Kind of a gamble but the odds are in your favor

I knew going into it that there was a possibility the unit may not be 100% perfect. It showed up quickly and was packaged nicely. The box itself was appeared to be in good shape, as was the controller. Initial set up was easy, and it connected right up to the wi-fi. However, later I connected to another network and it had problems. It wouldn't connect to xbox live. I checked online and changed some settings on the router and it did fine after that. Although sometimes it just drops the connection. I am not 100% sure if it is the box or the router. It has been 2 weeks and the disconnection issues are not as frequent. Another issue was the power supply. I didn't notice at first because I was only running the xbox for a few minutes at a time. The first time I ran the box for more than 20 minutes it shut down. The LED indicator on the power supply was red instead of the usual green or yellow when in standby. I unplugged it and noticed it was very warm. My online research confirmed my suspicions that the power supply was over heating. I ordered a new one from microsoft ($34) and it hasn't been an issue since. Like I said, it was a gamble, but for the price I don't think I came out too badly. It seems like most people haven't had the same issues I have had, but they were simple enough to fix.

    Bought a preowned Xbox360

Bought a pre-owned 360 so my son and I can play GTA5 together (was planning on getting the Xbox 1 but heard that you can't play together between 1 and 360). Initially was worried if the system will work (esp. since it''s preowned) but it has been a couple of months now and it's still working well.

    Great Value

Im not really much of a gamer. The one game I play is PGA TW 2013 so I can play with friends back east. Mostly I use the XBox for its streaming. It has all the great apps like HBOGO and Netflix/Hulu. The only drawback is if you are using a wireless controller it will turn itself off after about 5 minutes so theres a bit of a delay as you have to turn the controller back on in order to pause. I bought a refurbished Xbox360 and havent had any issues with it for over a year now. Great value and great quality.

My kid's first XBox 360 (white one) finally crapped out. All games are for the 360 and only looked to replace the 360. This refurb model works great! So far, so good!

the xbox was working great for a couple of month then it started to have connection issues. It wasn't my Internet because we have two xboxs and the other was working fine because the other one is not pre owned is brand new. Is been working fine lately but I'm still thinking waiting for it to come across another issue. For the most part it works good.

    Getting Old

The 360 was a great console, yet with next gen being more price competitive and graphics out matching the ability of the 360 I would only recommend getting this if you want to play some of the great games already made for the 360. Also good luck if you have to deal with Microsoft, worst customer service imaginable!

    Wouldn't Load

Purchased pre-owned system for family for Christmas. Set it up for the kids and it froze on the start-up screen. Spent hours Christmas morning online trying to figure out how to get it to work with no luck. Incredibly frustrating and highly disappointing. We'll never make this mistake again. Does Best Buy check their consoles before re-selling them?

    Worst customer service

I will never buy even a battery from BestBuy. They don't have a clue what customer SERVICE IS. I was on hold for a total of 45 minutes only to be told I would have to ship the entire product back beccause it was missing 2 parts. I asked why they couldn't just ship me the 2 parts. They said they don't do things like that.

    Not certified Microsoft hard drive??

    Posted .

This is preowned but "checked that it's functions properly" but apparently not enough. It will not play Halo 2 (a version stamped that it WILL play on xbox 360) and the only reason I can find online is that the hard drive isn't a microsoft certified one, in which case certain games will not play. That does not fall into "checked that it functions properly" category. Now we have to make trip to find out what kind of hard drive is in there to see if that's the issue (it's the only one I can find as possible). Not cool. If u are going to sell preowned/refurbed you need to disclose if you use after market parts to do so.

    Died after 7 months

This is now my 4th xbox in as many years. I'm not going to blame this on best buy, but the xbox itself is just not made very well. Thought this was going to be better than the older white ones with external hard drives and it turns out its much much worse. Don't waste your money. Hard drive failed, no amount of troubleshooting would get it working.
