    Great Pressure Cooker

This happened to be a BestBuy Sale of the day, and I nabbed it for 39.99. My dad hopped on the bandwagon and nailed him one too. The only reason why I did not give it a 5 star rating is because the manual is quote confusing if you have never has experience with a pressure cooker and I have not. I did go to pinterest and Google some recipes and play around with the settings. Some of the buttons like rice, saute, have preset time limits and they only go through certain numbers. In order to cook something for exactly 4 minutes, I pushed the saute button and made it go down to 4 minutes. It was an experiment, to see if it worked . The directions do say not to make macaroni and cheese in this, but I did and it worked just fine. It cooked fresh mac n cheese in 4 minutes. It made chicken and rice in less than 8 minutes. It is a learning curve to use one, but once you get used to it, you will wonder how in the world did you live without it!

Good Value for a Pressure Cooker

It has the perfect size for me (6 quarts). It works well with both soups and also meat dishes like pot roast. I like the safety features especially since once it reaches pressure, you don't hear it whistling or rattling. The reason I won't give it 5 stars is the instructions need to be written better. I kept pressing the preset button which means you are setting the time the unit turns off and that you need to click one of the meal presets and wait till the time shows up so you can adjust the cook time until I experimented.

    Make Meals in MINUTES!

I used a pressure cooker once at work and I was hooked. It steamed carrots in about 4 minutes. It's very easy to make any meal in this pressure cooker. The one thing I didn't like is that there's no preset button for meats. I first used the chili button for chicken per recommendation in the manual and the meat was overcooked and dry. I think it's best to use the Saute button for chicken and maybe for beef as well. You can use that with the lid off or lock it to steam it a bit. Because of that there's a bit of a learning curve but a little trial and error and it's very easy to make any meal. Vegetables are the easiest; steam them in about 3-5 minutes. I have many more meals to try in this thing but so far so good!

    Strange but it works

Overall, this is a pretty good pressure cooker. It has a nice stainless steel bowl and appears to be of pretty good quality. For the price I purchased it for, I am quite pleased. The weirdness comes from trying to cook using different settings from the standard buttons. For some strange reason the manufacturer decided to increment the timer in 30 minute intervals vs. using minutes which makes custom settings virtually impossible. Rather, I choose to use my own separate timer to avoid the confusion. That said, I'm happy with my purchase and it does a good job.

I got this on a deal of the day for a good price. Quality and construction is good but it has only basic buttons and the instructions are not that helpful. We've used it once for white riceand another time for chicken adobo. Both came out good but since there is no specific setting for chicken, you just have to kind of cook it manually and time it yourself.

I bought the 6qt instant pot and eat healthier now so already have lost a lot of weight. Also, I love the fact I can "set it and forget it." I have never had to babysit it once. As far as recipes go, there is always trial and error with something new. But most of my meals have been tasty. Food does have that "crock pot" taste and texture IMO, but I expected that since it essentially is a pressurized crock pot. There is little if any time saved in actual start-to-finish cooking time for most of the things I have cooked. Sometimes it even takes longer compared to other cooking methods. Frozen meat especially takes way longer than I expected to fully cook, but now with experience I know that and make proper adjustments. The huge time saver for me is that I can set it, go do something else, and return an hour or so later to a complete healthy hot meal. Also, other family members on different schedules can show up later and eat because the pot keeps it all warm. And now, I only have one pot to wash vs. many pots and pans all over the place with conventional cooking. That is invaluable to me. The other plus is that when it's hot outside, this pot won't heat up the kitchen like my oven. This pot isn't perfect and it's not for everyone, but it fits my lifestyle. I don't regret buying it at all.

I loves how you can add the food and walk away. You can make other dishes while it cooks. Love how the pan comes out the pressure cooker to clean and nice food does not stick or burn to pan. Still experimenting, rice takes a while still but cabbage and meatballs were very good. Would buy again just bulky to leave out on cupboard.

Beautiful looking appliance. Nice size for family of 4. As others stated, instructions were terrible. Took an hour or so of messing around before I was able to get my meal going. Finished meal was excellent. Got this for $40. Worth every single penny - even with the lacking instructions.

The unit works well and it is easy to clean. Needed to work with the presets but got it to work. This doesn't shoot steam all over like the old stove top types - this is a good thing. Makes great pork back ribs just like the restaurant.

This pressure cooker served me well. I cook a lot of beans and don't have to presoak. It finally gave up and geeksquad refunded me without any trouble. I promptly brought another one. Highly recommended. But buy warranty

In my opinion, pressure cookers are a gadget more than they are a necessity. However, as someone who owns a slow cooker and a rice cooker, I'm still happy with this purchase overall. As other reviewers have said, the cook modes are confusing. For pressure cooking, all you need to know is that the cook modes are the white rice, brown rice, and bean/chili buttons. Each one will assign a preset time when you press the button and then you can use the + and - buttons to adjust the time. If you want to pressure cook something for just 4 or 5 minutes, you'll have to set a manual timer since you can't adjust the time on the pressure cooker that low. The slow cook button can be useful as well, especially if you don't have a slow cooker. For this mode, it works exactly as a slow cooker (no pressure), so set your time as your slow cooker recipe calls for. I also use slow cook or soup mode for simmering pasta sauces and things like that. I don't know the temperature difference in these modes but seems insignificant. Definitely a learning curve involved with pressure cooking but worth the investment, especially if you can get it on sale.

We’ve used it almost every day since we bought it a couple weeks ago. Cooked a whole chicken, boneless pork ribs and lots of soup in a jiffy. Works great. Would like it to have a manual timer, you can adjust a pre-programmed setting but it was a little difficult to learn how to do that.

The cooker comes with instructions. They are junk. The cooker has presets. They are also junk. After spending some time on the internet, I learned how these cheaper pressure cookers work: there is no pump. They raise the pressure by turning liquids into steam. So make sure you have some "light" liquid in your mix. There is no preset for chicken, but we found that the brown rice preset is very close to the temperature and length of time for chicken, and it comes out pretty decent. Just make sure you toss in a little broth or something to aid the pressurization.

The pressure cooker works well but the instructions are useless it doesn't tell you what to set it on for anything that's not on the preset buttons. It doesn't tell you how many minutes the preset buttons are going to run you just have to guess. I cooked a roast with potatoes and carrots used the bean setting then added 60 minutes and it was great but just guessed at how long to cook it. This is the first pressure cooker I ever owned I will keep experimenting even the web site is useless.
