It will tell you to set up the extender using the app, but the app has issues as mentioned in one of the other reviews. If you go the url on the back of the device (mywifiext.local), set up is a breeze. Avoid the app and the wifi extender works great. I just wish it had 2 ethernet ports rather than only 1, but thats not a big deal.

It did help and it was very easy to install, to fix the reach of the WiFi it is worth every penny.

This is an excellent little range extender. I was having issues with a backyard WiFi camera frequently dropping off the network, but this device provided a solid and reliable connection. Setup was quick and hassle-free using the Nighthawk app, which made the process straightforward even for someone not super tech-savvy. I also really like the sleek design of this version—it blends into the house much better than the models with external antennas.

I bought this to extend my wifi signal to the furthest end of my router's range. It was very easy to connect. To set it up I recommend you logging onto your computer using wifiext so that you can better tweak the configuration to using both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghzor just one. I have a Netgear router, so both paired nicely. I recommend this extender. The sinal bost is string.

This is great little extender, more powerful than I thought, I placed it in my garage almost the farthest point from my router, to power my security cams and it works great. Easy to set up with the Nighthawk app.

I feel in the world of affordable residential networking appliances that Netgear offers the best selection for performance and security. The device was easy to setup and connect to my parents WiFi network. The only downside to the device is that it requires you to create an account online to setup and connect the device to your network.

Did not meet expectations had to penetrate one wall and had unusualble speeds. Have a Netgear router and it is top notch but this was disappointing. Maybe it would work better in open area not sure this was not a option for us.

Good product, easy to install, and works like it said on the package. That's why I only use Netgear products for my internet needs.

We have returned this item. It did not work as hoped in our situation.

This thing is a God send with our wifi as it essentially just stops after one wall in the house. It is super sleek so it is not an eyesore like some other models. The one down side, and its a big enough to knock it down a star, is the horrible set-up experience. The app is VERY buggy and confusing. It even warns you it will take 20 minutes to set up which I feel is WAY to long. I ended up having to do it twice to get it to work. Once its set up its a great product, but definitely bring your patience for the install!

Piece of junk. You need to download an app. The app syncs with extenders Wifi name but that didn't happen despite 6 tries.
