A thin and light laptop I needed for my work. I bought an laptop earlier from BestBuy but it only had 16BG of memory and I needed more to run the programs I needed for work and this fit the bill. It's easy to travel with and not to mention the eyes it catches with its beautiful art piece on the back of the laptop to start conversations.

I am so happy with this purchase. I was lucky enough to see an ad for this laptop when it was still $1,299 and, boy, am I glad I pulled the trigger on this one, especially since the price has since risen to $1,999. I was specifically looking for a thin and light laptop with decent RAM capacity and, more specifically, LPDDR5X. The Low Power Double Data Rate memory is soldered directly on the board, very close to the processor, so it's blazing fast, and this thing has 32GB, which is more than enough for most people, even for gaming. When I researched LPDDR5X and discovered that the max transfer speed was 8533MT/s, I assumed that was just a theoretical upper limit. But Windows Task manager and the Performance tab reflect that, and I ran AIDA64 benchmarks immediately after receiving it, and it's quite fast, with a sustained read speed of 87808 MB/s and latency of 95.3 ns. AIDA64 GPGPU Benchmark showed single-precision FLOPS of 3974 and memory copy of 70.8 GB/s. These aren't anywhere near discreet GPU numbers in a desktop gaming rig, but it's pretty darned good for a shared-memory iGPU. I decided to try some light gaming, and installed Steam and Final Fantasy XIV. I was absolutely flabbergasted when it ran the game perfectly with most settings maxed out. If you do plan on gaming with this laptop, keep in mind that, as a thin and light laptop with an integrated GPU it's not meant to run AAA games. That being said, it does have 2 USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports, so you could (and plenty of people have) run it with an external GPU to get something approximating a desktop gaming experience. Speaking of I/O, I'm totally satisfied with what is included; 2 Thunderbolt ports, HDMI, only a single USB-A slot, a Micro SD card reader (which I will get plenty of use out of, transferring print files to a Bambu 3D printer), and, of course, WiFi and Bluetooth. The OLED screen has some of the richest color and deepest blacks I have seen in a laptop, but the screen is very glossy and tends to throw off a lot of glare in dark conditions or subdued ambient light. If you're watching YouTube or streaming in a dark room, you'll definitely see yourself reflected on screen. The battery is great, too. I had heard in a video somewhere that they estimated it could continuously display video for up to 23 hours on a single charge, depending on the power management settings. And let's talk about this lid. Wow. Each one is handcrafted by Japanese lacquerware artisans with a version of Hokusai's Great Wave Off Kanagawa, which anyone who is familiar with Japanese art or, more specifically, woodblock prints, will immediately recognize. It is absolutely beautiful, but it is also a fingerprint magnet, and they REALLY show up, so be prepared to constantly buff the lid with the microfiber cloth sandwiched between the keyboard and the screen. Everything about this laptop is a work of art. The box is beautiful, too, and opens in such a way that it tilts the back of the laptop up out of the box to make it very easy to remove carefully. It includes a pretty little mouse with similar lacquerware artistry, but I'm not sure if it's actual lacquerware; I left it in the box, along with the cool badge holder and the extended mousepad/deskpad with matching art. The bundled laptop sleeve is nothing fancy. It has a nice soft, velvety texture to it, but ZERO padding, so it's not something I will be using regularly. Instead, I will probably opt for one of the Thule hard-shell cases. I feel like this is one of those rare instances where an electronic device will continue to retain some value after purchase. Each one is numbered, but I'm not sure what the production runs are all about. Mine is numbered XXX/700 A, so perhaps there are several production runs (A, B, C, etc.), each 700, because I can't imagine they will only ever make 700 of these. MSI's own website mentions that it comes with "up to Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 processor(Series 2)", but I have only seen this version. That being said, I can't imagine there would be a noticeable difference in performance between the two specs. This thing is a work of art, inside and out, and I can't imagine anyone being unhappy after purchasing one. If you're in the market for a thin and light laptop, and your budget is flexible enough, go for it. This is probably the absolute best electronic device purchase I have ever made.

Amazing machine, both looks and function

First off, you get some cool matching accessories: mousepad, mouse, luggage tag, etc. It's a nice inclusion which may not be obvious from the description. The laptop itself looks amazing. This isn't just some sticker on the lid or whatever, it's actually got texture to it and appears to be lacquered. It actually looks better in person than the pictures. Performance-wise, this machine is also top notch. It is powerful, has a great OLED display, nice port selection, and is extremely light. Battery lasts an incredible amount of time too - about 10 hrs of mixed use in my experience. It has an IR camera for Windows Hello, and the webcam (which is pretty decent) has a physical shutter built in. RAM is not upgradeable, but it ships with 32GB which should be plenty for most. The SSD can be swapped (1 slot only). I dropped in a 2TB 970 EVO I had from a previous machine and, after some fumbling with drivers, got a clean Windows install up. Note on that: you should probably download the drivers from MSI's site to a USB beforehand if this is your only device and you want to do the same. I have only two minor complaints: the speakers aren't great, and the machine is a huge fingerprint magnet. With regards to the speakers, they do get loud but don't sound great. Bass in particular is lacking. This isn't a big deal for me as I don't usually use this for media, but others may find it a bigger problem. The keys have that same lacquered finish as the lid, but both will show fingerprint marks very easily... and it's kind of hard to avoid touching either of those parts (especially the keys!) Let's just say there's a good reason they included a big microfiber cloth. The only other thing to note is the top of the lid is a bit squishy. I wouldn't put anything heavy on it, but then again you probably wouldn't want to anyway as it might damage that super nice art on it. Overall, I really like this device, though I'll admit a lot of it is just how nice it looks.

Owning the MSI 13" Prestige AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition feels less like buying a laptop and more like bringing home a piece of art that just happens to be insanely powerful. The lid design inspired by Hokusai’s Great Wave off Kanagawa, finished with multiple layers of traditional Japanese lacquer, looks even better in person than in photos. You can actually feel the subtle texture of the waves under your fingers, and the gold accents and detailing around the chassis make it look truly special, not gimmicky. Once you open it, the 13.3" 2.8K OLED display is absolutely gorgeous. Colors are vivid, blacks are inky, and watching movies or editing photos on this screen is a joy. Text is razor sharp, and the slim bezels keep the whole footprint compact and travel-friendly. Despite the premium finishes, it’s incredibly light at around 990 g, so tossing it in a backpack for work, school, or travel is no problem at all. Performance-wise, this thing flies. The Intel Core Ultra chip with Arc graphics, paired with plenty of LPDDR5x RAM and a fast 1 TB SSD (on my configuration), handles everyday multitasking, Adobe apps, light video editing, and AI-assisted workflows without breaking a sweat. Windows Copilot and other AI features feel smooth and responsive, and the 5 MP webcam with physical shutter is a nice touch for video calls and privacy. Battery life has been solid for a thin-and-light OLED machine, easily getting me through a typical workday of browsing, docs, and streaming with some juice to spare. The keyboard is comfortable, the glass touchpad is accurate, and the gold lettering on the keys adds to the whole “artisan collection” vibe. This is definitely a premium, limited-edition device, but if you care about both aesthetics and performance, the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition absolutely deserves a 5-star rating from me. And I got this on sale for $1,499 excluding taxes. Not bad.

The MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyoe Edition is a standout ultrabook that combines art, portability, and power in a way most laptops don’t. The OLED screen is phenomenal, the performance is smooth and modern, and the design is truly unique. It’s perfect for students, professionals, creatives, and anyone who wants a stylish high-end laptop that doesn’t compromise on capability. If you want something lightweight, premium, and different from the crowd, this one is absolutely worth it.

A laptop and a work of art

This is hands down the best laptop I've ever used and the only one I've seen that looks like it should be mounted on the wall as art. As a laptop it hits all the marks, but it's the beautiful lacquered art that is just breathtaking to behold. And they paid attention to the details. The keys have the same finish as the lid with the letters in gold, and the golden backlight is just gorgeous. The included accessories are perfect for setting up a workspace with this laptop.

It’s a beautiful laptop but the trackpad is very frustrating to use. It would constantly register 2 finger gestures as 3 or 4. I fiddled with the settings but couldn’t get it to work consistently correctly. Yes Windows trackpads don’t work as well as MacBooks but I have another Windows laptop that didn’t have this issue. I ended up returning it.

I want to love this machine, it's super light, the art on it is beautiful, the screen is very easy on the eyes (though unfortunately 60hz) but it just overheats super easy even if I turn off the P-cores, and idk how MSI managed to make Lunar Lake overheat
