The logitech software for this mouse is great. The buttons, adjustable dpi, and weight is excellent. Also, if having colorful lights is what you are looking for, this has many different combinations.

Pros: Lot's of features Good software Smooth action Wheel can be smooth or notched, and can be changed on the fly Cons: I don't use like 5 of the buttons LED is blue only. I have a lot of red peripherals Other notes: It's actually a pretty small mouse, which is great for me; I have pretty small hands. Might want to be aware if you have larger hands.

This mouse is great, fairly light but sturdy and includes weights to get it just right for you. Adjustable dpi on the fly, sniper button, all the essentials of a quality gaming mouse at a reasonable price.

    Best mouse I've used

History: I started using gaming mice in 2010 with a Razer Naga for playing World of Warcraft. I got a Razer Orochi for use on-the-go. The Naga broke, and was replaced with a G600. I stopped playing MMOs and that wasn't working well for other games, so I bought this G502 a few months ago, and recently a G700s for work, which I have tried for games too. The G502 is the best balance of comfort, extra buttons, quality, and reliability I have seen. The buttons always work, the sensor matches my movements the way I want it to. Multiple profiles work wonderfully. The Logitech Gaming software does it's job. The cable is nice braided nylon, or some other fabric, that helps it be a bit more flexible and not tangle as easily as normal rubber. The included weights are a nice touch to get it just the way you want it. The only con this mouse really has relates to the scrolling. The top middle button toggles between smooth scrolling and notched. This notched scrolling is a bit rough and loud, while smooth scrolling has so little resistance you can trigger it just by moving the mouse quickly. But it is easy enough to switch between the two that it isn't too big of an issue in an otherwise amazing mouse.

My old mouse, also a G502, recently got damaged and I refused to get anything else but the same mouse. I absolutely love the thumb rest. It has plenty of buttons but not an overwhelming amount. It's RGB programmable and I recently discovered you an also program to light up like an audio visualizer, which impressed me so much. The unlockable scroll wheel is incredibly helpful and I also love the DPI profiles. The weights came in a small plastic carrying case which I found quaint and handy. Overall, this is an amazing mouse that is great for people on a budget. Honestly, even if I had more money, I would only buy this mouse.

Was looking for an upgrade from my older wireless mouse, wanted something with a cable (no more batteries going dead mid game), as well as something that was comfortable and high or adjustable DPI settings. Found this same mouse online for the same price with good reviews, and found it in store and jumped on it. The ability to add weights to customize the weight is nice, and the ability to fine tune the dpi for exactly where you want, as well as increase or decrease it on the fly is great! I also like that there’s a button to hold to drop your dpi down for those fine tuned moments, then release and your back to where you were before. I only wish I would’ve found this mouse sooner

I was very tempted to replace my old Cyborg R.A.T. 7 with another one, but after reading some reviews, and playing with the Logitech Proteus Core in store, I made a leap of faith. What a leap, this thing is awesome!

Good feel, nice weight, easy to install. For me, leds aren't important and cycling colors can be distracting. Don't see much improvement over older G502 but still an excellent mouse at a competitive price.

Overall great mouse, the programmable buttons are in convenient locations, the lights are subtle, but still there. The fact that you can change the weight can really improve your computer experience.

Logitech known for their superior reliability has struck again with the G502. This replaces my equally great Logitech G5 mouse. Does everything you need it to do. The gold standard for gaming mice. Has the braided cable, LED lighting effect and the weights you can add to suit your weighted feel.

I like the mouse. My Corsair scimitar that I had for less than a year crapped out. The scroll wheel stopped responding predictably which is apparently a common issue with Corsair nice im general. So never again with that. On to the Logitech. I bought for their well known reliability, it’s solid gaming performance, and because it was something like 35% off. I love it. Best mouse I’ve ever had. I really like the adjustable weights, and their software and especially their drivers are way better than Corsair’s garbage CUE. Seriously, that mouse was awful. It kept disconnecting alllllll the time. Logitech has it going on in a good way. Five stars.

After many debates on which gaming mouse to choose from, I have found the one. I have noticed a dramatic improvement in my game play (counter strike, H1z1, FPS..). This mouse has several buttons so you can hot key certain functions. The mouse also has additional settings to choose from. All in all, a great piece of equipment!

This mouse is just amazing. The customization for button layout and the software used for it work great. You can also update the firmware on the mouse if there are any bugs that ever needed to be patched. I'm running this on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate Edition. This thing has been flawless so far I love Logitech products.

I purchased this mouse a year ago for my husband for Christmas and he liked it so much that buying another was the obvious choice when the mouse in his office broke. The mouse has a great hand feel and is comfortable for many hand sizes, whether you have a husband or child sized hand, as well as everything in between. The mouse is perfect for gamers with it's numerous programmable buttons or just to be used in one's office for mundane tasks. The ability to add or redact weight enables the user to customize the mouse to fit their comfort. Terrific product, I'll be buying another one for my oldest son for Christmas.

The only thing that's started to wear is the ratchet for the scroll wheel, which usually starts out stiff anyway. Download the utility and reprogram the buttons and sensitivity. Only thing I couldn't do was program the buttons to combine keyboard and mouse commands, i.e. I couldn't make a left click + A in one button.

I use this mouse for playing games like CS:GO. I have found no problems with it what so ever. I like the feel of this mouse a lot. Is it slightly heavier than some other mice, but that isn't an issue to me.

I've used wireless mice for 4 years and had a buddy swear by wired mice. Gave this one a try, and its wonderful! For gamers, there is definitely a noticeable difference with the wired as there is no lag. A few microseconds might seem insignificant, but this mouse is great! Good price too, and Logitech - so buy one!
