for won't last longer than 3 hours, but that just means you basically have to charge them after every use which can be a pain.
Overall these are decent, but don't expect them to meet all your expectations.

Wireless Earbuds? Yes Please

The LG Tone Free Bluetooth headphones are an amazing piece of equipment with just a few drawbacks. The feature a neck piece to hold the earpieces when not in use, but unlock many similar headsets, the LG Tone Free headphones are wireless. This adds a lot of comfort when wearing the headphones. Making them great for workouts and shorts hikes (more on battery life later).
The Tone Free headphones have an excellent 33 ft. wireless range. Your typical user will not need that amount of distance, as they will typically have their phone or MP3 player on them. The Bluetooth signal is good enough that I haven’t had any loss of signal while using them at the gym.
The battery life on the headphones is around 3 hours of use, or 82 hours in standby mode. The battery life is perfect for casual use, but wouldn’t work well as a primary headset for someone who is on the phone all day. It also means that if you have longer workouts, the headphones will be much closer to needing a charge when done. For those who go on long hikes and listen to music, this battery life will probably not suffice, but I would recommend wired headphones if that is your need.
The music quality is excellent considering these are just earbuds and not full, over-the-ear headphones. I enjoyed good highs and lows, and generally found the music playback to be great.
The only real downside of these headphones is that when using them for calls, only one of the headphones works. Having stereo sound for calls would have been a nice added feature.

Some Glaring Issues, But Still Functional

I only kept this headset for 24 hours before returning it to the store. Within that time, I went through 3 recharge cycles due to me constantly using the ear buds throughout the day.
Pros:
-No cords between the two buds
-Longer battery life vs the Sam Gear IconX
-Easy to pair to your device(s)
-Neckband doubles as storage and battery pack to charge the buds
I was really looking for something to rival the Samsung IconX and Apple AirPods. This seemed like a nice in-between headset for my needs. Since I jog, I am happy to report that I did not have any trouble keeping both buds in. I understand that not everyone will experience this and packaging only comes with one other size set.
Battery life could have been much better, but it is expected to not outlast the tethered bluetooth headsets like the LG HBS-900 series. It is definitely better than the IconX in just one ear bud charge. Once battery is almost drained, you can just pop them in the neckband and a light blinks to let you know they are charging. Neckband offered one and a half additional charges to what seemed to be a 3 hour charge when the ear bud battery was full. It is a little annoying to have to place them back in the neckband if you're used to a 10 hour charge, but I think this is still a great option for people on the go AND wanting a truly wireless experience.
Cons:
-Battery life doesn't stack up against standard bluetooth headsets
-Operating the Skip/Pause feature on the left bud can cause ear discomfort over time
-Volume quality is poor for music and calls
-Microphone range is poor and muffled for the user on the other end
-Design is a little bulky for my tastes
I don't think I need to go into specifics with this list. The only other thing I wanted to point out is that I was not able to get the right ear bud to play music when it was synced to my devices. I tried looking online for a solution, but couldn't find anything. It is likely just a defect, but I did want to make sure and mention it here.
Conclusion:
We will see more and more of these types of "truly wireless" headsets hit the market in the next few years. If LG wants a piece of that market, they'll need to make some improvements to their existing prototype. Until then, I think a lot of new adopters will just "wait and see".

The LG Tone Free headset was something I was looking forward to due to its unique "truly wireless" concept. The working parts are just two small earpieces - no strings attached whatsoever. There's still the neckband that’s a design feature for all LG Tone headsets, but for Tone Free, it acts like a storage point and battery pack.
All this sounds nice and interesting, until you come to the actual "sound" part. There's absolutely no bass. I'm not sure what kind of consumers they folks in LG were tuning these headphones for - obviously not for people who listen to music. I listen to a lot of genre and I was couldn't find any song that sounded even decent. And if you prefer rock/metal/pop, the sound sometimes feel like torture. I'm in no way comparing these to any audiophile/prosumer headphones, but you know there's something wrong with these ~$199 headphones when even the $10 wired headphones sound vastly superior compared to these. The only thing that’s bearable is voice: calls were very good and crisp, and also podcasts were enjoyable. However, music during podcasts will remind you time and again that these sounds trashy.
In essence, if you don't want to sacrifice $199 or so, don't buy these.

Good Wireless Ear Buds

I was looking for ear buds to replace a wired set that I had and use for exercising. These looked to be innovative in their design, were small, and re-charged quickly.
The first pair of these that I received did not work though. I could only get sound out of the left ear bud. The right bud worked, but would not pair with my phone. LG Support was quick and responsive and sent me a second pair to try.
The second pair worked with no issue. The sound is good for a wireless set of ear buds and is convenient to use. The sound is not spectacular for music, and lacks bass. Overall though, they are still useful and I plan to use them regularly.
Other notes... the usage time isabout 3 hours, which is not terribly long, so I don't think I'll be taking these on trans-atlantic flights. You can re-charge these in the neck band, but then I'm not using them during that time.
Call quality is good and people could hear me just fine using these.
Overall, I will be using these for everyday exercise in the park and for taking the occasional conference call. For longer periods of use, such as long flights or travel, I will likely keep using my wired ear buds or over the ear headphones. I was hoping to replace a set of older head phones that I had, but it looks like I will need to keep them around.

Hard to believe I actually loved these little monsters. I have tried quite a few different sets of headphones ranging from Beats to Sony to few others but this was the first time I tried LG headphones and am surprised how great they work. The ear buds themselves are very comfortable and not as awkward as they may look. The mic does a good job too. Getting the buds out of box was bit of a pain but everything after that is a piece of cake. Pairing was easy and smooth. No rocket science there. I downloaded LG app on my iPhone which lets you do things far more than you would imagine. There are some compatibility issues at times. That's the reason I took 1 star off the rating. Other than that, it's a must have accessory. Sound is great, headphones themselves are lightweight, very comfortable to wear and battery life is also amazing.

The whole point of truly wireless earbuds is to not have something hanging around your neck while using them. That makes the idea of charging them in a neck-shaped holder inconvenient at best and self-defeating at worst. You don't have to keep the charger around your neck, but then it's an awkward shape to put in a travel bag or even leave on a desktop. I understand that in some situations, the neck-charger provides additional vibrating notifications, but that's not worth the hassle. On top of that intrinsic design flaw, the ear buds themselves don't work that great. One of the primary use cases I wanted them for was to listen to my TV while working out. I have another pair of wired bluetooth earbuds that always seem to work themselves around to one side of my neck. I thought the completely wireless solution would alleviate that issue, but these would not work with my Samsung TV. I got them to pair, but the sound kept cutting out and switching back and forth between the two earbuds. Unusable in that scenario. They worked reasonably well with my iPhone, but the sound quality was tinny. There was a distinct lack of bass, especially for buds that fit inside the ear. If you only ever plan to use these with a phone, and you don't care that much about the quality of the sound, but you want something hanging around your neck all the time, then these are the earbuds for you.

These earbuds are truly wireless, without even the thin, lightweight tether of other LG Tone models. I have kind of small ear holes but the buds that come with this fit well. I wouldn't use these during, for instance, running or gardening because if they fall out they could easily get lost. They store securely in the neckband though, so for that reason I'd wear the neckband whenever I use these buds.
I don't need them for phone calls fortunately, because that is where the performance falls off. Otherwise, pairing success (so far) and sound quality is good enough for my purposes.
Favorite thing: no cords to tickle my neck, and neckband is lightweight and fits me well
Least favorite thing: I wish there were volume controls on this product.
I would recommend this product with strong caveats.

The concept of having wireless earbuds is great, but the design and comfort needs some tweaking. The wireless earbuds have a square shape to them, and does not fit comfortably in the ear. They hand out of your ear, as though they are about to fall off. The sound quality isn't the best either. The sound is very thin, with very little bass.

I've not been a headphone/headset person for music, because I prefer the sound of a high end speaker. I typically use headphones/headsets for phone long phone calls/phone conferences.
The problem with headsets/headphones is that the darn cord. And these headphones remove that obstacle. And they provide a very cool way of doing this with a headset band, or using them as earbuds without the band.
So, I charged them up and gave them a go. I was a bit disappointed because they sounded faint. So, I then read the directions and found they have a download available to increase the volume and other settings. You have to download the app to get decent sound out of these. I don't know why, but it seems without the app the phone is limiting the volume.
So, once the app is downloaded, the sound is good - not great, but good. And the mic works great too. I've been very happy with them and may use them for music whereas I wasn't doing that before, because they are cord free. They are small, light, and give you the option to put them in the headset band, which is really smart!
So, if you are setting your expectations properly, you'll be pleased. But if you expect high end audio from wireless bluetooth earbuds, I'd suggest your expectations may leave you a bit disappointed.
These come in a box that is a beautiful presentation box, suitable for gift giving with just a small amount of wrapping paper.

Undeniably one of the worst LG headphones released to date. They sound really bad (staticy, high in mids), unbelievably difficult to pair with MacOS, and have no functionality on the neckband except to power on and charge the buds. They will hurt your ears after prolonged use, and they fall out easily. The noise cancellation is bad!
Please bring back the HBS 1100 and make them actually work for more than 6 months! I love LG (all my family have LG phones and TVs), but will have to look elsewhere for headphones.

The LG Tone Free HSB-F110 Wireless In-Each Headphones just miss the mark in today’s wireless world. In many ways they have a lot to offer. They are lite and although they only provide two silicone tips to chose from the ones installed fit me well and are comfortable. The ear controls support pause and song skip. Volume control will be managed from the device you're connected too. The build quality of the neck piece is much better the any of the other Tone Fee Headphones I own. And not being tied to any wires is really nice. It is easy to forget they are even in your ears. I listen to a lot of music and if you play these at a low volume they have a clean sound. But don’t push then or you're in for a big disappointment. The sound just falls apart into a distorted mess. I normally play FLAC files so it’s not the music files that cause this. And my Samsung S8 uses the Bluetooth 5.0 standard and can sound very good on other Bluetooth headphones I have. These just can’t handle any volume and that’s to bad. There is an almost a total absence of low and mid base and the highs just don't go far.
They would have been a nice headset for the office. The calling features are nice and I never had a complaint from the other person I was talking to. To answer the call is by voice command and that is true for the call ending. Being able to dock the in-ear speakers to the neck band is simple and can easily give you all day use with some charging time in between. It’s hard to find the perfect combination of great sound and the other features these have all in one. But I am sorry I cannot give them a thumbs up. If you value convenience over sound then these might be worth a look. But with Apple dropping the headphone jack the market for Bluetooth headphones is getting very competitive. My recommendation is unless you never turn your sound up beyond ambient sound levels maybe these can be OK. But don’t purchase these if sound quality is anywhere near your top priority or you are in for a big disappointment.

The LG HBS-F110 wireless headphones create a fantastic audio experience. The neckband is really comfortable and the vibration function is really nice for notifications that come in while your phone is on silent or in your pocket where you can't feel it.
Voice commands are easy to use and create a next generation user experience as you no longer have to search for a button or reach for your phone to answer/ignore a call. I simply use the voice commands to ignore the call, and continue with my workout/activity while listening to my music.
The earbuds fit comfortably in my ears, and even after prolonged use I don't feel like the buds are causing discomfort. A huge plus is that the earbuds stay in place while running/exercising, which is something I do regularly.
Audio is extremely clear. Music is crisp and clear, even while on the go. Phone calls are amazing. Callers can hear me without any distortion and I can hear them clearly as well.
The wireless range is pretty impressive as well. I can leave my phone on the desk in my office and walk a few hundred feet away to another room without any noticeable signal degradation.
I would recommend to anyone looking for a high quality wireless headset with phenomenal features.

I must admit, going in, I was wary of these headphones. I am generally not a fan of Bluetooth audio and I really am not bothered by wires. After some extended use with these, I left with some positive thoughts as well as some negative.
Included in the packaging, which is straight forward and done well, are the earbuds themselves, a neckband, a micro USB charging cable, an extra set of ear gels (small), user manual and warranty card. Everything is well-built and feels nice in the hand. There is some quality here.
After taking about an hour or so to charge them fully for the first time, I found the pairing process to be quite simple. Once paired, well, this is where my experience began to take a turn for the worse. When it comes to headphones that fit into your ears, how they fit is going to go a long way to determining your overall experience. For me, they "fit," but not quite perfectly, and when I did anything somewhat active, they became lose and ruined the seamless experience I was hoping for. Further, without that perfect fit, the sound, which I did find to be "just OK" degraded somewhat when the headphones did not have that perfect seal. Now, for phone calls the audio was clear (although it only uses the left earbud while in calls) and wasn't much of an issue, but for music it just was not as good as I am looking for from my headphones. If you are not that particular, or you are just an audio book or podcast listener, these could definitely be for you.
I should touch upon the fact these are, well, wireless. With these, you trade wires for a neckband that serves as a battery for charging as well as storage for the headphones when not in use. The neck band has a nice look and contain the mini-USB port that is needed to charge the earbuds. The earbuds are rated for 3 hours of use per charge, and I found that to be quite accurate. It would be nice if that was a little bit longer, but I can't really think of a time where I needed them for a task that was even that long. Just a tradeoff you must live with for the convenience of being wireless.
I don't know, ultimately, I didn't have the best experience with this set of headphones, somewhat of a mixed bag, but some of that was because of fit (which certainly will not be an issue for all), and that I really look for superior audio quality when listening to music. While the sound quality did not fit my requirement, I think many would be very pleased with the sound for their music. Further, I think use case is also something to think about. While I was mainly looking to use these for music, those looking for other audio uses will have no issue. Lastly, many looking at these are probably looking for the convenience of having a wireless system, and ridding themselves of wires...and I found they did that well.

I liked the fact that they are wireless but that's the thing I didn't like about them. The ear buds would not stay in my ears. It needed a ear hook. Also, for the price they removed a lot of features that the Platinum ones offer, like having the ability to skip/ play back songs and adjust the volume one the Bluetooth set itself. My husband would say out sounded like I was speaking into a cup. So I had to return them. But I really wanted to like them.

I've had a while to test the LG Tone-Free, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I've only paired it with my phone, but I think this is what almost anyone and everyone would do. I've also accessed more features with the Tone & Talk app, making this an even better product. With that said, let's get started!
To start off, the Tone Free neckband is what you'll be wearing during use. You don't have to wear it, as whatever device you're connected to actually communicates through the left earbud, but the ability to store your true wireless earbuds when you're not using them means the neckband shouldn't be out of reach. The band is sleek and has a low-profile largely due to its matte exterior. Most neckbands I've seen are glossy and shine—this also means I've seen tons of smudges on neckbands that others wear. If you don't want to attract attention by way of your neckband, the matte finish achieves that. But for those that might notice, it looks stylish. For someone who once thought wireless earbuds looked silly, the LG Tone Free is something I don't mind wearing.
As for the earbuds themselves, as mentioned earlier, these guys are real wireless; they detach from the neckband by the press of the separating button, and you've got no tangles to worry about. Ever. And with two different-size ear gels, you're more than likely to have a perfect fit when you wear them. When properly stored, you're less likely to misplace or lose the earbuds, as they snap back into the ends of the neckband, safe and secure. Docking them is extremely easy and can be done without looking. This is also how they'll charge, since the charging port is located on the side of the neckband.
The left earbud is the real star here: it communicates with whatever device it's connected with, and holds all the true functions you need. It'll send the incoming signal on to the sub earbud, too. The multi-function button is how you'll play or pause music, or accept or end calls. The batteries, which both earbuds have, last a long while. Though the box says they have a music-listening / talk time of 3 hours, and a standby time of 7-8 days, I feel like it's a lot longer than that. I've only charged them twice, and they go for an astonishing amount of time. But being a Bluetooth device, having a multi-function button, and containing a battery all mean the earbud is going to be a little bulky. Still, it doesn't look bad when worn, a steady balance of function and form. And it's not too noticeable either. It's not as low-profile as a wired earbud, but it's also not the size of some larger Bluetooth headsets which may be more about function than form.
The LG Tone Free itself is great. But it can be greater just by downloading the Tone & Talk app on your phone. Once you've done this, you've turned the neckband into an expanded notification device. Normally the neckband will vibrate when receiving an incoming call. With the Tone & Talk app, you can tell it to vibrate on receiving a notification from any app! You choose the apps, and it will vibrate when you get a notification. You can set the vibration frequency as well. But the app doesn't stop there. Say you're listening to a song, and you get an incoming call from your girlfriend. You know it's her because you've set up voice notifications to read incoming notifications from the Phone app, and you hear "Future Wifey Purple Heart Purple Heart." But you're driving. You know she expects you to answer no matter what. Instead of reaching for your phone snug in your pocket and swerving into another lane of traffic, you simply say "Answer", which connects you. Crisis averted, all because you installed the Tone & Talk app for this very reason. Likely scenario aside, sound initially doesn't come through as audible as you might first expect, but the app allows you to control that. I'd suggest downloading it for this reason alone. I've boosted the volume up to max, and sound comes through great. There are other minor features within the Tone & Talk app, but the focus of this review is the LG Tone Free.
I like to take my LG Tone Free out with me every chance I get, and I sometimes use it at home. It's extremely useful, and I love being hands-free from my phone whenever possible. If you're not prone to losing things and like to keep your hands free for other tasks, I'd recommend this product without any hesitation.

I bought these wireless earbuds yesterday for the convenience of not having wires. I work in a somewhat noisy atmosphere and although the quality of sound of these earbuds are good the volume is pitiful. Even with the phone volume on full in a noisy background it's hard to hear. When talking on the phone you only have sound coming from one earbud. The headset itself does not have a volume up and down button.

The unit is the worst design I have had. The button to answer/hang up is in the middle of both ear buttons. The ear buds fall out of your ear constantly because of their size and weight. When they become loose and you push them back, you hang up on conversations. The phone conversations are only are in the left ear piece, music play both ear pieces. People on the other end say they can't understand me. I received these from LG as a "free" upgrade because my HBS-1100BK quit one month after purchasing them. When I called customer service to express my dissatisfaction with the HBS-F110. Their answer was basically "too bad". They will not replace the horribly designed unit they sent me. Absolutely horrible customer service and products. This was my 4th LG headset. The first 3, an ear piece quit within the first year. Each one was replaced under warranty. Each of those had the same problem. I'm done with LG.

These Bluetooth headphones have excellent sound quality. They were super easy to set up and pair to my phone. The ear buds themselves are comfortable and fit perfect. The neck band isn't too bulky or heavy. The only downside is the battery life - after a full charge these only last a few hours. One trick I found is to use only one ear bud at a time. Once the first one dies you can start using the second one as long as it's been left in the neck band. This can actually double the battery life.
I've had several pairs of Bluetooth headphones and these are by far the best. Very well made and definitely the greatest sound quality that I've experienced yet.

Wireless earbuds that actually work

Just got these guys right as they came into the store, and so far i am very impressed. The neckband sits nicely around the neck and slight bulges at the end so I can tell it wont slip off to one direction like past Tones have done, and has been and issue for me before. This is a much better design than the previous models, as the neckband is light and feels actually better constructed than say, the Tone Platinum's.
So far, we are assuming to look at the headset as if it was no different than past Tones, but just new... however that is not the case! The earbuds in these guys are now fully wireless and its awesome. They fit great and are super light and not at all bulky or obtrusive like i was sure they were going to be from the pictures, so i am very impressed the with the earbuds. Battery life is still kicking so far on five hours of use and the little woman in your ear is still telling me the headset is at medium battery!
So, fit and finish is great, and the wireless earbuds are more comfortable and usable than say, the Apple Airpods, or Gear IconX (more similar to the IconX though) so hows the, oh i don't know, audio quality??
Well, I am pleasantly surprised here. Audio quality is sharp and all around pleasant, with good solid clear bass, wide mids, and sharp, precise highs, that leave you with a sense that you are using upper scale wired headphones... a feeling that i have not received from Bluetooth earphones in a while. One note here on the audio quality... the bass is very clear and responsive and packs the punch that it should to be very realistic... however, if you are they type of person that just runs out and buys the latest Beats because everyone else you know has them, and has become accustomed to their extremely poor bass reconstruction that is "Loud" or "thumping" please keep in mind that that kind of loud thumping bass is actually not what someone who cares about audio quality looks for, and these do not provide that. They have a nice thud when needed, but are not going to stop the old guys next to you's pacemaker... these are accurate, not "loud" or "thumping."
Tl;Dr
These headphones provide fantastic all around sound, are comfortable and lightweight, great battery life, and the wireless earbuds are the first set that i have used that actually work as you would hope they would, and don't need some silly box to charge them and don't make you look like a dork with "Airpod sideburns."
Wonderful headphones so far, I definitely recommend.
