Great Extender

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I put in an ethernet hub, so that I could connect this device and my wife's computer both with an ethernet connection. It was my understanding that this facilitated the device acting as an access point so the WiFi name would be the same and not an "extension". I like the product and have a different NetGear unit in our bedroom that isn't connected via ethernet cable connections, but I learned how to make it be an access point using a different connection techinque (whose letters I don't remember just this second) but I like the Netgear equipment a lot.

The NETGEAR range extender fixed my problem

Good Speed, Some Drop Outs

My speeds are 170 down on the main router, and with these I can get 70 down. I am not able to put this in the best location, but my speed needs are met for where this extends the signal. I do get some times when it seems to lose the signal for a second, which is why I take off one star.

My Netgear router is upstairs and I was having trouble with my wifi signal downstairs.I placed the extender downstairs in my family room. No more buffering while watching HBO GO and Netflix. It was very easy to set up. The price was also not bad at all. Very pleased with this product.

Easy to setup

However I did not realize until after I was done that the wifi name would be different. That is only a minor problem and the reception is very good. I just wish I could go seamlessly from upstairs to my 3 season room without different networks.
