I like this because its a brick you plug your usb, monitor, network and power into and when I come home or go to work I can easily disconnect all my devices or reconnect all my devices with great ease. The connection magnetically attaches to the side and it works great even with my case. I have two of them and they work great.

I used an SP3 with a dock for a few years and was in need of an upgrade. I had to go with the SP4, so it was only natural that I added the Surface Dock. I passed the SP3 dock along to a co-worker. I have a Surface Dock at work AND at home, so it's like having the exact same working environment in both places. Love it!

I really enjoy how i can connect multiple usb ports, displays, audio and ethernet with one simple connection. I would have preferred one hdmi and one display port versus two display ports for a better range of options but a hdmi to mini-display adapter is a simple fix. Other than that it has all the ports i could ask for.

Been waiting to buy these to pair with my SP4 and wish I didn't wait so long! It's great to be able to just plug in and have a full desktop ready to go. Make sure to download the Surface Dock updater and update the firmware to avoid any issues. I had to update the dock 3 times before it finally said it was up-to-date.

Turns my Surface into a full fledged PC. Hook up monitors with the Mini Display ports, and it really can turn your mobile office into a regular real office. Has USB ports and all, and is the main "hub" for docking into a home workstation. Expensive, there are cheaper ones out there, but I went with this one to ensure the best operation. Very satisfied.

I purchased the dock connector to make my desktop setup super tidy. When paired with my Surface book, I can detach the screen and use a better mouse/keyboard combo, use a second monitor and keep it topped up with a charge. This is a must have for anyone looking to use their surface book on their desktop.

The docking station is a real convenience since my Surface Pro serves as a PC replacement while I'm in the office, and whenever I'm on the go, I just quickly and easily disconnect the power and GO!!! Once I get back to the office, it's as easy as place it down and attaching the power source. Nothing could be easier!!!

I have tried to save money on lesser docks. They just wasted my time and money. This dock functions perfectly, saves the power plug for travel, and has a nice weight to it. That last one is important. It doesn’t slide around when connecting, and when connecting a USB device it can almost be done one handed after broken in.

I bought this for a Surface Book 2. Previously I had a Surface Pro 3 and the Surface Dock that it slid into. I think I like this solution better where there's just one simple magnetic connector. Anyway, the port selection is excellent and it does a great job of quickly charging my computer.

I’ve used multiple docking stations for work before, HP and the older Surface dock (the one for just the tablet). And I really can’t see a complaint here, i love it and it works great. I’f you have modern monitors you shouldn’t have an issue, I suspect most of the complaints here are trying to work with their monitors from the early 2000s. I got 2 basic monitors (1080p/HDMI) and they work flawlessly. I got amazon basics hdmi to mini HDMI cables for like 6$ And they work great with this dock as well. Set up was under 5 minutes as well. (Also in case it matters to anyone reading this, I’m using this with a surface laptop 2)

This docking station makes it simple to have a separate monitor and keyboard to use when staring at a small Surface table screen isn't what you need. Setup is easy and on cable connected to the surface each time is all it takes to have everything on your desktop at your fingertips.

Love the compact size and the ability to convert my surface pro into a more enhanced machine. The extra USB 3 ports are a welcome as well as the ability to have a permanent connected monitor. I have a nice little setup and couldn't have done it without this docking station.

I've had a Surface for quite some time (Pro 3), and I don't know how I've managed without it. It is easy to travel with, but it is sturdy enough to have as a desktop docking station. The price is pretty steep since the Surface should come with more than a single USB, IMO.

I got this in hopes that it would allow me to use the surface to fulfill all of my mobile and at home needs. It works fine, but has limited connection options. I needed multiple adapters in order to use it with most of the equipment I have. It does allow for you to use the surface more as an all purpose machine, but could be much better.

Surface dock increase functionality of Surface Pro by using only power connection power your surface and provide extra usb ports, video, and Ethernet. My daughter uses this at school so that she can connect to schools Ethernet, her printer and usb mouse but just connecting power cable to recharge unit.

I have an i7 surface pro 4, which I absolutely love. The combination of portability and power is fantastic. This device allows you to use it as a desktop replacement. It is not cheap, so I tried to live without it. It didn't take long for me to realize my mistake. With this, I come to the office, plug this into my surface and it is essentially a desktop. I have an ultrawide 34" monitor hooked up via mini dp. It immediately recognizes the monitor and extends my screen. I have a hard drive for backups, blutooth adapter for my favorite keyboard ever (logitech denovo edge), a blu ray burner, and network cable all plugged in. Everything works perfectly and is recognized immediately. Plus, it keeps my surface at full power without needing to fiddle with my original charging cable. Now the charger stays in my bag and never gets left at the office. I know it is just a brick with a bunch of ports, but the quality is impressive. It is wrapped in a rubberized material instead of plastic. It is a premium and sturdy feeling product.

Great product for those looking to use their Surface Pro as a desktop. Increases the Surface's connectivity. I use this dock to connect the Surface to a QHD monitor and speakers. Barely takes up any desk real estate, and handles the QHD's 2K resolution with ease.
