Lutron is Sleek!

I have a combo of Lutron and Hue products and they are both wonderful in their needed applications. In my living room I have 5 can lights that I've installed Hue (BR30) color spectrum bulbs. In the same room I have two tracks of light behind beams. What I LOVE about Lutron is the ability to still use the dimable halogen bulbs (expensive enough) but have full home automation control. Hue lights are beautiful, I love both offered color spectrums BUT Lutron wall plates, remotes and dimmers are super sleek where Hue controls are "clunky". I'm attaching a living room photo. From my phone or Alexa I have total control over both light styles in my living room. I've also included a photo of how nicely the Lutron dimmers integrated into my existing wall plate, a photo of the Hue and Lutron dimmers side by side AND the home (for now) of my Hue dimmer for the living room...Fridge, its magnetic. I can't imagine the Hue dimmer on my wall but it works great as a way to control the living room lighting in my open floor plan home.

I'm a Home Automation junkie, and lighting control is one of the most basic yet most important parts of an HA system. I've tried almost all the available flavors and brands of devices for lighting control: Zigbee switches and smart bulbs, Z-Wave switches and also Lutron's Caseta line of dimmers and remotes.
By far the Lutron Casetas are the very best for many reasons:
*Reliability:rarely go offline or require re-pairing and reprogramming
*Full dimming control of LED lights
*Built-in LED indicator for dimming level
*Very classy-looking with gradual dimming before shutoff
*Work perfectly with WINK and other HA Hubs (although not supported by SmartThings)
*The Caseta Pico remote solves the problem of easily turning any switch into a 3-way or 4-way dimmer switch
*The Pico remote can be wall-mounted or pedestal mounted for handy availability on coffee tables or nightstands.
*The Pico remotes work even when an HA hub is offline
*The FAVORITE level button is ingenious

Does not need a neutral wire. Easy to replace old-school light switch, even includes the wire nuts. Hard part is fitting the switch and wire leads back into the electrical box. But turn off the power first at the breaker box before replacing the old switch Works great with Siri and Alexa. The scheduling and SmartAway features are great security when no one is home. Replacing five light switches is cheaper and more flexible than replacing existing light bulbs with smart bulbs that may not fit the existing fixtures. The hub works good but you can still turn on the lights with the included remote or the old-fashion way without a Smartphone. Bonus: Sonos speakers can be controlled from within the Lutron app.

I have several of these throughout my home. They work great without needing a neutral wire. Most newer homes have the neutral in the outlet box, but since this dimmer doesn't need it, the wiring is a bit faster.
Lutron Caseta now works with Smartthings, and it seems to work very well most of the time. The integration is cloud to cloud, so there's a bit of a delay (especially if you are trying to use a lutron device as the trigger for other events, it seems the lutron hub takes its time sending the event back to smartthings). If you use something in smartthings to trigger the lutron device to turn on or off the delay is not as noticeable. The Alexa, Google, and Siri integration is responsive as well.

After much review, I recently began switching from Insteon to Lutron. I found Lutron to be more compatable with different ecosystems like Homekit, Comcast, Amazon Alexa, etc. I'm glad I switched. This Lutron setup was easy and it presents itself nice...unlike Philip Hue switches which are odd looking and don't fit in standard switch boxes. This switch allowed me to replace the dining room light. I was also able to use the pico remote to add an additional light switch. I'm looking forward to buying more....

I've installed 10 Caseta in-wall dimmers in my 2-story house. My previous experience with trying to automate lighting in my home involved TCP bulbs. Suffice it to say that I should have listened when someone in a review said that TCP stood for Totally Cr*ppy Product. I also had used Phillips Hue bulbs as well, which worked OK in terms of turning on and off, but buzzed too loudly for my taste. The Caseta dimmers are pretty easy to work. I had them installed by my electrician, but I set them up myself using their app. The only thing that was a little difficult was figuring out where to set up a schedule for the lights. (Hint: Look under Scenes in the app.) I was a little frustrated that the Caseta website was totally useless when it came to explaining how to set up schedules, but I did eventually figure it out thanks to a web review of the product that said it should be under Scenes. The only other thing to point out is that when you're creating a schedule, you have to create two entries: one for turning the light on, one for turning it off. But within that, you're able to set not only when the light comes on and goes off, but the percentage at which it is dimmed, and you can also create schedules based on sunset and sunrise. I also like that I can set icons for different light types (sconce versus light bulb versus outdoor light) and assign lights to groups, but I cannot figure out how to change where a light is assigned if I screwed it up the first time. But that said, it does turn my lights on and off when I tell it to, which is head and shoulders above what those stupid TCP bulbs did.

We live in a house built in the early 90’s, and don’t have neutral wires anywhere. As far as I know, these are the only smart switches that don’t require a neutral wire. I also have a lutron WiFi hub, and all lutron’s interface easily with Amazon Echo units. The lutron remote pico units are great for placing an additional dimmer wherever you want it.
All in all, a great purchase.

We have been slowly replacing all of the switches in our home with these including outdoor lighting. The lutron app makes it simple to schedule lighting inside and out to run any schedule including sunrise to sunset that we use on our porches. They are simple to wire and set up. We use google home and once set up with the lutron hub they operate pretty much flawlessly. We use dimmers with led can lights and led lights in other fixtures. There is no flickering of the lights that we experienced with other dimmers. The dimming is smooth with a very good range of dimming. Having the pico remote to replace the second switch in a room makes wiring even simpler. There are insrtuction videos from lutron. I do recommend getting the pico wall plate bracket when using the pico to replace a second switch in a room, that controls the same light(s)

Easy to install. Don't ever forget to turn off the breaker before I stalling. Other then that I integration with alexa and Google assistant is great. Did I mention the Pico remote that you can mount to the wall and associate the remote to a few of the switches. Also a favorites button on the remote.

This is by far the best dimmer in the smart home set up if you don't mind anther hub. It comes with remotes to control all of the lutron dimmers in the home. Pairs easily to my smartthings hub. I have about six through the house. Very easy to install for the DIY person. Highly recommend!

There are many options out there. We got the Lutron because it’s compatible with the most variety of systems. We have a few of these now, and they work well. It comes with its own remote plus the app gives you control as well. Very convenient to control lighting & dimming. One caveat is that one of our Lutron now flashes the room lights once before turning on. Not sure if it’s a one-off. Otherwise we’ve been happy with the product.

I really like these switches. I have already converted many of the lights in my home to Lutron Caseta. It integrates with the Lutron SmartBridge which is compatible with both my Google Home and my Nest thermostat. Installation could not be any easier. If you have ever installed a light switch before, you can handle this.
The thing I like about these switches is how easy they are to use. My 2 year-old can operate them with no issues. Another cool thing is that the remote can be mounted on the wall inside a wall plate, so it looks just like another switch on the wall. This allows for adding kind of a virtual 3-way switch to existing construction. I've heard of people mounting them in places that they can't run wires, like a wood post or a cement wall.
I would highly recommend these to anybody looking to get started with smart lighting. I'll be buying more of these as I get around to replacing regular switches.

I love the product and wanted to give a 5 star review. But only 99% of the time everything works perfectly! I give it 4.9 stars. There are a few little bugs in the app where the app says that my lights were on when they weren't. Happened 2-3 times in a month of having this set up. But other than that. Wow. What a great product. I can control all my lights from anywhere in the world with the Lutron hub that came with my starter kit. I didn't need an Apple TV. The Apple TV allows you to use Siri to control the lights with your voice at an external location. But I'm happy with the free app that Lutron provides. The app allows you to do so many things. I have my outside lights set up on a timer where they turn on at dark and turn off at sunrise. Also I like the remotes that come with the switches. The switch to my outside garage lights is in my garage. So I set up a remote by my front porch switches so I can turn on the front porch light and the garage light at the same time without having to walk to the garage to turn those lights on too. Also, I smile when I arrive at my home and all my outside lights turn on with the location perimeter I set up in the app. (VERY COOL) Oh and by the way as long as you are on your wifi network at your home you can use Siri to voice command the lights! I wish the switches were a bit cheaper but I do think they are worth the money for the cool factor! All in all. It's a great product.

We actually have several of these in the house. The pico remote can be wall mounted, giving you the ability to create a three way switch with zero wiring required. They can be paired to multiple switches as well, so you can create one master to turn the whole area on or off. They’re very reliable and just plain work.

I have been testing several products that work with Apple HomeKit. Lutron Caseta is my favorite switch because it is reliable with its connection to HomeKit. I also purchased the Lutron Hub. I like that the switch does not take extra wires to work the remote. The switch has 2 pigtails to connect to so it keeps the box neat. The remote is wireless and you are able to pair multiple remotes. For the remote there is a nice mounting bracket to allow it to mount in to a box or on the wall. The middle button on the remote will put you back to the last dimmed setting. Love that.

I've installed a number of these in the house now along with the bridge device and they just work. I love the ability to start to use automation. These are also good as standalone. Easy to install and easy to pair the remote for another location. If you want to mount the pico remote in an existing light switch location (2-way) you'll need to purchase the PICO-WBX-ADAPT. This will allow you to put it in an existing box. The wires at that location will be all connected together so it will just use the remote to communicate to the main switch.
