Don't fall in to the trap that I did on this and make sure you read the whole details. I only read part of them and based on the title assumed it was a universal remote. I'm not sure why they list this they way they do because NO WHERE on the box does it say it's anything that closely matches the title. In fact, the box CLEARLY states that it's an add-on remote. If you look at how AMAZON lists the device, they clearly state what the device is in the title. I brought this to the attention of Best Buy Customer Care and they just wanted to argue with me that it stated it in the description. C'mon Best Buy, get your act together and change the title of this product listing to match with it says it is on the box! But, shame on me for not reading the full description and reviews.

You MUST own or buy the "SmartHub" to use this product. It's not mentioned until halfway down the information segment of the product page. If you're like me you might read the first few sentences and decide it's perfect, and cheap, so you pull the trigger on a purchase only to realize once it's been shipped that you have to buy/own another piece of equipment. My fault, certainly, but it seems reasonable to have this important info at the BEGINNING of the product information.

Tis remote works only with the Harmony Hub that receives IR and then uses IR blasters to send the signal to the devices you and to control. You cannot turn on your TV using IR and then use RF to control a hidden hub (or the hidden equipment). This makes the remote very limited as far as usability and an item you would not want to use unless you were willing to place the large hub with its verso cables, or an IR blacker with its cable, in from of you TV's IR receiver. The remote is almost useless other than the fact that it has very good range.

Don't forget you need a hub with this product. It works perfectly with my entertainment system that includes and xbox one s and Atmos receiver.

This was purchased as a replacement to the original purchased with Harmony's smart control package, as mine suddenly stopped working.

recently purchased a smart control hub. Quickly discovered that due to the "logic" of the control that remembers the state of a device, use of the original remote creates significant problems. For example if your spouse turns on the TV with the original remote, the harmony remote cannot turn it off perform any TV functions. As part of the setup process in the app, I saw the selection to add another remote. I purchased this remote as that second remote. Once I completed the setup, the original remote failed to work. After researching, It is clear that you cannot use more than one remote with a hub. If you are looking to be able to use original remote or a second universal remote, Harmony remotes will not work. I will be returning this purchase.
