The device was easy to set up. It has many features that I do not use such as digital video recording and USB multimedia player. I have an old Zenith TV and it works fine with it as a converter box.

The DVR works as advertised and there are both HDMI and composite connectors which mean that the box can work with just about any TV or VCR.

Less expensive and works much better than the Insignia I replaced it with. I have a surround system hooked up. The insignia sound was always off and I had to turn in and off to sync. This unit is always synced with the sound plus with an external hard drive records live tv.

This converter box works great with my old 32” analog tv. I’ve had my television for almost 30 years n when they switched over I had another converter box that didn’t work as well. This one has so many options. I haven’t tried those yet but just plugging it in gave me so many channels that I didn’t even know existed. Eventually when I become more tech savvy I will try to record on it. I would recommend this box.

I have used this DVR several times over the past month to record various things on OTA channels, and it has done well so far. All you need is an USB drive or external HD to plug in the front to store your recordings. I suggest at least a 64 GB drive/HD. Great DVR for the price!

Will do more than I ask for, which is simply converting digital to analog TV signal. We have gone through several converter's and this one gets a better picture, and more stations than any of the $20.00 boxes ever did, well worth the extra cost so far.

I really love my Mediasonic -Digital to Analog TV Converter Box, It does everything it says it does in it's summary. Also love that I don't have to rent DVR services and boxes from high priced cable company anymore. Wish I cut the cord long time ago.

Works very good. Channel searches are available for use. Favorite channels settings. When the antenna is repositioned you just need to do another channel search to get things started again. Easy to setup and use. Recommended.

The DVR serves the basic function of recording TV shows on a USB drive. A one hour show requires about 1.5 GB and uses the MTS format, which limits the playback options. I prefer MKV files, which are about half the size, work on the Samsung TV and an Android tablet. So far, I have not found a way to convert the files - Handbrake is my favorite but it doesn't work with MTS. The software seems a bit flaky but is usable. I have been bombarded with Best Buy emails - 3 or 4 per day - which will guarantee I won't be buying anything else.

We have a Vizio smart display TV that doesn’t have a built-in tuner. This plugged in to our rooftop TV antenna just fine and after 3 scans we have 15-20 local OTA channels. No issues with the tuner functionality. I can’t comment on the DVR as we don’t use it.

The setup was more challenging than using the device. The user's manual/insructions typset are too small to follow; likely because too many pages of instructions in foreign language were crammed into the manual. The graphic illustrations are poor. Customers with visual deficiencies would have difficulties following the instructions.

A back up drive will not work and 128 GB usb drive won’t work. Finally bought a 64 GB thumb drive and it works great. The look on screen and channel info is an improvement over the “over-the-air” look and channel menus. Ultimately the DVR is a good product (with the right usb drive) and a good value.

Now that we have “cut the cord” from cable, satellite, or phone streaming, needed a recording device to be able to watch other channels offering programs we like at the same time . This device was the answer for our needs for over the air TV watching.
