This is my second purchase of a Lifeproof fre for my iPhone 5. The first one started to deteriorate, losing some rubber around edges. I'm pretty hard on my phone at work - it goes in & out of my jeans pocket all day long, so I'm not surprised the case wore down after about a year of use. it's still my favorite for slim profile and confidence in & around rain situations. Also, despite dropping my phone frequently, I've never cracked my screen. And now I have an extra one of those annoying aux jack adapters to keep in my car.

Overall I'm fairly satisfied with the case, but there are some 'flaws' I wish were better. Pros: - It definitely feels like it protects the phone from drops, water, dust, etc, as advertised. Once clipped on it went on snug and tight. There is a slight bump/separation/raised part by the front camera which is slightly unnerving, but it doesn't appear to affect the function of the camera yet as I've seen. - The design is attractive for something so protective, so I appreciate that aspect. Some of the other cases in this category (otter box, etc) are really bulky seeming. Probably tougher, but really, who is throwing their phone under a car. Cons: - Even though it's minimal for an overall protective case, there is an odd shape to the design that makes it feel awkwardly 'big' in your hands. The outer edge is beveled/raised. I hadn't noticed it when I first tried the phone, but after a day of use and typing messages / using the phone with one hand, noticed the strain. With 2 hands, no problem. 1 medium sized hand, not ideal. - Occasionally noticed some sound distortion from the speaker during a phone call. It's not consistent yet, so only pointing out for now as a possible concern to pay attention for. I've not tested this thing submerged in water yet, but I'm sure my toddler will for me soon.

It is very light-weight and doesn't get caught on my pocket as I drop it in and pull it out. Other cases were very bulky, while this one is very compact, but offers the same level of protection. Being water-proof is an added benefit. The screen seems to be relatively scratch proof, but time will tell on that one. Its easy to flip the little door open and plug in the charger.

Well the sound is muffled, the screw where the head phones are going has sharp edges and it is cutting into your fingers when you hold the phone, and the ringer / silent switch it's very hard to push. In fact because of this last problem I had to exchange one case for another. If you can get over these stupid design flaws you'll like the rest of it. It really is waterproof and lightly rugged and the camera still takes nice shots with the case on. Overall good case and nothing else on the market is better.

I bought this case for my son who seemed to still get dirt and water inside the Otterbox case he previously had. This one does a good job of protecting it but its a bit of a pain to use a headphone extension jack and there is a plastic like piece that covers the camera lens. The point is to seal out water and dirt but that extra little piece ends up making the photos a bit cloudy/fuzzy, no matter how I clean it. But since he doesn't take good care of the phone I would rather he have this one.

The case is nice much thinner then the otter box, it's suppose to be waterproof (haven't tested it with phone inside) and empty test was successful screen could be a little more durable seems to get scratched easily (rubbing with finger) and they really need to work on the price at almost $100 and lasts for maybe a year if your lucky almost not worth it unless you can find it on sale

Very happy with both the protection, easy use of buttons, and having everything in a thin package that still fits in my pocket.

This case is lightweight and easy to handle. I like that it is a slimmer case with a screen protector and a very tough exterior.

The LifeProof case works well in protecting phones from impacts and submersion in water. As recommended, I tested my empty case by submerging it overnight; as advertized, the interior remained completely dry. The case has already protected my new phone from a couple of falls. However, the clear screen protector is slightly warped, making typing letters that are on the right side of the keyboard slightly challenging; I need to tap very deliberately where the "bubble" is. Sounds from the speakers are slightly muffled due to the waterproof case covering them; sound is improved by opening the flap for the charging port and by unscrewing the cover for the headphone jack.

Must have the excellent protection it provides from the elements but have had many people complain they cannot hear nor understand me due to muffled microphone. (Some say I sound really far away, others say it sounds like I'm in a bathroom) Also sometimes there's distortion when on speakerphone. Product is a must have to protect this expensive piece of equipment when working outdoors but is WAY too expensive! (And a little bulky, I carry in my pocket)

The Lifeproof case for the iPhone 5s is an amazing protective case. It's super sleek and it doesn't make your phone feel all bulky like other cases out there but with the same amount of protection. The phone's sound quality is not hendered at all. I love the fact that it's also waterproof because I have two toddlers that love spilling liquids on my phone. I love the case and would recommend it to anyone that wants a solid case that really protects your phone but doesn't turn it into a boom box.

This case is easy to install and very lightweight. It has already been tested by me in the ocean and kept my phone dry.

Lifeproof is great slim case. I have used many others for my iPhone 5s, but I always sacrificed the size until the Lifeproof. I like that they upgraded the case by attaching the headphone port cover to the case (so you have less chance of losing it, AND now you can use after market chargers too, not only Apple certified chargers. Been great and even protects against my 10 month old trying to destroy the phone (teething, throwing, dropping). I highly suggest to buy this case.

I have purchased more than one of these cases over the years as the phone models have evolved. There isn't another case out there that does all the things that the lifeproof case can do. It enables you to protect the phone, literally wash the phone, drop it without shattering, and still use the phone's features fully, like the speaker and the camera, without distortion. And it does all this while still remaining thin and easy to carry around. Best phone case out there.

I love Lifeproof cases. They withstand drops and moisture (I am not brave enough to immerse in water but I certainly answer my phone in the shower.) The case is not bulky; fits the phone like a glove it has built in screen protector and it comes in a variety of colors. The only downside is the rubber around the face peels over time. I replace about once a year but it's worth every penny. if you are pretty gentle with your phone you will get longer use.

I find these covers great! If you are ok with not worrying about style but exceptional protection for your phone this is it! I have convinced my whole family to protect their iPhones with Lifeproof. My dad is a postman and he throws his phone around everywhere and this cover has never faltered. I love that you can take pics near or in water. Helps when you are also a swimmer or even a cook that gets flour on the phone and all you need to do is wash it! Great product!

Protects my phone, not bulky, and easy to set up. It recommend it

I haven't read the other reviews, so I'm not sure how others looked at it. I bought it because I needed something for the outdoors. Not something that would fall off a desk, but something that could protect a $800 investment as I rode reckless thru the woods on a mountain bike or streamlined on a road bike...and it took a nose dive at speed. It did and it has. Is it pricey? Sure, think of it, yer paying about 10% of the buying price...who cares?!?! If yer insane enough to pay that much for a phone, might as well protect it properly! I took it under water to about 2 ft, it held. I never really needed it for water, I have a GoPro Hero3 for that. I like the case comes with the special cord that keeps it watertight. Also the screen works great! None of those oily smudge things you usually get. Only issue, and you really can't avoid it is Suri can have issues hearing you properly. Sometimes no issues, sometimes I wanna ring her neck.

Product provides the safety and is good for my kids, but the front cover would annoying me because it does not sit flush. Additionally the opening at the bottom for headphones and charger is small. They give you an extension for the headphone jack which is nice, but some of my car chargers won't work on it
