Little Witch Nobeta captured my attention when i saw a trailer for it on Youtube before it launched and let me tell you it really caught me by surprise! First off I am a huge anime fan and not only is Nobeta a anime witch but she is an adorable anime witch who ends up meeting an equally adorable cat. The story itself is kinda bare bones but it does exist and you get some interesting scenes and dialogue from time to time, but the real heart of this game is the gameplay itself and the music. The gameplay is a third person souls like action game with some fairly light rpg elements that serve a small role in terms of stats and the like. Nobeta learns some pretty fun to use spells and does have physical attacks as well with her staff. She can dodge which can be a bit clunky at times during boss fights as you manage the camera but thankfully you can lock on to enemies, but it is easy to lose track of them at times during more intense battles. The game takes place in a giant castle as Nobeta is on a quest to find the king of the castle. And as you are tasked to navigate this castle,it can be a bit tricky because THERE IS NO MAP!!! So you either A. Memorize the layout of each area because you will have to back track at times when you get a useful item or spell, or B.Draw one out. It is fairly easy to get lost but it is part of the fun,if you are into that kind of thing. The game really has some very fun and creative boss battles too which is where the game shines and the designs of the creatures and bosses are pretty cool too. All in all, the game is definitely worth looking into if you are interested so check it out!
