While we recommend Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for the best Xbox experience, you definitely don't need Xbox Game Pass to enjoy the benefits of Xbox Live Gold. Gold members are able to play their Xbox games online, get up to four free games every month, and enjoy deep discounts on games and apps in the Microsoft Store.
