    The D5300 replaced my D3100 and I am, so far, pleased with the upgrade. I'm still learning about all the new features but it seems capable of fulfilling my needs until I can graduate to a more professional model.

    I am an amateur in photography. I just take photos as a hobby. I am very pleased with my purchase. With my previous camera, I took all pictures on "auto." I have found that "auto" on this camera does not produce clear photos. However, other choices, such as the night party mode, food mode, etc., work great!
