I'm a PC advocate but I love designs of Macs/Apple products. This combines the best of both! I was looking for a personal laptop and this hit all aspects of what I was looking for. Great/easy to use and it looks beautiful, and I feel great using it too.

What I liked about the Surface Laptop is that it offers multiple colors now and is well suited for my travels, offering all-day battery life, strong portability, a clean build, and an AI assistant that can streamline my workflows. However, it is relatively on the expensive side and includes only one USB-A port.

I have been Loviiiingggg this laptop. Screen, chassis, keyboard, touchpad, battery life, thermal management under heavy tasks. Everything is great. Nothing is lacking at all. Keyboards are very subjective but for a thin form laptop it is superior to competitors. The built in AI model: Copilot is very helpful for managing the laptop internally. This surface copilot is able to help find photos that may not be labeled properly yet with its visual features. Simple search you photo database describing what the image contains and it can pull up photos with those qualities in them. That is a neat feature that is helpful when organizing and moving photos over from a phone or memory card. The touchpad rivals laptops from their competitors names after a fruit. The processor, ram combo are great. Nothing is slow to load or execute. Web surfing is quick and snappy. Running applications is a nice experience even if they are graphically demanding.(To an extent, dedicated GPU are nice if you need them) I would completely recommend this product to anyone who wants a sleek professional looking laptop using windows. Light to carry around. Robust build quality. I genuinely love it for a college or work laptop.

Bottom Line: Microsoft built the Surface Laptop to compete in the premium ultraportable productivity market, and they’ve delivered a near-perfect product in that category. Pros: near-perfect design; impressive screen; good sound; solid performance; fast charging and long battery life Cons: no ports on the right side of machine Full Review: (Design) The Microsoft 13.8” Surface Laptop isn’t redefining laptop design, but it perfectly nails the design that categorizes the category. The all aluminum case (mine is black) looks and feels fantastic. There are no visible cooling vents they’re integrated into the hinge) nor speaker grill, which gives the machine a very sleek look. The backlit keyboard offers a comfortable typing experience, and the haptic feedback trackpad feels exactly the wya it should on a product in this category. Interestingly, the ‘delete’ key is where I expected the power button to be (which is located to the left), which may be a useful placement for editing work. The left side of the machine has 1 USB-A and 2 USB-C ports, while the right connects a magnetic charger. One feature I was highly impressed with was the screen. The laptop utilizes a LCD panel, which has the benefit of instant-on when you wake the machine, but also delivers surprisingly good brightness and contrast. HDR looks great and, frankly, way better than I expected for a laptop targeted toward productivity. Also, given how good the screen looks, it’s somewhat surprising that it’s also a very responsive touch screen. With regard to content consumption, the Surface laptop delivers really good audio performance, with crystal clear mids and highs. One challenge for thin and light laptops is audio lows, and this machine is no exception. However, taken together, the audio system delivers high quality sound both in standard and Dolby Atmos modes. Performance-wise, this is my first ARM-powered Windows laptop, and the Snapdragon X2 seems more than capable at handling productivity and AI workflows. Using Co-Pilot on a chip designed for AI, for instance, is a major improvement over using the cloud-based version, as I was able to generate a social media ready poster from a prompt in under ten seconds. I also wanted to test gaming capabilities, and so I installed Final Fantasy VII Remake. The game played really well, with the only noticeable issue being a little bit of frame jitter as I was quickly panning the camera around. My only minor gripe, which is common on premium ultraportables, is that there are only ports on one side of the machine. I really would have liked one USB-C port to be on the right side, but I get why locating both of the same size saves space in the design process. Last, the Surface Laptop is clearly designed for those looking for a premium ultraportable, and it is priced accordingly. That makes it a bit more expensive than other productivity laptops, but those who want design, portability, and performance won’t go wrong with this machine.

It has taken me a long time to put my thoughts together on this one. The new Microsoft Surface Laptop is far better than I expected it would be. I have been using the new 13.8" Surface with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus for about a month as my primary business machine. I primarily use a M5 Max MacBook Pro 16" as my daily driver for personal/work so going into this review I was pretty skeptical the Surface Laptop with the Snapdragon X2 Plus was going to hit the mark for me. But I was wrong. The Surface Laptop has been everything I need in a business laptop. Light, fast, great battery life, and most importantly for me... reliable. ARM based processors are no longer the albatross in Windows that they once were. I have had zero issue running any of my software (VPNs, SAP, Office, etc.) on the Surface Laptop and it has been a fast and fluid experience. The 13.8" screen is a little tight for me, but the more vertical aspect ratio goes a long way towards making it feel bigger than it is. That said, it is colorful, responsive to the touch, and has a fast 120hz refresh rate making it feel super smooth in action. The keyboard is great to type on and the touchpad is about equivalent to my MacBook Pro which for me is high praise. The new Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus is surprisingly quick and because of the lower core count is very battery efficient. I can easily go a day without charging and that is 10 hours or more on it. I would say this is every bit as good as my MacBook in that department and considering it is less than a third of the price of my MacBook it is an easy recommend for anyone who needs a business machine to take on the go. It is well built, quick, light, and has outstanding battery life.

My review is for the Surface 13 Touchscreen with CoPilot and Snapdragon First impressions of the style and usability was that the laptop is very sleek and thin. It is not the lightest laptop, but it is a very manageable weight and it is thin enough to fit in almost any sleeve or bag. The keyboard has a nice easy touch. Light enough that you don’t have to hit them very hard but there is a click to them so you know you have hit the key. If you are an avid copilot users, there is a special key to open copilot. The mouse pad is large enough that your hand had plenty of room. I like that you can tap anywhere on the pad to “left click”. The screen is a touchscreen for easy use without have to use the keypad or mouse if preferred. The refresh is fast enough that there is no lag when opening or closing apps. The colors are very bright and true colors. Video playback is smooth without any pixelation. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. There are no visible speakers, but the sound depth is very good for a small laptop. One nice feature is the power cord. The attachment is not a plug in. It is a magnetic connector so if you catch something on the cord, the cord with come off the laptop instead of your laptop crashing. The battery life is definitely great and I can see it lasting most of the day without being plugged in. Overall, this is a great laptop. I am enjoying using it.

This Microsoft Surface Laptop is built for AI (CoPilot) and is amazing! At 13.8 inches, it's the perfect size for use at home or on the go. It was super fast to setup right out of the box and performs really well. It is really sleek - and just looks amazing. It is super light and cutting edge in design. It has a unibody design - it looks like came out of the factory in one piece and wasn't assembled. The HDR display is also super vibrant - making it great for design software or video content. It is also a super responsive touchscreen making zooming in or out realy easy. It also has a great oleophobic, making cleaning fingerprints and smudges off it really easy. The touchpad also has haptic feedback making the PC feel like a true hybrid of a smartphone and computer. Another differentiator is the battery life. I've been able to use the PC for more than one day without charging if needed and then it charges super fast. The biggest differentiator from other PCs is that it can process CoPilot AI requests locally on the PC. It has AI-enabled search within Windows making it super easy to find files or documents that might be misnamed or misplaced. Overall, it's a really fantastic PC and I highly recommend it!

The Microsoft Surface Laptop has developed a strong reputation in the PC market. The latest edition in this area is a strong addition. If you want something portable for school, home, or everyday productivity, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 13.8” model may be the one for you. After using it for a while, I found a lot to like, but there are also a few things I didn’t like about it. First off out of the box, it will take a bit of time to get set up. You have to connect it to your Wi-Fi and go through a full set of updates. You will have to sign in to it with a Microsoft account and go through a full set of configurations. In all, it probably took me about 45 minutes to get through it. It is something to be aware of, but after that, you are ready to go. As for performance, the laptop itself is fast. It comes with a 512 GB SSD. IT is not the biggest hard drive, but it can handle most of the standard jobs you have. The system uses the Snapdragon X Plus processor which handled my needs smoothly. A nice feature is the 2K (2304 x 1536) screen is bright and clear. It is also a touchscreen. One thing is if you do have to sign documents, the screen actually handles it very well even if you just use your finger. To round out the nice set of features is a backlit keyboard which is almost a must anymore. A couple of things I want to nitpick on is that Microsoft refers to this having a razon thin bezel. I would not necessarily call it that. The bezel is about an eighth of an inch all the way around. While it is certainly thinner than most laptops, it is noticeable. It is a small complaint, but it is one that stood out. For me, the next negative is probably a matter of personal preference. The Microsoft Surface Laptop used the Surface Connect Charging cord. While I understand the safety purposes behind the magnetic connector, I just have never quite liked the feel of it. It kind of feels cheaper to me. I prefer the feel of USB-C chargers. To me, I like the connection better. Like I said though, it really is personal preference. As far as your expansion ports, it comes with 2 USB-C ports and 1 USB-A type port. There is no HMBI port. If you want to use an additional HDMI monitor, you will need to get an adapter to do so. This will take up one of your ports in the process. CoPilot comes with the Windows Home 11 setup. The CoPilot is a nice feature, and it integrates well with the system. It can help search for files and images that you have on your system. This can be a big time saver in some circumstances. I didn’t use it much for anything else, but this was enough for me to like it. My belief is the Microsoft Surface Laptop is probably best suited for students (including college students), home use, or even people with a need for a lightweight travel system that can handle everyday productivity. It is easily portable. However, if your business requires heavy workloads, I would probably lean more into a business laptop instead of this one. In the end, I really enjoy the Microsoft Surface Laptop. It is lightweight, thin, and has a sturdy outer shell. The touchscreen is one of my favorite features with it. It is great for home and school use. The charger and just lack of an HDMI port are issues for me, but may not be to others. I still recommend the Microsoft Surface laptop to students, home users, and anyone looking for a solid everyday lightweight, portable system.
