I grew up watching this with my dad all the time on vhs,when I saw they released it on bluray i had to own it.it has drama,comedy,Heart.it’s just an all around good film and one of Jake gyllenhaals first films.

I can't believe I'm calling this a "classic" but that's what it is. This is an inspiring story about how intelligence and drive can get you out of poverty. If you want to feel good, this is one of the movies to watch.

This has been a favorite of our family since we saw it in the theaters. We have waited so long for it to arrive in hi-def, and that day has finally come, and with an excellent transfer to boot. Highly recommended.

I loved this movie when it first came out, and finally it is available on blu-ray. It's an inspiring, heartwarming film based on a true story. It looks great in high def and I will be watching it again and again!

If you don't watch any movies before 2000 (hence young generation) you are missing out. This one is must watch. Jake Gyllenhaal is not only a great actor now but a gifted young actor then. Overall a fun movie.

HE STARTED OUT SMALL, BUT HAD THE COURAGE TO CONTINUE WHEN THINGS WERE ALL AGAINST HIM . HE SHOWED THE WORLD WHAT A YOUNG MIND CAN DO IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY. HE GOES ON TO CHANGE THE SPACE PROGRAM.

True non-fictional science explorative and creative pioneering space race experience to be shared will all ages for a wholesome family viewing experience. I personally rate FIVE STARS out of FIVE

This movie is a good movie which reveals how some of the scientists which worked for Nasa developed their love for rockets and getting them into space. It has some laughs as well as some drama.

A 5 star family movie that must be in your collection, based on true events, inspiring!

One of the best movies ever made. Finally made it to Bluray and at an unbelievable price point. If you own the movie its time to upgrade and if you don't it's time to buy!

It's been years since watching October Sky on DVD. I was impressed with the picture and sound on the Blu-ray release. Thanks to Best Buy for releasing it at a fair price.

A fantastic film, and satisfying adaptation of the book Rocket Boys. The blu-ray is a satisfying transfer, with a decent commentary and behind the scenes supplement.

This movie has it all! Has a great story with lots of moral and heart! Bring your box of Kleenex because the greatness of this story will likely move you to tears!

Saw this one in the theatre many years back and thought it was time to give it another look. Just as good as when I originally saw it, definitely worth owning :)

True story about Homer Hickam and his desire to build rockets and escape the coal town he lives in. Decent picture and sound. An improvement from the DVD.

I haven't watched this bluray yet, but I have seen this movie many many times, I love it. When I saw it was finally available on bluray, I grabbed it.

Didn't know this was on bluray. Great film with great acting, story-telling and an uplifting mood. Has a good amount of special features as well.

I really liked the movie. Great for family. Purchased the blu ray to replace my dvd. Have not watched the blu ray. I just added it to my collection.
