I am a fan of the Mafia series video games, and this game was rumored a few years after Mafia 3 in 2016. The wait did not disappoint! I love the Sicilian setting; it is stunning, and the story totally nails that classic mob movie vibe. If you loved the first two games, and also love the classic Mob films, this game is for you! Exactly the comeback the series needed.

They cooked with this one. Mafia: The Old Country was great—Enzo and the whole cast of characters were great, the graphics, the combat (for the most part), the music, the cutscenes, the story, and the backdrop of 1900s Sicily were all great in this game. Besides Enzo, I especially liked Don Torrisi—he was a force to be reckoned with from start to finish. He was such a strong character and Don, easily my second favorite in the game. Luca, on the other hand, was done dirty fr, but his story still served a great purpose. The game isn't perfect, though. Issues I had with it were just its performance on PS5 (stuttering and fps drop) and some aspects of its gameplay design (a little clunky and buggy). But, other than that, I didn't have many other complaints— the game is good, and I hope it does well enough to get a Mafia IV greenlit. Stu jocu fu 'u piccu. I give it an 8.5/10.

I like the storytelling of this game. It is linear storytelling at its finest. The characters, the acting, and especially Enzo and Isabella’s story was intriguing to watch. I could see this being a short miniseries on just this story alone in the mafia universe. Overall, the game looks amazing, story was awesome, gameplay was average. Check this game out if you like full on story games and atmosphere.

A Masterpiece of Myth and Memory

Mafia: The Old Country on PlayStation 5 isn’t just a game—it’s a cinematic elegy to legacy, loyalty, and loss. From the moment the orchestral score swells and the rain hits cobblestone streets, you’re not playing a character—you’re inheriting a myth. The remastered visuals are breathtaking with every frame dripping in atmosphere. The lighting alone feels like it was painted by Caravaggio. But it’s the emotional storytelling that elevates this experience. The voice acting is hauntingly human, and the narrative choices carry real weight—not just for gameplay, but for your soul. Combat is tight and purposeful, but never gratuitous. Driving feels era-authentic, and the city itself is a living relic—full of secrets, sorrow, and silent witnesses. It’s not about sandbox chaos; it’s about reverent immersion. If you crave stories that feel sacred, characters that linger like ghosts, and worlds built with emotional permanence, Mafia: The Old Country is essential. It’s not just a game—it’s a monument.

Mafia: The Old Country fits perfectly with the Mafia franchise. This game delivers a realistic experience for players looking for an in-depth story that does not waste the players time with trivial tasks. Overall, you can enjoy this game in full within about 14-20 hours depending on playstyle. I recclommend playing on the Hardest dofficulty to get a more realistic challenge. If you want to focus on story then Normal difficulty should be fine.

This game is my first Mafia game and it’s so cool. The story is very well done and it even has some emotional moments that got to me. The open world and gameplay is also good. I would definitely recommend this game, and it’s only $50.

The story and gameplay are great,as well as the graphics. The downsides were that it was super short to play, but also that it isn't truly an open world in the sense of games like breath of the wild or tears of the kingdom.

The storyline is very well thought out and “pulls” you into another world. The graphics are amazing, particularly the landscape and scenery. Overall an enjoyable game and a bargain as compared to other new releases. Check it out!

It's a good game and excels in its cinematic story and beautiful setting. It's more level based which I ended up appreciating because of its lack of sluggish side quests. It doesn't innovate but I recommend for those who don't have a lot of time for open world games anymore. Definitely worth the 30$ I payed for a basic third person shooter with a good story.

I love the Mafia and GTA style games. If you are a working adult like me and don't have much time to game this is a great linear story based game. It is like playing an old school mafia movie. You will love it!

Old Country is a return to form of the linear story telling that made mafia series beloved. The story is servicable and the graphics are great. The open world mode seems tacked on and rushed.

Sweet and short. I had a great time roaming around old time Sicily. The driving is always difficult in these games but makes up for it with the great story line and combat options.
