Customers are enthusiastic about the Moto 360 Smartwatch 46mm Stainless Steel's long battery life, stylish design, and useful notifications. They appreciate that it is easy to use and offers a variety of watch faces to choose from. However, some customers have concerns about its durability, display quality, connectivity issues, heart rate monitor accuracy, and its size being too large for smaller wrists.

Fantastic Watch, Great Battery Life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After my mishaps with the Samsung smart watch, and wanting to upgrade from my Pebble, I picked up this model and I have not been happier. The hardware is fantastic, and feels like you got your money's worth from it. The leather band out of the box is nice quality, and the watch itself is definitely made from quality materials. The charging dock is SUCH a better idea than Samsung and LG's clip-on charging systems and I don't have to worry about breaking the cheap plastic garbage that Samsung uses every night. I just sit the watch in its dock and it changes to a night-time bedside clock. I love it. The integration with Google Now and the Android system tray is flawless, and being able to send emails/texts etc. from my watch is great when my hands are full. The only reason for 4 stars is that there is indeed a small portion of the screen that is blacked out where the light-sensing diode measures ambient light and adjusts the brightness of the watch accordingly. I don't mind that much though since you get used to it, and the battery saving through this feature is great. I wear it all day at work from 9-6 and I still have a ton of battery life on it. I've had it off the charger for 3.5 hours at the time of this post and it's currently sitting at 91% power with ambient screen on and I get a lot of IMs / texts from friends throughout the day.

Stylish & Functional Tech
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For $250, this gadget has a great entry level price compared to Samsung and other similar devices but what caught my eye as a Samsung-techie, is that this is one of the first round screens. We are so used having our phones, computers, TVs and other gadgets having square or rectangle displays... that made me much more drawn to going with Motorola. And having it powered by Android, it was exciting to have the ability to personalize and customize through apps from the Google App store. I've sincerely enjoyed making my own custom watch faces and changing it on the fly, reads and sends texts, downloaded a calculator and all. The wireless charging makes this thing awesome! Not only that, wireless charging makes this water resistant! Some would argue the poor battery life, but I would have to disagree. This little bad boy can't last as long as the pebble, but the display is much more handsome in pixel density, color range, and brightness. And to add, I don't sleep with my wristwatches on either way... so, off it goes and charges every single night while I DO NOT worry about it dying on me throughout my day. I do have to say, after the first week, you lose the "Wow! I have a awesome electronic toy" factor but for the price and a techie, I do love my extension to my phone and look forward to wearing it every single day. And if you are a fitness junkie, this thing will definitely assist you with distance traveled via means of pedometer and calories burned via Moto Fit which reads heart rate and such. Just an awesome gadget for the price. I got mine open box for $217.99 or something like that. When in store, take it over to customer service and ask if they can open it so that you can inspect the condition. Mine looked brand new so I was happy to have saved $32 :)

Disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited to buy this for my boyfriend. it is very sleek and stylish. However, once he put the watch on and started playing around with it we were disappointed to see it had limited features, and was not worth giving up a traditional watch (or the $250)

The Best of the Best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is great. They require a firmware update before use which fixes all of the "battery issues." Despite what other reviewers have said, my watch has been on a single charge for about 12 hours now and I have 45% remaining. Although the watch is round and cuts the corners of Android Wear, it still looks great, works exceptionally well, and the only hard things to view are pictures received via SMS (it zooms in on them too much). Although your phone keeps Bluetooth on all day, you look at your phone much less which keeps battery usage on your phone about the same. This watch is great for avoiding texting and driving (don't do that!) and allows you to see map directions on your wrist, which is also more safe and more convenient. For $250, this watch is absolutely the best smart watch on the market (and yes, a much better design than the non-released Apple Watch). If you have an Android phone and are looking at smart watches, buy this one.

only android wear watch to consider
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the best looking smart watch on the market as of December 2014. It performs very smoothly and is really pretty handy. The design is probably the biggest reason to buy this android wear watch over other smart watches. The entire watch is made of stainless steel that looks and feels great. Watch has one button to power the watch on and off as well as turn the screen on and off. The band is genuine soft leather that feels good and looks pretty good but, it may be a little pain for some. The watch is advertised as using standard watch band but, that is not true, the watch requires special band with a small notch where they connect to the watch, which is probably one of my biggest complaints of the watch. The screen is pretty good but, not HD. It gets the job done. The little black sliver at the bottom of the screen really isn't that noticeable one you use the watch for a little while and is needed to hold the ambient light sensor which allows the watch to change brightness depending on the amount of light around you. The screen is gorilla glass, which is tough stuff but, sapphire would have been better. Android wear is really cool, it keeps me from pulling my phone out of my pocket as much and is fun to use.

Awesome device!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off let me get the battery issue out the way. I received my watch on Friday and as soon as I turned it on it prompted me to install the lastest update which addressed the battery issues. I haven't experienced any issues with battery (some reviewers claimed they couldnt make it through the day with moderate use). I took it off the charger at 9am and received moderate notifications and also showed it off to my friends. When I made it home I kept it on my wrist and went to sleep. I woke up the next day at 11am with 9% left. Now to the watch itself...........I love the Moto 360 because its look like a normal watch. The software isn't perfect but what is. Very seldom it stutters but its tolerable. I have experienced a couple of disconnects from my phone even with the lastest firmware but I dont know if has anything to do with the apps I installed. I say that because I didnt start to lose connection until I started downloading apps (it happened twice in 2 days). Other than that everything is okay. The navigation is easy to pick up on. The watch faces that come with the watch are pretty decent and there are a few apps in the market that let you customize even more. The build is excellent, the software is decent, and the battery is good. The watch allows you to decline or answer a call (you have to use the phone to talk), view and reply to emails and texts, full control over music thats playing on phone, adjust volume, toggle wifi, toggle ring/vib/sil, and much more. This by far is the best looking smartwatch on the market. Please remember that this is a first gen device and in my opinion is living up to the hype. Motorola has something and I pray that they continue to go in the right direction to make this the greatest line of smartwatches for years to come. For you guys that can't wait for Motorola to release their metal bands I purchased a Pebble stainless steel band and its look great with my Moto 360.

Best Smartwatch currently available
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Moto360 was ordered through Best Buy on Friday. It arrived on Monday after the weekend. I immediately tried to set it up and ran into the issue that caused another reviewer to claim the firmware was damaged. This is incorrect. What it needs to do (like any other device) is charge. It was my fault for wanting to play with it immediately. So I placed the device on the charger and it charged surprisingly fast. The other reviewers are correct that it charges at roughly 1% per minute. After it charged, it downloaded a software update. It would not allow this to take place earlier due to low battery and rightfully so. Initially, I noticed a fairly rapid drain. My guess is this was the device getting its software straight. However, after that battery loss became more acceptable. It made it through the day without a problem and still had about 30% left. That was with me sending test messages, playing with the heart rate monitor, using it to start music on my drive, trying out the navigation end, etc... The watch did everything and allowed me to check emails, texts, Facebook messages and more without having to pull my phone out of my pocket. I have an S5 and I didn't notice any extra drain on that devices battery either. Now I'm sure if you get 500 emails a day and 500 texts, etc... you may have difficulty getting through a day. But in my experience with normal use so far, the battery hasn't been the issue many people made it out to be. I took it off the charger and left for work about an hour and a half ago and I'm still at 93%. I love the watch so far and it doesn't hurt that it looks absolutely incredible. I look forward to future updates and functionality, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Posted .You may want to make sure that your software is up to date, because with the latest update you shouldn't be having any trouble getting through the day with average usage. It does last longer if you turn ambient mode off.

Great Buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went to Best Buy with intentions to buy the most current Samsung Gear smart watch. I didn't know of any other smart watches and I've been part of the Samsung family for a while. Therefore, it just made sense that I bought a Samsung smart watch. After talking with one of the reps on the floor, he told me about the Moto 360. At first, I was a little turned off by the fact that I couldn't do some of the things the Samsung watch does (ex. take pictures, sound playback, etc.) but then I realized the Moto 360 does everything I actually NEED the watch to do. It's also a little cheaper than the Samsung watch (by like $50). I get all my notifications without even having to touch my phone during the day. The battery life is great (after the update) and it's just a really stylish looking watch. Honestly, it looks a lot better than some of the other smart watches out there too. At first glance, it looks like a regular watch and then it lights up and really grabs everybody's attention. I'm sure I'll be buying another in the near future as a gift!

Wow...what a watch!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My experience thus far has been pretty stellar. I've read all the reviews online, even the bad ones. And I have to say I fall in line with what most people say. "It's the best smart watch out right now". I've had a lot of compliments on it already, with how it works and how smooth it is when changing screens. Voice commands have really impressed me too. I bought the pebble black steel watch band and I have to say that it really makes the watch pop. Everyone that's held it in there hands so far has complimented how light it is, and how nice it looks. There's more to it then eye candy though. I get several emails and txts a day, upwards of 100 +. I've turned off the ambient sensor, which hasn't bothered me at all not having it on. I've played with it a lot today showing it off and such, and the battery is still at 34% after 9.5 hrs. To me, being a smaller device with a smaller battery, that's more than what I was expecting. I'm sure with upcoming firmware updates, app updates, and active development, that this watch will reach it full potential in no time, providing an exceptional experience. I've enjoyed not having to look at my phone 100 times today. I give it 2 Thumbs up! bd

so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this watch ended up being way better than i could have hoped for. I'm someone who has always worn a watch anyways, so this wasn't that difficult of a transition for me. I dont like pulling my phone out everytime i want to tell the time or to check a notification that ended up not being important anyways. Having this watch was the perfect solution for me to keep doing whatever i was doing without stopping too much. at first i was worried about the battery life that everybody was complaining about. However since i've gotten the watch, they've done several updates to the firmware and the battery now lasts a full day for me. Usually putting it on my wrist from 8am and putting it back on it's charger around 2-3am with about 60% battery left. Of course the first 2 days i got it, i was playing with this watch nonstop and the firmware hadn't updated yet, so after a couple of hours my battery drained about 30%. no battery issues now anymore. The Watch itself feels great on the wrist. it's incredibly comfortable and light but feels incredibly high quality. i wouldn't say i have thin wrists, but i dont have tree trunks either, and it looks natural to wear compared to other smart watches out there. Don't expect to use this watch as a phone replacement, that wasn't the point of me wanting a smart watch to begin with. However, i work a lot with my hands and they never seem to be free when i get a notification on my phone, having something on your watch to quickly glance at is such a life saver, especially when your phone (samsung galaxy s5 ) is tucked away somewhere and you need two hands to get it out and open the case and do the security code and...the watch is much easier. The voice recognition is a little off at times, but overall, for my lifestyle, i'd say that this watch has made my life slightly easier.

It's everything I've wanted in a smart watch!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got my watch yesterday and I simply could not be more happy with it. I had a few problems along the way, but certainly nothing that can't be worked out. First let me start with some tips! Tip one - When you get it, no matter how much you want to get it up and running don't! Let it charge. It charges pretty fast so it won't take long. The reason is two fold - If it has any juice in it at all out of the box it won't be much and more than likely you'll be getting an update. The update was slow. Very slow so you won't be able to use right away. I'm guessing lots of people updating. Mine, for some reason, was not able to connect using WiFi so I had to use my carrier's cell network to do everything. I'll tackle WiFi tonight, but it might be an issue, The watch looks beautiful. I've already downloaded so many watch faces and a ton of apps! The notifications are awesome and the "Okay Google" feature for sending emails and text messages is super cool. Still learning a lot about it but I'm loving it! I've been using the crud out of it and showing everyone how it works and I'm still at half batter 5 hours later. Once I get it set and get into a normal routine I'm not going to have any battery issues. It's a must have device for Android.

Moto 360
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Introduction: The Smartwatch market is about to get very interesting 2015. With the impending release of the Apple Watch, and CES kicking off within days of this review, the Smartwatch market will see many companies trying their hand at good Smartwatch design. The Moto 360 managed to not only be one of the first Smartwatches available, but also the best looking, by a long shot. Without further ado here are the points that stood out. Build: Currently, most Smartwatch manufacturers are sticking with plastic as the go-to material. Motorola on the other hand has decided to go with the ideal material, metal. The body of the Moto 360 is absolutely beautiful; polished aluminum, and glass. It doesn't get much better than that. In addition to the high end materials directly on the watch, Motorola also included a very comfy and high end Horween leather strap. This altogether gives the Moto 360 a premium look and feel. Nothing on the market can match it at this point. Display: The display leaves much to be desired. It is a good starting point, but pixels are easily discernible. Consumers are accustomed to today's Retina HD and Quad HD displays, so seeing the Moto 360's display for the first time can be a bit jarring to pixel sensitive eyes. If pixel count is an after-thought for you, then ignore the criticisms. Software: The Moto 360 in it's current state features a pretty stable Android Wear 5.0 which also includes the almost perfect Google Now, custom watch faces, apps, Google Fit, Motorola's fitness software, and notifications. It is meant to be more in sync with Android 5.0 Lollipop, and at the same time give the user more options when customizing the look and feel. Battery Life: The Moto 360 has never been a champion of battery life. The luxury of having a beautiful time piece around the wrist comes at the cost of battery life. Even with the display off a majority of the day, you would be lucky to get more than a day and a half of use per charge. This may be ok for some, and a deal breaker for others, but it depends on your expectations. Comparably, the Pebble Smartwatch is advertised to last five to seven days on one charge which is great. Extras: In the box, the Moto 360 includes a nifty inductive charging base station, power adapter, and some literature. Inductive charging makes charging the Moto 360 a cinch! You simply lay the watch in the cradle and it begins to charge (a nice aside, while charging, the watch can double as a night stand clock). The Moto 360, and it's companion app from Motorola include a suite of fitness applications to take advantage of the included pedometer and heart rate monitor. The software is designed to analyze your movements and heart rate periodically to give you a overview of your general activity. The software is relatively easy to use, and helpful. Conclusion: The Moto 360 is easily the most beautiful Smartwatch available today, by a long shot. Considering most Smartwatches today run some variant of Android Wear, the only decision left to the consumer is what form factor they prefer. Considering this is the only Smartwatch suitable for a professional environment, this will probably be the go-to for most prospective Smartwatch shoppers. The design, material choice, price, and software make the Moto 360 a no brainer when considering the competition. But for the general population, Smartwatches remain a gadget for only the truest of tech enthusiasts.
