I bought this laptop for school, and so far it has been real helpful and meets all of my expectations. love it!

I was in the market for a new laptop and after hearing a lot of positive things about this laptop I decided to give it a try. Im no computer or technology expert and mainly use my computer for school, videos, and sometimes to play Sims. I’m not gonna do an extremely detailed review but I would like to share some thoughts. 1. The laptop is beautiful. A lot of people compliment the way it looks or ask me what kind of laptop it is when I use it. The Gold color is more of a champagne or titanium but still very nice. I’ve seen the other colors in store and think they are all great. Much nicer in person than online. 2. Only one USB port, and it charges my phone VERY slowly compared to the multipurpose port on my last laptop. However I did notice there was a USB port on the charger which was a nice surprise. That port charges my phone much faster. However I do wish there was another USB port on the laptop, I tend to keep one occupied with my Bluetooth mouse USB adapter and would like to be able to connect other USB devices without having to remove it each time. 3. Do people not use HDMI anymore??? Not having an HDMI port sucks. 4. This laptop was able to handle me running my Sims game. No complaints there. 5. Bottom of the laptop often gets very hot, even with light use. 6. Screen is beautiful! 7. Doesn’t come with pen. I know it’s not supposed to convert to a tablet but I wish it bent back further, at least to 180 degrees. I ended up buying the pen for writing notes but it’s difficult to do so with the laptop angle. 8. Very lightweight. I don’t mind carrying this in my backpack because I barely notice it’s there. Overall, this laptop isn’t perfect, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons for me. Ive now had it about 2 months and I find it definitely serves its purpose. Many will compare it to Apple notebooks but I’ve never been an Apple laptop user so I didn’t have much interest in getting a MacBook nor can I speak on how it compares.

I was so impressed with my sons surface for the last year and easy it was for him to complete his college work that I wanted one for myself. Problem was that I "had" a Mac Air Notebook. Recently had to work on a software problem for my work and was told that it couldn't be done on any Mac. Enough siad, bought the new Surface and haven't looked back since. Love this computer - fast smart and easier to use than that Mac..

Functional and cut above the rest of other brands. Product is a little expensive but it’s totally worth every penny. The computer is light with a great processor.

I love this laptop! Light, super fast, (8gb ram) but faster than the surface pro 4. This is the fastest and lightest laptop I ever owned!! (I've had many hp's)! So, consumer reports says it may break! How do they know? It just came out! I had my surface pro 4 for 2 years and it was fine ne, but this is amazing!! I recommend to all! Buy a cover to give it protection since it is yhin. Common sense guys!

Its lightweight, super fast & powerful and overall fun to work with. I highly recommend.

This laptop is a top performer. It has excellent features and is very user friendly.

What can I say. It's a SURFACE!! BOOM, super fast, super fast start up, super high resolution. Easy to carry, easy to put anywhere to work or socialize! I cannot say enough of how much I like this computer. Oh did I say battery life? Just like the bunny, it just keeps going and going and going!!

Returned to get the red one. Love the color. This, light weight. Nice but a bit slow.

The laptop itself looks amazing. I bought the laptop so I would have a faster laptop and be more organized while going into my first semester of college. The screen sketch makes it easy to write notes on PowerPoints from professors and helps me not waste paper with a notebook. Amazing laptop!

Nice laptop, lots lighter than the surface, chrome won't work on the laptop, it freezes up but learning to use edge. The pen won't stick to the side like the surface book, but it works great on the laptop still.

Very responsive awsome battery life went above and beyond the expectations i had for it all in all was very pleased with the purchase

Things I love: - Light weight - facial recognition - material around key pad (nice addition) - Super easy set up Only concern - the first “update” made the facial recognition not work. But I was able to get on with Microsoft CS and they were able to get that resolved quickly.

I bought this laptop after owning the surface pro. I had a few issues downloading apps outside of the Microsoft store but I was able to fix this issue on my own. Very light and easy to bring to school. Very fast and many features that allow for great organziation.

Light weight and powerful, love the pen. great for traveling! No issues so far...

This computer is very good for my work is very fast

This was initially a computer purchased by mistake. I was really looking for a Surface Pro 4 tablet for a new hire where I work. (That's been our corporate standard for a little while now.) The Best Buy salesperson grabbed me the wrong box, and I didn't notice before I got back to the office with it. But I realized this Surface laptop had identical specs to the Surface Pro 4 I was trying to buy and was so similar, it used the same docking station and AC adapter. So I wound up trying it as MY computer and gave my Surface Pro 4 to the new person. Really, this *is* a Surface Pro 4 except put into a traditional notebook case. That means you get a real keyboard and trackpad instead of that keyboard cover (which is flimsy and makes it hard to type with the computer in your lap, and not on a solid surface like a table or desk). It has very good performance and a sharp, high resolution 4K display, plus good battery life (lasts at least 5 hours or so in "real world" use). About my only criticisms of this machine are the lack of an SD card reader slot (I mean, seriously? Not even a small slot for MicroSD cards?), and the way its price jumps WAY up for configurations with a 512GB SSD in them. I really wanted this with 512GB of storage but that priced it out of the range of what we're willing to pay for new notebooks.

My wife and I bought this computer for our Grandson who just graduated from High School. He will be starting his Engineering degrees this fall and we wanted to get him a real high power computer that would last the 4-5 years he's in college. He's also a big time gamer so we knew he would be pleased and he was. He is very happy with this computer and with us!

I loved the size, color and weight of the laptop. I was not impressed with the hp system. I was having trouble downloading apps onto the laptop. It said i could not download Google Chrome because it was not in the app store. It stated that I could download it a different way but every time I clicked that button it kicked me out completely. Therefore I found the computer tough to use.
