Product purchased was Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 Premium, not the student/teacher edition. With a high quality microphone, recognition accuracy out of the box is remarkable. However, with training, earlier versions (I also have Version 9) achieve almost equal accuracy, and are more suitable for use with software such as Scrivener. One useful feature of both versions is the ability to transcribe dictation from approved digital recorders. I would definitely recommend this product.

Got this software for my wife for school (finishing her degree)... asked for verification of her student status. She sent in from her student email.... they didn't accept, had to send in student ID. Still didn't work! Called customer service, got verification process approved....Still couldn't get software downloaded (another department has to verify student status on their own before they approve code to download via web). Once downloaded, works great. Just getting to part to use it is difficult part!

I am unable to use my hands for very long on a keyboard but I still want to work an am a hard worker who will put in the hours it takes to get a job done! This product helps me continue to be the best that I can be with my disability

My son has always had difficulty putting his thoughts to paper, even though he can describe what he should write in great detail. This product helps him immensely with putting the words to paper, since all he has to do is talk and the words appear in the word processing program. The reason this product did not get 5 stars is that I could not install it on the computer I had intended it for. Instead, I had to install it on a different computer, one my son does not use for school, and I had to change compatibility settings to get it to install. Both of the computers use the Windows 10 operating system.

The paid dragon dictation is much better than the free. The Student teacher edition can ONLY BE USED BY TEACHERS and STUDENTS! They verify you before you can install the program! I didn't know this when I bought it, but luckily am a student. So, it is not like Windows student edition- which is less expensive and has fewer features...but anybody can buy and use it.

Works great! Big help for writing college papers. The tutorial could be presented better by making it easier to understand, but overall a good product.

Simple to use program, just install it, train it for five minutes and ready to use. Doesnt have to be a genius.

The program works very well. I am from the south and after a few instances in which I had to teach it how I said a word, it worked well. It keeps making me do these long updates which is annoying but I have started doing them as I shut the computer down for the night. It has frozen a couple of times but a simple closing and re-opening of the program solved that easily. It makes completing therapy notes and writing reports so much easier.

I bought it to convert my audio speech recordings to text. The more clear the recording, the more accurate You still have to do some word editing but it does a decent job.

In my opinion this is good to use for those who want to improve their efficiency in writing speed & help with those with physical challenges. Although it appears to be slow at first, once you consistently use this over several weeks, you will notice a difference, again dependent on how slow you type verses what comes out of you mind to paper. Use the headset that came with it or get better one-don't cut corners here.

Bought this software along with a new HP/windows 10 laptop all installed by Geeks There always seems to be a conflict between the preloaded Cortina windows software and dragon Spent several hours on chat and live talk with Best Buy geeks including in store. The only solution was to choose one or the other not both for voice to text. Additionally this program creates other software conflicts. All that glitters is not gold

This was very easy for me to activate with just my university e-mail address. It was activated in two minutes (not even the 24 hours they say) and I was on my way!

Use this to dictate reports that used to take me double the time to complete. Only have to make minor changes but I also have not set up voice training yet so I'm sure it will only get better.

Great software especially for students recording lectures.

I've been using Dragon for more than 15 years and the product keeps getting better. The setup only takes a few minutes for it to "learn" your voice (15 years ago, it took a half hour). It "understands" 5- and 6- syllable words effortlessly.

I used Dragon to help transcribe interviews for my dissertation. I fed the file in and for the most part it did a decent job. I have one interview with someone with a strong accent and Dragon didn't know what to do with it. But, the other files transcribed fairly well, making my job to edit them rather than start transcribing from a blank page. This isn't exactly how Dragon is advertised, and I haven't used it to do other things yet.

Impressive piece of software, although I haven't had much time to mess with it yet.

Very good product, which allowed the work and school that I was doing to be completed quicker and easier.

This product is great for an environment where typing responses, letter, and papers.

Been using DNS since the first version. This is by far the best. Working on four books. Need an agent and a publisher - FINAL SUFFRAGE is almost ready.
