get this one not the 2ds if you want to play classic games. if you like playing your games without earphones/headphones, make sure to test out the speakers because they are low sounding speakers. They do not get any level of loud.

Like I said, it's pretty fun and pretty portable. I'd say that, when closed, it's about the length/width of a smartphone and a bit thicker than one. Adjustable screen angle. The inside screen and sometimes matte surface does seem to attract fingerprints and smudges, but those come off easily. The hinges do feel a little fragile, but I have not had any problems at all with them over the past 3 months, and it may just be me feeling paranoid. Whenever I use the analog stick, I'm also always paranoid it will snap sometime in the future. I'm guessing because I'm used to the brick that is the GBA SP. I don't know how compatible it is with big hands since I have small mitts, but it feels fine to hold for me. The included 4GB is holding more games than I expected to, but then again most of my games are virtual console, so take that with multiple grains of salt. Tl;dr: It plays well and is portable. The hinges and analog stick may be vulnerable in the long run, but it's very likely I'm overly worried.

Great device. Use it whenever I have spare time. Battery life is great. Use it to play some childhood games.

If you don’t need the 3D the New 2DS XL is perfect for on the go gaming. With access to the DS and 3DS library spanning more than ten years there’s plenty of games for everyone. The extra large screens give you great visibility for new and classic games you can see them in a new way.

It’s lightweight, and much more comfortable than the prior models. Don’t regret the upgrade at all!

My 6 year old loves playing our wii and wii U, and I think he loves playing this system even more.

My son loves this version. We previously had the original 2ds which was nice as well. Not a 3ds but it's still has most of the amenities i.e. bigger screen and cheaper price point just no 3d. All in all a good purchase.

I jumped on the 3DS train well after the 3DS was originally released. I did not buy in the first couple of years mainly because I don't really like the 3d effect and I need larger screens, Well jump several years ahead and Nintendo has released the Unit for me! New faster processor, XL screen size, includes the nub stick and a VAST library of games to choose from! best purchase! The only downside is the battery does not last that long.

I recently bought this and find myself enjoying it much more than the 3DS XL. It feels better and the weight difference is a big improvement. The speakers are not as bad as I had read and the only real issue is the length of the stylus. I really love the new Nintendo 2DS XL.

Great new look, love the colors, and love the big screen. My new favorite handheld console .

This is essentially a 3DS XL without the 3D. If you are like me and never use the 3d this is the handheld for you! It is also much less "top-heavy" than the 3DS XL since the top screen is thinner. Has the built-in Ambiibo support and can play the newer titles like Xenoblade.

I could not wait till this came out because I did not like the original 2ds, but I love the Nintendo 2ds XL. I am glad they made this. The graphics are awesome and the big screen is also great too. if you are a big gamer, you should buy this. The price is reasonable too.

I'm a Nintendo fan, but ended up skipping the DS and 3DS handheld generations. As a Metroid fan, the release of Samus Returns pushed me to get into the 3DS generation late, which isn't a bad move considering the huge library it has. The 2DS XL is a quality product that is a great way to get into the 3DS world for a bit cheaper than the 3D versions go. Screens look great, and build quality feels high.

This new 2ds xl is nice and lightweight. Slightly different design than the 3ds xl.
