After a week of heavy use, I have decided to take this thing back. I have had more issues with the connectivity dropping out than I ever did with another brand. In my opinion, its simply not worth the price. Aesthetically, its appealing, but that about as far as it goes for me.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS ROUTER

This is my 2nd review of WRT32X. I gave it a "5-star" rating and praised in my former review which I posted after using it for a few weeks. However, recently Linksys pushed a firware update that effectively broke the Wi-Fi connections, and even after several weeks no solution has been posted (check Linksys forums and Twitter for more information).
At this point, STAY AWAY FROM THIS ROUTER until they sort everything out, unless you want a $200 switch or a piece of brick.

Great physical size, but performance wise, it lacks constant connectivity. For a house of five people with about 2 - 4 devices per person, this router does not do too well. Since the first hour, it has consistently dropped both Wi-Fi bands, allowing only 2 minutes of connection at a time wirelessly. Not to mention the poor User Interface.
The UI is huge CON for me. It can lack lots of useful settings that other Linksys and other brands of routers have. It took me at least an hour to figure out how to split each band instead of a joined band that the router auto assigns the band type per device.
Unfortunately, I cannot say i could recommend this to a friend or a co-worker.

Replaced a Netgear NightHawk R7000 which had excellent performance on downloads and uploads, and excellent performance with entire family, extended family, and friends connected to the WAP. Never had issues until it was time to replace the router. Current internet connection is 1G.
Comparing the R7000 with the Linksys WRT32X. The honest truth... There's no comparison. The WRT32X performance was slow at times and Internet speed test ranged from 900mb to 97mb. (never consistent) I've had several routers in the past, and this is the worst.

I was extremely hesitant to shell out almost $200 for this router. But after reaching the point of potentially canceling my cable service with what did eventually turn out to be a poor router, I decided to give it the 2 week test. I will never return this and I will never hesitate again. This is my 3rd WRT I have had and this one is the best yet. Wow.

Ping was lowered by at least 50% ... amazing wifi speed. It is as fast as when lan is hooked up. I use it with a Killer NIC supplied Alienware PC and it really is a great gaming combo. It's also very easy to hook up. Oh, and you can really talk to customer support if you need to.

Where did my wifi speed go!

I bout=ght this router for two reason. Linksys brand name and the fact that it was advertised as DDWRT ready. My aging linksys router finally bit the big one during a firmware update. ( I should have realized the update was no good by reading the poor grammar of the directions.) I was excited to bring this new router home and hoped that it would smoke the old router in speed. WOW was I disappointed. Wifi drops frequently, Facebook and email pages load so SLLLOOOOWWW! However the in house transfers are very fast. Contacted tech support. They seem to have a knack of calling when I am in the bathroom, getting into my vehicle, or any other inappropriate time to talk. I run 2 routers one the WRT32X and an older ea4500 in bridge mode. I have tried every possible combination with these 2 routers and over the internet. the EA4500 blows this shiny hockey puck away. OH and by the way last I checked it is still not DD WRT compatible.

Good router but with many issues

I purchased this product 8 days ago. It works decently, was easy to setup, but I have a Gigabit connection and with this router, I am only getting 300 Mbps max. The biggest advertised feature on the box, the "Killer Prioritization Engine" does not work at all. My computer has a Killer network card, has the Killer engine installed and running, and this router does not pick it up at all no matter how many times i uninstall and reinstall, reset the router or computer. It is a decent router, but it is not worth the price that you pay for it, simply because it barely works.

When I first got it, it was great. No connectivity problems etc. Then an update happens and everything just goes down the drain. The wifi drops constantly. I even tried to change the settings of what was recommended (channels, security, etc.) nothing works. And it looks like the problem is common. Which is terrible for a $300 router. Complete waste of money and a huge disappointment.

I purchased this router to basically prioritize my Xbox one X traffic. I have the xbox hard wired, and while it does not have a Killer enabled NIC this router gives you the ability to still place it at the highest priority. Or so I thought..
Every time I move the Xbox One X to the highest priority the firmware automatically moves it back to normal priority. I can move ANY other device to the highest priority, just not my gaming console.
Here is where it gets interesting, while researching the issue I seen that Linksys announces the WRT32XB, specifically enhanced for Xbox One gamers and prioritizing Xbox traffic.. It is due to be released in February... It couldn't be that we wrote it into our firmware code to minimize Xbox priority to sell our new router would it? I think so, and I am pretty livid about it. Below is the link if anyone questions my findings.. I don't think it's a coincidence that their firmware lowers the priority on Xbox automatically within weeks of announcing a new router for Xbox.

Hi, ITGuy84,
It's not right that the current firmware of your WRT32x Router is causing your Xbox One to move back to normal priority when setting it to high. Please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can tap one of our Escalation Engineers to work closely with you in sorting this out.
